Why is my hair streaked?!?!?!?!?!
Hermione's POV
I hear a scream coming from the loo. It was really high pitched, sounding really like Liliana. Oh, did I mention that she's sleeping in our dormitory today?
"WHY IS MY HAIR STREAKED?!?!?!?!?!"
Is that girl really crazy or what? "Calm down, Liliana! You're going to wake Parvati and Lavender up!"
"TELL ME WHY MY HAIR IS STREAKED!!!!!"
"Your hair is what?!" I walk up to the door and turned the knob. It was locked. "Let me in so I can see!"
"NO DON'T COME INSIDE!!!!!"
"Liliana?! Hermione?!" It was Harry's voice. He sounded really worried and anxious. After Fred and George told him how to enter the girls' dorms, he would come up here every night to check up on Liliana (unless she's sleeping in the Ravenclaw common room, then he'd ask Chelsey Fujii, a fifth year Ravenclaw). Harry's so sweet and the best brother anyone could ask for. Now don't go looking at me like that!
I like Harry. As a friend.
I run to the other door and flung it open. Harry was standing on the other side.
"Liliana's in the loo screaming at the top of her lungs," I explained. "She won't let me in!"
Harry runs to the door. "Liliana! It's me, Harry. Open up, please?!" he asks desperately.
The door opens, and Harry rushes in. And it quickly slams shut again.
Harry's POV
I jerk awake at a scream. It was still ringing in my ears. It sounded mildly like Liliana, but I'm not taking chances. I look over to Ron's bed. He's still fast asleep. Okay, I'm going.
"LIliana?! Hermione?!" I call once I'm in front of the girls' dorms. Fred and George were right. Knowing how to enter the girls' dorms can come in handy sometimes.
The door flings open. Hermione is standing in her nightdress on the other side. She looks pretty...in the nightdress, I mean.
"Liliana's in the loo screaming at the top of her lungs," Hermione explained. "She won't let me in!"
I run to the door. "Liliana! It's me, Harry. Open up, please?!" I ask desperately.
The door opens, and I rush in. Then the door quickly slams shut again.
Liliana was sitting on the toilet seat, her head in her hands, crying. It felt like a stab in my chest to see my little sister cry so sadly. I crouch on the floor next to her.
"Liliana? Lily? What's wrong?" I ask softly as I pulled her in my lap and gently wipe her hot tears away.
"My hair!" she choked out. "Look at my hair!"
I do. And...it's streaked with golden yellow!
"Whoa what happened to it?!" I exclaimed.
"I can't be a metamorphmagus, since this is only streaked, and their transformations make all their hair a strict colour each time, so why is my hair streaked?!?!?!?!?!"
"Calm down, Lily," I responded firmly. She relaxed and lay down in my lap.
When I think she's calmed down enough, I spoke again. "Why do you think your hair is streaked." She shrugged. "Did anyone do anything to it?"
She whimpered. "I don't know! It wasn't like that when I washed it last night! And when I went to sleep it was still fine!"
I sighed. "It actually looks pretty, you know." I stared in her eyes. I couldn't help noticing that her eyes had a hint of silver in them, aside from the usual emerald green. But I ignored it.
She sniffed. "Really?"
I smiled and kissed her cheek. "Really." I glanced to the clock. I was nearly seven. "Come on, we have to get ready! Breakfast starts in half an hour!"
"Okay." Her voice shook as she spoke, but I saw a trace of a smile on her face. "It might be nice having golden highlights for a while."
I laughed and opened the door as she giggled. Hermione was still up, waiting. Hermione's a really good friend. Liliana, Ron, and I are really lucky to have her.
"So?" asked Hermione. "What was the problem?"
"Liliana's hair was golden streaked," I explained nonchalantly. Hermione's eyes widened, so I quickly added. "But it's fine now, really. I reckon she's taking a liking to it."
Hermione smiled slightly. "That's good news. So...see you and Ron at breakfast?"
"Yeah, see you." I turned and went back to the boys' dorms.
