Chapter 5: Jack

"DANTE!" Thea called out as she ran back to the house.

"What the heck?" Dante asked as Thea accidentally ran into him

"You gotta see this" She smiled and attempted to pull him to the carport with no success.

"What? What have I got to see?" Dante asked standing completely still, if he didn't want to move he wouldn't.

"The cars, they're up with the others" she smiled.

"You make no sense whatsoever" Dante replied.

"I know, it's more fun this way tho" she smirked

"Debatable" Dante replied and walked up to the carport after Thea.

"Look!" she squeaked gesturing to the cars.

"Are they real? I mean are you sure they're not images?" Dante asked

"One way to find out" She replied placing her hand on the bonnet/hood.

Dark Teal lightning bolts shot from the car up to Thea's injured shoulder.

The wound healed without a scratch as if nothing ever happened to it.

Thea immediately let go and looked at her hand.

"What the heck?" Bryn asked scared.

"Your shoulder" Dante added shocked.

"what about it?" Thea asked.

"It's completely healed. Not a mark on it" Bryn informed.

"That is useful, I don't fancy another trip to the hospital" Thea replied.

"Well since you're ok and the cars are here, why don't we do them up?" Dante asked looking between the pair.

"That is an idea I can get behind" Thea smiled.

"Good, Bryn, we will need some help, you in?" Dante asked

"Help my sister and her new friend renovate 2 random cars?" he asked. Thea and Dante looked at each other questioningly before Bryn spoke up again "Why not" he smiled.

(Two weeks later)

"For the 100th time, Jack hands off" Thea growled swatting Jack's hand away from her ass.

"Come on, a pretty girl like you, a handsome guy like me, we'd look good together" Jack smiled attempting to grab a hold of Thea.

"For the 101st time. NO! Now keep your hands off!" Thea warned pushing him away gently.

"But babe-" Jack began but was instantly cut off by a seriously pissed-off Thea.

"No. You don't get to call me that. Ethan doesn't get to call me that. NO ONE gets to call me that!" she shouted.

"You know you love it really" Jack replied with his usual sickening greasy smile.

"I rest my case. Now go away" she growled and turned back to Lili's engine.
Jack wouldn't take no for an answer, he crept up behind Thea and grabbed her hips.

But before he could do any more Dante appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Jack by the neck before roughly throwing him to the ground.

"When a girl says hands-off she means hands-off. Not put your slimy paws on me. Now if I ever see you touch another girl after she has said no. You won't live to see the consequences" Dante growled. Jack groaned weakly from the floor as he got up to try something else, even dumber this time. He stumbled forwards and swung a lazy uncoordinated punch at Dante, missing by a mile.

"Now I'm not a fan of beating up the defenceless, I fight with honour. But you are an exception you dirty prick" Dante sighed as he spun into a back kick that hit Jack square in the face. "Leave you a filthy excuse for a human!" Dante growled as Jack scrambled to his feet and ran off, or rather speedily wobbled.

"Are you ok?" Dante asked turning to Thea who instantly buried herself in his chest.

"Thank you. He's never left that quickly before" she whispered in relief.

"How long has he been bothering you?" Dante asked concerned

"Five years give or take" Thea replied. "ever since high school when I showed him a little kindness when he was in a dark place, he mistook it for flirting and has been at my house most days since, when i moved down here ten months ago he stopped showing up, I was free, until now" she explained

"Well, it stops now" Dante warned.

"Thank you. You're the best friend ever" she smiled.

"I know but you don't need to brag" Dante smirked

"Come on, let's get these cars sorted" she smirked back.

"As you wish" he smirked

(Another two weeks later)

"One tea, milk, one sugar," Bryn announced putting a mug of hot tea down on the workbench.

"Merci" Dante replied picking up the tea and taking a sip

"And one hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows" Bryn added setting another mug on the workbench

"Thanks, dude!" Thea yelled from around the corner.

Marie was now almost fully restored, all she needed was a new interior.

Lili on the other hand was a different story.

Dante could work day and night on Marie and could afford express delivery from the best companies.

Thea on the other hand had to still go and work 5 days a week and couldn't afford the best of the best or express delivery.

"Want some help round there?" Dante called out.

"I'm good!" came a fed-up grunt.

"That's Thea for can I have some help, please?" Bryn smiled.

"I guessed" Dante smiled back

"you called?" Bryn smiled as Thea appeared from under Lili's engine.

"No" she replied,

"What were you doing?" Dante asked

"Trying to get the old bumper off, it's fixed on good" She replied.

"Then what are you doing back there?" Bryn asked

"Pulling didn't work so why not push?" Thea asked in response.

Dante looked at the bumper, someone had done a lovely welding job on it that was for sure.

"On my command, both of you push" Dante ordered.

"F.A.B." Thea replied

Dante looked at Bryn confused.

"Don't ask" Bryn replied and climbed into the space where the engine should be next to Thea.

Dante smirked before a dark purple, almost black flame appeared on the end of his finger. He was proud of his gift and used it for good, however, he knew that he had to keep it secret or people would tie him up and experiment on him, humans were like that, anything they didn't understand got locked away in some dingy lab and poked with needles until it either died or broke out.

"Push it!" he called.

The bumper came flying off and trapped Dante on the other side of the workshop.

"Well, it's off" Thea smiled.

"You could say that" Bryn smiled running over to help Dante, closely followed by Thea.

(Time skip)

"Well, they're both fully restored" Dante smiled as Thea stood beside him, smiling.

The two vehicles sat in the workshop looking like they'd just rolled off the production line, good as new, in fact, better.

"Yep, I feel like going for a drive, you?" Thea asked looking up at Dante.

"Grab your keys, let's go" Dante smiled.

As the pair climbed into their cars they each noticed the same thing in the same place, a name, engraved on the dashboard in decorative cursive writing.

In Dante's Dodge Viper Convertible, the name read "Marie". In contrast, in Thea's Land Rover Defender 1-10 the name was "Lili" The two friends looked at the names with curiosity, before polishing them to perfection and starting the engines.
