Everything in Thorn told her to stay. Stay in bed. There was nothing out there for her. There was nothing left for her anywhere. Her life was a mistake. Nothing good would ever happen for her so what was the point of getting up? There was none. She wanted to stay in bed, locking herself away from everything. Maybe if she lay there long enough, time would do its job and let her wither away.

One thing kept her from doing that. Jinx. It was always Jinx. She was the one who would pull her from the very depths of her mind and get her back on track, just like Thorn always did for her. Thorn tried to get her to leave her alone. She didn't want to face anyone. Jinx forced her anyway. She said it would be better to go out and have fun with her than lay there in her self-pity. Thorn didn't have a chance to tell her off before Jinx forced her out of bed.

There wasn't even time to change, something Thorn wasn't entirely happy about. Usually, the girl wore an off-the-shoulder, long-sleeved crop top and a pair of shorts. Now she wore a baggy sleep shirt and a pair of pants. She didn't even brush or straighten her hair. The curls were slowly taking shape and she only saw it as a bad thing. No matter how much she tried to smooth them out, they would bounce right back.

The first destination they went to was the Last Drop. Thorn had no idea why. Jinx barely explained anything then they left the lair. Music played softly on the music player. No one was inside except for the bartender. Thorn had seen him a few times but she never bothered to remember his name. Jinx decided to play a bit of a trick on him. She opened the door and rushed inside with Thorn, hiding from sight. Thorn raised an eyebrow at the girl. Jinx gave her a grin.

Gasping, the bartender turned to the source of the noise. He was met with the sight of the open door but nothing else. There was a bit of hesitation from the man. Thorn would guess he was trying to decide whether or not someone opened it. He decided to leave it alone. He went back to whatever he was doing before they came. His head bopped with the music.

The peace he felt was disrupted by Jinx, "Chuck!"

Once again, the bartender let out a loud gasp. He turned and took a step back. He was surprised to see the two girls sitting side by side at the bar. Jinx had her arm and head lying on the counter. With her free hand, she messed with the blue Hextech crystal. Thorn, on the other hand, had her elbow perched on the bar. Her cheek rested against her palm. She looked uninterested, but there was still a calculating glint in her eyes as she stared the man down.

It put the man on edge. He shifted nervously as he corrected the blue-haired girl, "Thieram. Uh... My name's Thieram." Thorn raised an eyebrow at him. He swallowed down the lump in his throat.

"Nice try, Chuck." Jinx turned to him.

"What kind of name is Thieram anyway?" Thorn inquired.

"His parents must have hated him, huh, Ander?" Jinx asked. Thorn responded with a nod.

This guy was a lot braver than most others in the undercity. "I'm right here?" He spoke casually with the girls. Almost everyone in the undercity was scared of Silco. They knew that Jinx and Thorn were under his guardianship. People said they were his daughters or called them, "Silco's girls." This title was enough to scare anyone into barely even looking at them. The bartender, Thieram, Chuck, whichever, avoided looking directly at them but still spoke as if they were a regular customer. There was a bit of nervousness but he did well to hide it.

Even with the correction, Jinx didn't let up, "Yeah, yeah, anywho, Chuck..." Thorn couldn't help the soft laugh that came from her. She knew Jinx heard it when the girl grinned. Chuck threw the girls glances every once in a while. Jinx sat up straight and let out a scoff. She threw her head back to move her bangs out of her face, "What's all the hubbub?" Thorn knew what she was talking about. There were no people in the Last Drop. That didn't happen every day. Something was going on.

With shaking hands, Chuck poured a drink into a cup, "Uh. Boss wants us to grab someone up." The cup was an old one. It had drawings on it. There were some stars and moons on it, along with other things. It was a cup that Vander used to give to Jinx whenever she would sit at the bar. Thorn noticed Chuck's eyes shifting nervously.

