#askRei [closed]

What could be better with roasted snake, alcohol and fun stories than getting to know each other better?

As such, as a special treat for today you can #askRei to find out some of the secrets she hold close! It can be anything from relationships, family, career and the world she comes from! Though, questions relating to the plot might not be answered.

I'll update this chapter together with questions ticking in until the next chapter!

Q1 [tomorrowincolor] : Rei, if you were to meet someone from your past world (other than Kenta) as a Shadow Knight what would you do.

Rei: Insult them until they request a duel. No ally of mine would fall that low.

Q2 [Chirory]: Rei, what do you prefer: Cat or Fish?

Rei: Cats aren't Lions, as such fish. At least fish can be eaten.

Q3 [VyseSkadi]: Rei, choose one: Sushi, Sashimi or Fried Fish

Rei: Sushi. Coming from the mountains it carries the most nostalgic feelings for me.

Q4 [ryannmilan]: Rei, if you were given a chance to be reborn/ recreate your time at your former land, will you take the opportunity or not? Why?

Rei: If I would redo my time? No. Regret is a sin, for one. Secondly, the end would be the same. The outcome of that one battle could not be changed by me for political reasons.

Q5 [Deathly_Goddess]: Ano, Rei-sama how many prayers do you know, and can you say which is your favorite prayer?

Rei: *pleased by the honorific* I currently know 13 spells, however I feel like I am going to have a break through on more spells soon. Choosing my favorite spell is quite hard, however it is likely my healing spell. It is the one I have had the longest, and the one that formed the beginning of my military career as a combat priestess before I got the stronger spells. With a basic chant it has a radius of about 35 feet and lasts for six seconds, with the effect depending on my connection with the element of water.

Q6 [Aien-Arekito]: Rei, how is your life when you were child?

Rei: That is a vague and enormous question... School wasn't much unlike a soldier's boot camp. Water priests have to focus on their strength and perception, which are the parts of you water symbolizes to us. This means sprints up and down mountain sides, swimming, climbing, forest running and tag for recreational play. Once we couldn't move anymore we shifted to practice everything else, though spell memorization is not a part of this. We learned spirit lore and of the different realms, how to communicate with the ancestors politely, etiquette, defense and so on. Talking with the water gods had its own frustrations. They find it the most interesting when you are unreadable or remain calm on the surface. It was incredible frustrating for some, but our family was quite mellow so it usually went fine.

As for when we were home for winter... it was three months of walking on ice, where every mistake you made ended up sticking with you and people would politely poke fun at you. For example, singing is valued quite highly as a recreational art, and if you fail you won't hear the end of it. Needless to say I usually tried to remain near the shogi tables instead, at least that way I'd learn something meanwhile. All in all it was brilliant and fully dedicated to the work we were to do in the future.

Q7 [MoonDrop24]: Rei, if you had the chance to be gender-bent into one of the love interests, would you do it?

Rei: No. Why, by the gods, would I do such a pointless thing?
