Diagon Alley

Liliana's POV

Too bad Aunt Arabella couldn't come with us. It would've been fun.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. This eighteen year old girl called Nymphadora Tonks came to Aunt Arabella's house and picked me up. Now, we're in this place called Gringotts Bank, which was in this other place called Diagon Alley.

Oh no, I just died! You know why? 'Cause if you call her Nymphadora (Oops, I just died again!), she's gonna kill you! She only goes by her surname, Tonks.

"We've some to take some money out of Mr. Harry Potter and Ms. Liliana Potter's vault. Here is Ms. Liliana Potter, and here is the key." Tonks held up a tiny golden key.

The goblin looked at it closely. "That seems to be in order. I will have someone take you down to the Potters' vaults."

"Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions is the ideal choice there is also Twilfitt and Tattings, but I myself have a strong disliking for that certain store, so...which one would you like buy your robes in?"

"Madam Malkin's," was my short and quick answer.

Tonks smiled. "Let's go, then."

After Tonks and I got my robes and school books, and a kitten which I named Marin, we went to the wand shop. Ollivanders.

The shop was narrow and shabby. It was a tiny place, empty except for a single chair. There looked like to be thousands of narrow boxes piled neatly right up to the ceiling.

"Good afternoon," said a soft voice. It belonged to an old man, who was standing before them, his wide, pale eyes shining like moons through the gloom of the shop.

"'Afternoon, Mr. Ollivander," Tonks replied. "This is Liliana. Liliana Potter."

"Ah yes," said the man. "I wondered when I'd be seeing you, Liliana Potter. You look exactly like your mother, Ms. Potter. It seems only yesterday that your mother and father were in here buying their first wands. I still await your brother, of course. Let's try this. Maple and phoenix feather. Ten inches. Quite a good combination. Just take it and give it a wave."

I took the wand and waved it. I saw red, gold, blue, and bronze sparks shot from the end like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls.

Mr. Ollivander cried, "Yes, indeed, oh, very good."

Tonks applauded wildly. "Wow, Liliana, first try!"

"That'll be ten Galleons, Ms. Potter," Mr. Ollivander finished.

I took the golden coins from Tonks and put it on the counter. Then Mr. Ollivander bowed, and we left his shop.

Then Tonks apparated me back to Aunt Arabella's. I don't even want to talk about the topic of apparating in general. But...it made me feel so dizzy!

But before Tonks left, she handed me an envelope.

"Inside is your tickets for Hogwarts," he said. "First of September, King's Cross. It's all on your ticket."

I looked up to see a smiling Tonks. "Thanks so much, Tonks!" I replied gratefully.

"No problem, Lily. See you!" Those were her last words before she disapparated.