A sigh came from her. "Hey, Chuck," She brought her fingers near his face and snapped. The sudden movement made him jump. His head shot up. He met her eyes for the first time since they'd been here. She gave him a pointed look, "We didn't suddenly teleport over to the side. We're right here." Seriously. It was just plain rude to not look at someone when they're talking.

Movement could be seen beside Thorn. She looked over to see Jinx had leaned forward onto the counter. The girl spun the crystal on her index finger as she stared at Chuck, "Someone? Anyone?" She caught the crystal in her hand. Chuck put the drink down in front of the girl and went to make a drink for Thorn. The cup he used was another familiar one. This one had pictures of flowers drawn on it. "Who are you grabbing?"

"Some girls." Chuck placed Thorn's drink in front of her. He put the bottle away and started grabbing something from under the bar.

""Some girls?"" Thorn quoted.

"You'd better not be talking about us," Jinx had a look in her eyes. It was one she usually had when she was waiting. Waiting for the other person to make the first move. Waiting for a fight. She narrowed her eyes at the man, "That'd end badly for you, Chuck. Am I right, toots?" Thorn locked eyes with Jinx. She gave the girl a nod in agreement.

The interaction didn't go unnoticed by Chuck. He looked even more anxious than before, "No, we're not grabbing either of you. I mean, I mean not... I'm not grabbing girls," He was stumbling over his words. The sight of him panicking was enough for a smile to grow on Thorn's face. It wasn't a big one but it was present nonetheless. Jinx laid her arms and head down on the counter. "Oh, other than the... those ones..." He put a straw in each of the girls' drinks. "I guess."

"Focus," Jinx snapped. She held up the crystal. "Who are they?" She ran the crystal along the rim of the cup. "Why weren't we invited to the party?" A splash sounded as the crystal sunk into her beverage.

"I'd figured we would know something if everyone is involved," Thorn mused. She used her straw to swirl her drink around. She hadn't taken a sip yet. She wasn't thirsty. She wasn't hungry. She didn't feel much of anything. "Unless they're keeping something from us. What do you think, Chuck?" Her eyes met his.

The man shrugged, "Uh, I don't know. They... They got in a fight with Sevika," Thorn's eyebrows shot up. Now that was something. Something that didn't happen much. People who picked a fight with Sevika were not common. She had made a name for herself since Silco took over. Anyone who fought her basically signed their death warrant. Who would be stupid enough to go up against her? "They did a number on her." That's even more surprising.

While Thorn was interested in the altercation, Jinx was much more nonchalant about it. She sucked the straw and pulled the crystal out of her drink with it. She suddenly stopped and the crystal fell back into the liquid. She spoke with the straw still in her mouth, "Oh, really? Which number?" She drank some of her beverage.

"It's like a saying..." Chuck trailed off.

The blue-haired girl jumped up. Thorn took this as their queue to start leaving. She watched in confusion as Jinx wrapped her arms around Chuck. She had a grin on her face, "You're doing great, Chuck," Jinx wasn't seeing the look Thorn was giving Chuck. Chuck was unfortunate enough to see it. He looked like he was offering to dig his own grave before she did anything. Jinx patted his back and pulled away, "Here, for your troubles." She pointed and he started looking around.

Grabbing her drink, Jinx dragged Thorn toward the door of the bar. Thorn was giving her a look, "Hugging a random like him is very out of character for you."

"Jealous much, Ander?" Jinx glanced back at her with a grin. Thorn shrugged. "Just watch the show." And she definitely did.

A whirring noise caught her attention. She turned. Chuck was hearing it as well. He turned but couldn't find what was making the noise. That's when Thorn saw the bomb attached to his back. The pin was already pulled. He then realized what was happening. It was already too late. The bomb exploded. It left pink smoke in the air and pink stained his back. Thorn let out a laugh. Jinx squeezed the girl's hand as she glanced back once more. She left with Thorn following behind her.

The next destination was Silco's office. Jinx was setting something up. Thorn wasn't entirely sure what but she had given Jinx some of her plants upon her request. Jinx told her she needed a sleeping agent. Not something that would kill (unfortunately) but something that would know somebody out. While Jinx set everything up, Thorn settled herself up in their hiding spot.

