I stared at my reflection through the mirror, and an overwhelming feeling of joy took over me. We had been together for three summers. My walls were covered in polaroid pictures of us, and every time I looked at them, I couldn't help but smile. Even before we started dating, I knew we were meant to be together – you were my soulmate, my other half, my forever.

Today was our third anniversary. It was the perfect day to take our relationship to the next level. Tonight was the night I was going to propose to you. The excitement was too much for me to handle; my heart was racing, and my hands were shaking a little.

Determined to make that night unforgettable, I did everything I could to ensure I looked my best. I spent extra time styling my hair to look as chic as possible, and I picked out a sharp suit that made me look more professional and put together than usual.
