The sound of water dripping from the nursery roof was catching a tune. I heard a calming voice, probably Riverpelt , my mother or one of the Queens trying to calm one of her kits. I opened my eyes, it was a blur at first but it became clear after a while. I saw three Queens nursing their young and I was just getting on my paws. My mother Riverpelt looked at me. She had Amber eyes and black and brown fur, white ears and white paws. " You've opened your eyes for the first time.. Lillykit. " Said my mother with a calming tone. I thought to myself Lillykit? It's a nice name... I saw about twenty two kits including me were in the nursery. My mother got close and 3 Kits were at her side. They haven't opened their eyes yet. They were mostly brown and one white. one tom and three she-kits. They where all purring softly. You almost couldn't hear them. I looked at each one of them and I wondered why I was the only one awake. I sat there waiting for them to open their eyes. Finally a tom opened his eyes. They where like mother's Amber eyes. He looked at me and scanned me of what I looked like."Oakkit, that shall be your name." He looked towards the outer kits, the light brown she kit with dark brown paws woke up. Mother said "Ivykit". We looked up at mother and said "w-what?" her voice was light like mine but scratchy. Ivykit looked at me and Oakkit and started over in a waddle. She almost fell as she sat next to Oakkit. Around noon they opened their eyes at the same time and looked at mother. She looked at the white kit first " you, my dear, are Snowkit " she then looked at the black and white kit "You shall be Dragonkit." she looked at all the kits either sitting or laying down. The white kit stood up and said,"Snowkit?" she said shivering. She got closer to her mom and laid closer. The white black kit looked around the area not saying anything.
Mother looked at all of us and said "Hello my kits-" She was cut off by some thunder and lightning coming from outside. We all curled up next to our mom of fear of the thunder and lightning that roared. After a while we all fell asleep next to mom and the thunder and lightning cleared.