There was a comforting silence between the girls. Both of them knew they weren't required to say anything. They could just be. After everything was set up, Jinx sat down in Silco's chair. The chair's back was facing the door. Jinx had a clipboard in hand and she looked through the contents. She didn't seem too interested in what was on the papers. It just gave her something to do while they waited for... Whatever it was they waited for.

A little earlier in the day, Thorn was annoyed. Why couldn't Jinx just let her lay in bed in peace? She didn't want to go anywhere. She didn't have the energy to do anything. She wanted to be left alone and Jinx was ruining any chance she had of that. Now, Thorn was feeling differently. She felt bad. Correction, she felt awful. Was this really her? This useless lump that forced other people to deal with her.

What part of her was so superior to everyone that they had to take care of her? Jinx had her own problems to deal with. She was much worse off mentally than Thorn. Yet here she was, taking care of the girl like she had nothing to worry about. Thorn was a horrible person. How could she inconvenience the person who means the most to her? She wouldn't be surprised if Jinx secretly hated her.

Her gaze went up to the ceiling. She could feel burning in her eyes. She would've cursed if she didn't want to bother Jinx. She blinked a few times to rid the coming tears. It wasn't working too well but it worked enough. Thorn moved her gaze away from Jinx as she spoke up, "I'm sorry," She could feel the stare on the side of her head. "For making you take care of me. My emotional state shouldn't be your problem."

There was a moment of silence. Thorn was expecting to hear Jinx curse her out. She was expecting her to say something about how she was right and Thorn shouldn't pour all of her emotions onto her. She was surprised to hear Jinx say the exact opposite, "Hey, we're each other's problems," Thorn finally turned her head. Jinx was staring up at her. There wasn't a look of disdain or annoyance. It was a look of understanding. "I'm just returning the favor," The sound of footsteps filled their ears. "Now you sit up there and look pretty, sweets." Jinx looked away. Thorn couldn't tear her gaze away.

Almost. The sound of the door made her turn her head. It was Sevika. She had the usual scowl on her face. Something happened to piss her off, that much was obvious. She let out a sigh that was laced with frustration, "We lost her."

The understanding look on Jinx's face changed when she heard the voice. It was now a look that showed the seriousness of her motivations. She turned the chair, revealing herself to the woman, "Lost who?" She pointed at Sevika with the clipboard. Sevika stared at her with surprise. That surprise soon enough turned into anger. She let out a growl and started heading toward Jinx. She didn't even realize she tripped with the tripwire. That's when she froze. Green gas started to fill the room. She tried to cover her mouth and nose with her arm but the gas seeped through. She coughed. Jinx put on a gas mask and Thorn did the same. Sevika stumbled forward, leaning heavily onto the desk as she coughed more. She tried to reach for Jinx but she couldn't make it all the way. Jinx wiggled her fingers at the woman. Sevika fell to the floor with a thud. The girls waited until the gas cleared to do anything. When it did, Jinx stood and stared up at the door. She took off her mask, "Good work on the plants as usual," Thorn took off her mask. Jinx looked down at Sevika, coming around the desk to look at her. When she was close enough, she kicked the woman. No reaction. She was completely knocked out. "What kinda plant did you use? She's not dead, is she?"

"Would you be disappointed if I said no?" Thorn asked.

"Maybe a little." Jinx shrugged.

Thorn held out her hand to Jinx. Jinx walked over and grabbed it, helping the girl down from the hiding space. Thorn let out a sigh as her feet touched the floor safely. She locked eyes with Jinx. She suddenly realized how close they were, merely inches away from each other. She tried her best to push aside the feeling of her racing heart, "It's golden poppy. It's known for its sedative-like qualities."

