chance encounter

A week later, fate brought us together once again at a coffee shop. I walked in and saw you sitting alone at a booth, lost in thought as you gazed out the window. You didn't see me come in, but I could see you from far away. You were holding a coffee cup that was now half empty, or half full, growing cold, as you watched the outside world.

I couldn't take my eyes off of you. Fate had a weird way of playing, I thought to myself, as I held your notebook tightly. I carried it with me everywhere I went, in case I ever saw you again.

And look at how fate played. It brought me to you.

I made my way over to you, my palms beginning to sweat with nerves. Fate had a weird way of playing, I thought again as I stood by your booth and you turned your head to look at me. A jolt of electricity ran through me.

I offered you your notebook. "Hi, I think this belongs to you," I said, my voice trembling slightly.

You were caught off guard when you saw your notebook in my hand, your eyes widening with surprise and shock. You didn't seem to know what to say. But then, you glanced my way once more, and your demeanour suddenly became more gentle and understanding. Confusion rattled me, and I furrowed my brows.

You smiled and took the notebook from me. Our fingers accidentally touched, and my heart started racing so quickly that I couldn't comprehend how it was still functioning. "I've been looking for this everywhere."

Fate had a weird way of playing, but sometimes it brought us exactly what we needed.

[NARI'S DIARY]

Dear Diary,

I sit here with pen in hand, and my thoughts can't help but wander to the next time our paths will cross. The mere thought of seeing you again sends a wave of butterflies migrating to my stomach.

Yours always, Nari.
