it was different one day.

there were people inside newt's room.

like, people. not nurses or doctors.

it worried thomas. he didn't know who they were. but, he let them stay inside and waited patiently for them to finish. he hated being intruded on when he was having his peace with newt, so knew other people would.

so, he just sat outside, holding his bouquet of flowers.

it was only when a booming laugh was heard from inside when he realised that it was the same people who were taking the lilies. he had looked inside then made eye contact with the boy who had been holding the flowers 2 days before.

he instantly span back around, embarrassed by the face he made eye contact. he didn't see him smile and roll his eyes in a playful manner.

when he walked out, he gave thomas a nod and a smile. "hey."

"oh, uh, hi." thomas gave a curt nod back, standing up as he realised the group of friends had walked away.