With one last look, Jinx let her go. She walked over to Sevika and picked her up. She let out a groan, "Jesus, she's heavy. What kind of stuff does she eat?" The struggle didn't go unnoticed by Thorn. She walked over and helped Jinx carry Sevika over to Silco's chair. They set her down and both let out a breath of relief. Jinx grabbed some rope she had nearby and started tying the woman to the chair. "How long will she be out for? We're kind of on a tight schedule."

"That's..." Thorn trailed off. There was a thoughtful look on her face, "A good question. I don't know. It's my first time using it." The seeds were gotten for her by Silco. He had a shipment of different seeds and gardening stuff brought for her every other month. The golden poppies she was growing were just now mature enough to use.

Once the ropes were secure, Jinx stared at Sevika in thought, "I think I know a way to speed up the process." Jinx had a devious expression. Thorn raised an eyebrow at her.

Now, Thorn wished she could say that Jinx's method surprised her. It didn't. Jinx opted for spinning the chair repeatedly. Thorn tilted her head, "I guess that works," It felt like forever until Jinx stopped. Sevika's head fell forward with a groan. Thorn had to admit. She was a little interested to see the result. What effect did dizziness have on the golden poppy gas in Sevika's system? Sevika was yet to fully wake up. Jinx slapped her across the face, making the woman grunt. Thorn winced. Sevika shook her head, trying to rid herself of the sleep and dizziness. She looked forward and saw Jinx sitting on the edge of the desk. Jinx had her fingers interlaced. She grinned at the woman, "Welcome back to the land of the living." The sound of her voice made Sevika turn her head to look at her. There was a weary expression on the woman's face.

A deep breath from Jinx had Sevika turn back to her. "I feel like you and I," Jinx used her feet to bring the chair closer. She touched Sevika's face. "Got off on the wrong arm," Jinx grabbed the knife on Sevika's back and pulled it out of its holster, "Maybe we should try the other." She aimed the knife toward Sevika's remaining arm.

There wasn't even a hint of worry on Sevika's face. She watched the knife for a moment before letting out a chuckle, "No need," Jinx moved the knife back. There was a girn on her face. Thorn knew she would stab Sevika and follow through on her promise. What Sevika said next was probably the only thing that saved the woman, "It's your sister," Jinx froze. Thorn felt like everything stopped. "She's back. She's looking for you. Both of you."

There was no way. Absolutely no way. Thorn shook her head, "You're lying. Silco said she was dead." Vi left them after the explosion and then... Then Silco said she died. He wouldn't lie to them. He wouldn't. Sevika was lying. She had to be.

As Thorn searched the woman's face, she couldn't see any hint of a waver. Either she was good at lying or she truly believed what she was saying. Sevika had a smile on her face though it had darker undertones to it, "Why would I need to lie?" Thorn didn't need to look over at Jinx to know she was lost in thought. Thoughts racing a mile a minute. That was exactly how Thorn felt. "It's not what you think," Sevika's smile turned even more cruel. "She's with some girl enforcer. Guess she replaced you."

This was what made Thorn look over. There was a look of anger on Jinx's face. She brought the chair even closer, "You're lying!" The knife was thrust into the chair beside Sevika's head. Jinx was breathing heavily. The two were inches away from each other.

"Why bother?" Sevika chuckled. "Her back in town, it's only a matter of time before you implode, and Silco finally gets the message," Jinx started slowly pushing the chair away. "That you're about as good for our cause as you were for your family," Jinx hissed. "Jinx."

Sobbing started coming from Jinx. Sevika looked pleased with herself. Thorn wanted nothing more than to rid the look of the woman's face. Thorn looked into Sevika's eyes, "Maybe you and my water hemlock should get acquainted with each other, Sevika," Sevika turned to her. There was no anxiety on Sevika's face. Thorn felt her grip on the edge of the desk tighten. "You share a common trait," She moved closer to Sevika. "People who meet you wish they die quickly."

