Island 3. [Scared But Oh Well]
"Hey, the prison in Atlantis still looks better."
Once again, Anne's words were ignored by the two guards.
Their last war did not end well. Thanks to her, Marcus and the rest of the squad were able to safely return home but she, unfortunately, was caught by enemy armies.
'Anne, next time use your brain, don't use your emotions too much!' Cursing, she banged her head against the cold, moss-covered wall.
Once again she experienced déjà vu. Footsteps echoed down the hall signaling that a visitor would come. This time, Anne hates the rhythm it creates.
The creak of rusty iron rang out as a slime-covered creature with a disfigured face approached her. He and Anne exchanged glances, though to be honest, Anne wanted to throw up at this point.
"You, the woman called the bearer of light by that lowly nation?"
'Honestly, the situation and your words seem familiar to me, and,' a flat expression was obvious on the girl's face. The crowd looked at each other, waiting for what she would say next.
"Woman—"
"HEY! It's a little polite you rotten octopus!"
"What—"
"What!? You know, you're the ugliest antagonist! Ah! This is annoying! Bring back the 'handsome antagonist that readers fall in love with instead of the protagonist' syndrome!"
Everyone looked at her like crazy. How come? Anne had just brazenly scolded the leader of the Morgens, not to mention the insults and now, she was ruffling her hair and constantly rumbling weird things.
The leader grumbled, displeased with the humiliation he was receiving. "Tonight, take her to the torture chamber! Do everything you can, make her obey my orders to rule over the entire sea. You can sew up that insolent mouth too!"
BRAK!
"If you can, rusty octopus!"
Her head is dizzy. Despite all the outspoken attitude she does, Anne just wants to return to her original world. She just wants to have a normal humorous life.
Anne admits she's overdoing it, but she is just too tired of this.
"Weirdo."
"WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT HERE, UGLY OCTO—" A hand covered her mouth. The unfamiliar purplish skin made Anne's alarm rise sharply.
She struggle, but the 'attacker' didn't easily let go of his defense. "Keep quiet, weirdo. I won't hurt you..!"
The elbow that Anne gave at that time turned out to be quite effective in removing the hand that covered almost all her face. With a gasp, Anne immediately turned around, staring intently at the person who just make her lose breath.
"If you don't want to attack, at least pay attention to where your hands are! I'm a human who breathes with lungs, not gills like you weird fish-men!"
"Huh!? What did you call me!? It's strange how you can remain calm even though you're going to be put in the torture chamber."
"My life is already full of torture breathing in this place you know. I'm not screaming, doesn't mean I'm not panicking. Do you think I like being here!? A strange place where no one you know? Who has lost their heart and who will feel no fear!"
Morgen who heard those words was silent for a long time, his eyes looking straight at Anne who was controlling her breathing, maybe all to calm down.
"You're right," there is a small murmur.
"Of course— eh?"
The all-black eyes looked sad, and Anne couldn't help but feel pity. "Come to think of it, I don't think Morgen can speak properly anymore. Are you one of them?"
"Indeed, but somehow the magic used is imperfect on me. I read that human from the outer world will bring light to Morgen who is swallowed up by darkness." The pause he gave, soon the Morgen was kneeling, "please, help me resuscitate my friends. I, can't stand to see them enslaved like that."
'Oh déjà vu, why do you like me this much?'
At first, Anne want to reject it, but the light bulb that had been extinguished lit up brightly, again.
"This place shouldn't be that far from the war zone, right?"
A soft nod was enough to make a strange grin form on that face, "Then let's ask 'The Creator' to solve the problem himself."

The temple they visited was not as beautiful as the history books had described. Rocks are starting to erode, vines and moss are everywhere. Musty smells and dust enliven the atmosphere.
Anne and Cain, the name of the Morgen, staggered, trying to cover their wounds with hands to keep from bleeding again.
'If I knew that old-fashioned octopus was this annoying, I'd have kicked its head and made sashimi tails!'
Instantly the atmosphere that had been pitch black became light, almost blinding.
"A welcome, eh?" Seems calm, but cold sweat has covered Anne's face.
"Arrogant human child, it's right that you never get a blessing."
"Heh, fellow children shouldn't insult each other. Well, even though we're on different levels."
"What do you want?"
"Easy, you help these fish get their souls back, and I'll help you find 'that' weapon?"
"Don't be arrogant with your time."
A strange smile spread across Anne's face, "I offer to help you in the war. You guys have taboos about killing humans, don't you? Use me as a shield, and victory is sure to be in your hands."
Kronos was silent, Anne on the other hand swallowed her saliva. She wasn't sure she could persuade a Demigod like Kronos.
'Looks like I have to use a backup plan.'
"Okay."
"Think about— Okay?"
"You want me to change my mind?"
"No, it's decided! Cain, from now on there is no turning back. Ready or not we will end Morgen's slavery right now!"
For the rest of the day, they prepared everything. A war that will bring tears and pain, is the only way to bring back lost memories. Success or failure, all will only depend on ability and determination.
The question is, are you ready to risk everything?
