そして彼は待った
And So He Waited

Jisung woke up the next few mornings extremely bewildered. He had not once been able to visit Chenle in his sleep. Every time he fell into slumber, he would wake up the next morning having not dreamt at all, though fully rested for once.
"Again?!" He groaned, kicking his sheets off frustratedly and feeling guilty. Chenle probably thought he had abandoned him or something. But the pinkette couldn't work out the problem.
Glaring over at the bright sun shining through his window, he remembered it was actually a Saturday, and he didn't have school. "At least something's good."
The teen sat up, stretching out his arms briefly before standing up and shaking out. Looking at his hand, he sighed and slid the ring off. He didn't wear it during the day, only at night. He wanted to visit the forest with it on, but obviously his dreams had suddenly halted.
"Mum!" He yelled, starting to pull his clothes off and get changed.
"Yeah?" The older woman called back from downstairs.
"I'm going out today!"
"Okay!"
He sighed to himself, changing into denim shorts, since it was hot out, and a plain white shirt. He grabbed his phone off his desk along with a pair of headphones, about to spin around and take off though catching a glint in the corner of his eye.
The ring sat desolate on his bedside locker. The tarnished gold complementing the old gem it held.
"Should I risk wearing you?" The pink haired male questioned himself. He stared at the piece of jewellery for a minute longer before sighing and wandering over to swipe it off he wooden surface. "I guess so."

Chenle lay on his bed sobbing. He didn't know how long it had been, even though it was around three or four days, but he felt utterly lost and abandoned all the same.
He had sat for hours upon hours beside the lilies, waiting for his prince to show up as usual. But he hadn't in ages, and it was stressing him out.
At first, he thought something had happened to the younger, or he was just pulling another all nighter. But in the amount of time it had taken him, he had started to believe he was just left behind.
Jisung had promised that he would always come back for Chenle. Yet there he was, alone and drowning in his own pitiful tears. It had been a couple of months since he had felt this loneliness, but the nostalgic feeling was back, and the Chinese hated it.
Noticing the fairies were also hovering a lot closer to the cottage more often lately, the teen was starting to wonder if certain things were linking together. He didn't want to think the tiny creatures were keeping Jisung away from him....but it was starting to look that way.
He sniffled pathetically, staring at the blank wall beside him. After being presented a human after so long of living in solitude, the older couldn't stand having that person ripped away.
It was like offering someone a slice of cake, but pulling it away as soon as they went to take a bite. But it wasn't just that, that bothered Chenle. The emotional attachment he had to Jisung was painful.
His heart was breaking up along with his body withering away. It was so damn soul crushing being put in this position....and Chenle was near wits end.