A sneeze broke Thorn's gaze. The next thing she knew, Sevika went flying backward. Thorn turned to see Jinx laughing. She moved to stand up straight again. Jinx was now the one smiling, "Ten outta ten, toots!" She exclaimed. She jumped off the desk. Jinx shot a glance toward Thorn, "The threat you gave was beautiful, Thorn. It inspired me. I think I know," She turned back to Sevika and leaned forward. "Just how to deliver Sevika's message to Silco." Once again, Jinx started spinning the chair. She waved at Sevika, giggling.

***

Dealing with Sevika was the easiest part. What came after felt like a lot more work but it was the simplest step. They needed to send out a symbol for Vi to see. Jinx already had an idea of what to do. That's what led the two girls to stand on top of a building. Jinx had a flare in her hand. It was one that Thorn hadn't seen in years. She was surprised that Jinx still had it. All they would need to do was light up the flare and wait.

There was hesitation from Jinx. She stared down at the flare in her hand. She made no move to light it up. Thorn could guess what was going through her mind. If it was hard on Thorn, it was even harder on Jinx. This was her sister. One that had basically thrown her away the last time they saw each other. What would happen if she didn't show up? Better yet, what would happen if she did show up?

"Hey," Thorn spoke up. Jinx barely spared a glance at her. This didn't bother Thorn in the slightest. She just put a hand on Jinx's shoulder, "Whatever happens, know that I'm here. I'm not planning on going anywhere."

"Thanks," Jinx stated. Thorn smiled at her.

Nodding to herself, Jinx pulled the bottom of the flare. She held it in the sky as blue smoke billowed out of it. The girls waited. They waited for what felt like an eternity. Soon enough, the flare fizzled out. There was no one but the two of them. Jinx was discouraged. She closed her eyes for a moment before looking up at the flare. She threw it away with a grunt and panted. She then reached into her bag and pulled out the crystal. She stared at it with a look of determination.

Part of Thorn was relieved that Vi didn't show up. Part of the reason was because of Jinx. She had no idea how Vi would react to seeing her again. What if she was still angry about what happened? What if she caused even more pain toward the girl? And then how would she react to Thorn? Would she be equally as upset? Thorn did help Jinx make the bomb that killed their family. She didn't want to find out the reaction they would get.

"Powder? Briar?"

Something out there hated her. That had to be it. Thorn's eyes widened. Jinx looked up and slowly turned in the direction of the voice. Thorn had to force herself to do the same. When she turned, a familiar face stared back at them. It was Vi. She was older than the last time they'd seen her. She kept the same hairstyle but it had grown out a bit.

"No way." Thorn found herself saying. It was like she was having an out-of-body experience. She was scared of what was about to happen... But she was also relieved. Here was Vi, someone she looked up to in her youth. Someone who defended her when Mylo called her a thorn and then turned around and called her the same thing. Someone who left her own sister and Briar when they needed her the most. She didn't know how to feel. It was all confusing.

"Vi?" Jinx was fully facing the girl now.

A sob came from Vi, "Oh, Powder!" She rushed forward and encased her sister in a hug. Jinx only stood there. The shock of what was going on caused her to drop the crystal. Jinx's eyes watered until she started crying. She wrapped her arms around Vi. Thorn stood off to the side. The moment was meant to be shared between the two sisters. It felt wrong to try and insert herself so she stood and waited. The waiting came to an end quickly. Vi noticed the girl standing off to the side. She grabbed her arm and brought her closer, "Get over here, Briar," Thorn didn't know how to feel when she felt Vi hug her close, along with Jinx. Something in her broke though. She could feel it. Tears started to fall from her eyes. It was like this was all she needed this whole time. Eventually, Vi pulled the girls back. She placed a hand on the side of Jinx's face, "I'm so sorry, Powder. I'm sorry to both of you," Vi turned to look at Thorn for a moment. The redheaded girl was quick to wipe away any tears that were falling. Those tears were only replaced by more.  "I..." Vi wiped a tear from Jinx's face. "I tried to come back. I promise, I did. But I... I got arrested." What?

"Marcus?" Jinx asked.

The older girl turned her gaze to the ground, "I don't know. I... It doesn't matter. I just..." Vi looked from Jinx to Thorn, "I never thought I'd see you guys again." She brought the two into another hug.

