Chapter 7
Lucy
Natsu grabbed my arm and dragged me downstairs to the janitors closet.
"N-Natsu!? What the heck?!" I yelled. Then it hit me. "Gray told you. Didn't he?" I said studying the floor. "Look, it's not that I was trying to hide it from you or anything, I just didn't think we were close enough to where I could ju-" He cut me off with a warm pair of lips on mine.
"Lucy," just hearing him say my name sent shivers down my spine. "When Gray and Gajeel told me what happend to you I was so angry I couldn't move. I felt so many emotions build up inside me all I could do was scream. It was one of the few times I could truely say I felt sorry for someone. Then Gray asked me something; he asked me how I truely felt about you." Natsu said. I was stunned beyond words. Not just from the kiss, but from everything that was happening.
"It hasn't stopped, you know. The bullying. Lissanna came up to me yesterday. She called me a slut and said I didn't deserve to be friends with you, and that I was just using you to get popular. Before you got here, people would push me into the lockers, hit me, and sometimes, some bums outside of the school would burn me with cigarette butts. And I haven't even shown you the worst." I lifted up my tear stained sleeves and revealed long, white lines along my wrists and arms. Scars. Some of them were old, Some from last night. "I hide my pain behind a smile and an oversized sweater. My dad takes me to therapy, but it doesn't help. My therapist is a drunk and somehow is only sober when he's with his boss or my dad." I said crying. Why was I telling him all of this? Was it because I trusted him as a friend, or something else? I looked up and saw Natsu's face, white as a ghost. I tried pulling my sleeves back down but Natsu stopped me.
"Don't. You don't need to hide. What you need to do is tell Gray and the others about this." Natsu said.
"I don't want them to worry about me. They think I've lived this down. They think I've moved past this." I started to cry harder. "If I tell them, they'll know that I let them down! I don't want to cause more problems for them."
"You'll never live it down until you tell them. You're surrounded by people who care about you. People who love you. People who want to help you, and one of them is standing right in this room." Natsu said taking my hand. My watery eyes met his onyx eyes that could melt a small glacier. He put his hand under my chin and slowly brought my face closer to his. When my face was only millimeters away from his, he whispered something, so faint, so small, but the word had so much meaning. "Love" Before I knew what was happening, the gap was sealed and his lips were on mine. A rush of sensations flew through me, but I melted into the kiss like chocolate. I don't even care about Lisanna, Loke, or even Gray right now. Because the only two things in the world right now are me and Natsu.
???
Don't get too comfortable Heartfillia. I know your weakness and I know his too. It's only a matter of time before he's mine. I will do everything in my power to ruin you. This is one fight you just won't win no matter how hard you fight.
Natsu
Timeskip after school
"So, just a warning, my dad can be a little, uh, invasive when it comes to personal matters." I said. Lucy was riding home with me to finally work on our project. Which was a little awkward given what happend earlier today.
"Can't be any worse than my uncle." Lucy muttered while writing something. I couldn't get a close look without crashing the car so I didn't think much of it.
"We're almost there. Just a few minutes." I said trying to soothe my nerves.
"Okay." She said not taking her eyes off of whatever she was working on. "I think I have a pretty good start for the project. I'll just have you look over it when we get to your place." She said. I decided to turn on the radio to clear the awkward silence, and Angel With a Shotgun was playing. I looked over to see and hear Lucy singing along under her breath. It was one of my favorite songs to so I decided to suprize her by singing along with her. Before we knew it we were having a full out concert in the front of my car. The song came to an end and the car pulled into my driveway.
"Well, that was fun." I said opening the door for Lucy. "M'lady" I said holding her door open. Lucy took my hand as we walked into my house. " Welcome to my humble abode!" I greeted as I flopped down on the couch. I was greeted by my dad when he jumped on top of me.
"Oi, get off of me you big log!" I screeched in surprise.
"NEEEEVER!" He scremed back. After about 30 seconds of him just sitting on my back he noticed Lucy standing in the doorway. He immediately stood up and composed himself; his hard glare settled on Lucy. "So this is the Lucy I've heard so much about."
"I've heard about you too. Natsu's told me all about how you're a great father!" Lucy said.
"Okay I know you're lying. Now, what did he really say about me?"
"He said you were an old geezer who always smelled like egg salad and farts." Lucy said and dad started laughing.
"Yup thats the Natsu I raised. I almost thought the wrong kid brought you home. I like her Natsu." Dad called out. "He did the cutest things when he was a kid. He used to walk around in nothing but his diaper wearing a pot on his head singing whatever song he learned in pre-school that day." Lucy started laughing like there was no tomorrow. I on the other hand turned beet red.
"W-What!? Oh-Oh My God!!!" Lucy laughed out.
"D-DAD! WHAT THE HECK!" Natsu yelled.
"Alright I'll leave you two alone now. I have to pack for Georgia." My dad walked from where Lucy was and over to me. "Take care of her." He whispered in my ear. I smiled.
"Of course."
OH MY GOD I'M SO SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT. I HAVE BEEN CRAZY BUSY! Arigatou minna.