"I could say the same." Thorn was starting to get over the shock.

"Are you real?" Jinx's question broke both Vi's and Thorn's hearts.

Vi was quick to pull back again. She nodded, "Yes, of course. It's me," She placed her hand on her chest. "Vi, your sister," She stammered, "I'm here. I'm right here." How was this even happening? None of this felt real. It was like Thorn was living a dream. Maybe she never left their bed. Maybe she was dreaming. She would wake up and everything would go back to how it was. She was surprised that she felt a sense of loss from the idea. She thought she was over this already.

Sobbing, Jinx looked away from her sister, "Things changed when you left," A lot of things. Jinx seemed to be on the same page, "We changed." She looked at Vi.

What would Vi think? What would she think of what the girls had become? They weren't the same little girls they were. Thorn was once a little girl who detested violence but used it like it was second nature now. She used to be a little girl who smiled all the time and now she forced even small ones. For some reason, Vi didn't look upset about it. She placed her free hand on Jinx's shoulder, "I know, Pow-Pow, I know," Vi placed her other hand on Jinx's cheek. "You guys did what you had to do to survive," She exhaled. "Me too. It's okay," Once again, they were brought into another hug. Thorn could feel Vi's hand on the back of her head. "What matters is we're together."

But she didn't get it. She had no idea how much they'd changed. "Vi, we..." Thorn stopped herself. Something caught her attention. It was the sound of footsteps. There was someone else here.

And she wasn't the only one who noticed. Jinx heard it as well. She opened her eyes and looked over Vi's shoulder. She was quick to push Vi away, holding onto her machine gun. Jinx pulled Thorn to her side as she aimed her gun at the newcomer, "Who's she?"

It was a woman. A woman wearing a hood. She was taller than Thorn and Jinx. Thorn could just barely see her dark blue hair poking out from her hood. When she spoke, she had an accent, "Who are you?" It was obvious to Thorn that she didn't come from Zaun. She had to be from Piltover. Not many people sound as proper as she did in the undercity.

"She asked first," Thorn told her.

Quickly, Vi stepped in. She held her hand up as if to comfort the girls, "It's okay. She's a friend."

The uniform the woman was wearing suddenly clicked. It was the uniform of an enforcer. Vi brought an enforcer her. Thorn's gaze turned hard. She said nothing. Jinx spoke for the both of them, "Sevika wasn't lying?" She looked at her sister. "You're with an enforcer?" Vi went to touch Jinx's shoulder but the girl flinched away. She didn't even notice she nudged the crystal away with her foot.

A scoff came from Thorn as she shook her head, "Vi, you can't be serious." An enforcer of all people? What was Vi doing with her? Was she the reason Vi stayed away for so long? Wait, Vi said she was in prison. For how long? What if she got out at some point and met this woman? Dots that were never really there started connecting in Thorn's head. She came up with all kinds of conclusions without any backing proof.

"Your sister is Jinx?" The woman inquired. "And the other person you're looking for is Jinx's girlfriend?" The title made Thorn pause for a moment. She stared at the woman in confusion. When did she come to that conclusion?

The question made Vi turn back to the woman, "Caitlyn," Caitlyn? What kind of name was Caitlyn? It was only a name topside could come up with. How could Vi bring an enforcer here? Thorn asked the question multiple times already. It was all she could focus on. "Just listen, we can work this out." Vi inched toward Caitlyn.

"This is a trick!" Jinx suddenly exclaimed. "You're playing me!" Thorn was feeling the same way. Jinx aimed her gun to the side, "Shut up! I'm in no mood."

"We didn't say anything," Caitlyn said.

"She wasn't talking to you." Thorn spat out.

At the same time, Jinx said the same, "I wasn't talking to you!" She aimed her gun at the enforcer. Thorn wanted her to shoot. Who was this girl to think she could take Vi? Keep her away from them for all these years? What was her motive? What made her think she could even be here?

The thoughts came to a pause when Vi stepped in front of Jinx's gun, "Powder, Briar, it's okay."

A harsh laugh came from Thorn, "Vi, that's a joke," Vi turned to her. "Are you hearing yourself right now?" There was a look of betrayal on Thorn's face. She took one look at the enforcer's uniform and couldn't help but think about everything they'd ever done to her. The countless times they searched her and her friends when they did nothing wrong. When they hunted them down because of the explosion. When they killed her parents. When they killed her little brother. This girl was everything she hated.

"Stop calling us that," Jinx told Vi. "It's Jinx and Thorn now. Powder and Briar fell down a well."

"You're not a jinx and Briar isn't a thorn. God, I never should have-" Vi tried to get closer to Jinx.

Jinx was quick to shut her down, "Stop talking to me like I'm a child!" She pointed her machine gun under Vi's chin. This was what surprised Thorn the most. She stared between the two with surprise. She knew that Jinx would react badly to all this but she didn't know it would escalate this much. "Was that why you came?" Jinx glanced at the crystal on the floor, "For this stupid stone?" She let out a chuckle.

For the first time, Vi glanced at the crystal, "No, I don't even know what that is, I..."

"I'm starting to doubt you know what you're even saying," Thorn stated. What if this Caitlyn brainwashed her? That had to be it. There was no other explanation.

The chuckle from Jinx turned into a laugh, "You're a class act, Sister. Sister," Her voice was low and gravelly. "Thought I missed her. Bet you wouldn't miss her." She grabbed the handle of the machine gun but didn't shoot. The barrel only spun.

"Powder! I'm here for you two," Vi pushed the gun away. "Only you guys," She pushed the gun down and grabbed Jinx's arm. Thorn could only watch the scene play out. "You can fire that thing if you want, but I'm not going anywhere," Jinx took a step back, making Vi let her go. "I'm not going to," Vi touched Jinx's arm. "Abandon either of you again."

But did she mean that? Was she telling the truth? Thorn thought Sevika was lying but she was telling the truth. Did she even know anything anymore? Jinx glanced down at the hand on her arm before she looked back at Vi. She then looked away with her head down, "Everyone, shut up, I need to think," She brought a hand to her head. Thorn inched closer to her. Suddenly, Jinx jumped back and aimed her gun at seemingly nothing. "Do you hear that?"

No one said anything. They went quiet, trying to hear what Jinx had. Vi was looking around. Thorn heard a squealing sound and the sound of a crow. Metal creaked. Then, Firelights came out of the sewers. Thorn shot them a glare, "Damn Firelights don't know when to quit."

The fight was quick to start. Jinx aimed at the Firelights and shot. The Firelights flew around on the Z-drives, dodging the bullets coming at them. Vi, Jinx, and Thorn stand with their backs to the others. Thorn got out her own gun. She rarely ever uses it. She hoped that she still had the skill too. While Vi fought the Firelights with her fists, Jinx and Thorn shot them.

Once Firelight got a bit too close to Thorn. She got out her gardening shovel and swiped at them. They jumped back and she shot them. She turned her gaze over to see how Jinx and Vi were doing. Jinx was still shooting her machine gun at the Firelights. She had a grin on her face and laughed. Vi was almost shot by one of Jinx's bullets. She glanced at her sister before going back to fighting.

Another Firelight came up to Thorn. She went to shoot but the Firelight pushed her hand away. They went to strike her back but she turned and threw her gardening shovel. The shovel made impact with the Firelight's stomach. Blood poured from the wound. The Firelight stumbled back before falling to the ground. Thorn stood, grabbing back her gardening shovel. She heard Vi call out to Jinx. She didn't say Jinx though. She said Powder.

This made Thorn look over. She turned in just enough time to see Vi get struck across the face from behind. Ignoring all the feelings she had toward the girl at the moment, Thorn started to run toward Vi. Before she could get far, she felt herself get struck on the back of the head. She was out before she hit the ground.
