True monster

"Quintessents exist in this reality too, but 10,000 years ago, so exciting," Honerva read through books excitedly as Lance sat on the floor reading a book as well.

"Find anything interesting? Like what they do here?" Lance turned to her raising an eye brow.

"Probably same of what they did to you, but it says they're not solids, it's just energy and a liquid, I spoke to Aliz, she said there's a pool in one of the Druids lairs," Honerva told him setting it down.

"Wait what? Really? Who?" Lance smiled.

"Aw you two are so nerdy," Ezor walked in smiling.

"That's what alchemist does Ezor," Lance smirked at her as Honerva brought up a hologram.

"I thought you where just a regular scientist?" Ezor sat next to Lance confused.

"That's me, I'm trying to learn more alchemy when I work with her, but it's kinda different, like you have to be super smart, like King alfor, in the past you and him worked together," Lance glance at Honerva.

"Like your father?" Ezors smile fell.

"Yes and no, not in this reality, my father was only a king in my reality, I think that's why there was none of this Voltron weapon, it's in almost every book, Voltron," Lance flipped to a page as it had glowing words. He swiped on the page and they came up in a hologram square so they all could see.

"Voltron was lead by zarkon?" Honerva pursed her lips of her love.

"He became corrupted because of the power Voltron possessed," Lotor walked in and everyone jumped in surprise.

"He now is on his death bed, Haggar is trying to revive him," he didn't show any sadness of his fathers slow death but almost seemed happy about becoming an orphan, his mother in this reality was dead and zarkon will die... Honerva is what he knows is his family by 'blood'.

"Do you think I could see him?" Honerva looked at her son.

"Hagar informed me of his... State, but she hasn't even let me visit zarkon," Lotor had a hand on his back.

"You sound hopeful of him not surviving," Lance raised an eye brow.

"Zarkon is not the man he once was 10,000 years ago, he was once kind and cared of his people, my father died that day he made some foolish mistake," Lotor looked at the altean and he nodded understanding.

"What was the mistake?" Ezor asked.

"Letting power control him,"

"I feel in every reality zarkon has that part of him, zarkon didn't have this Voltron but he did crave control of four other societies, including altea, alfor feared he'd go further than just his friends planets..." Honerva looked down at her lap.

"His craving and arrogance is was got him killed, Alfors blade was just was what finished him," she sighed.

"We can make things right in this reality, you have control of your people this time," Lance smiled gently at his lover.

"You decide what the galra do just as Allura could with my people and armies did, don't make her same mistake," he stood up and Lotor gave him a soft look.

"She meant well," he whispered in lances ear and his eyes widen slightly and walked out of the room without looking back.

"Think you hit a nerve," Ezor watched the door close and Lotor felt guilt weld up in his chest.

"It wasn't that long ago altea fell, either reality, that was our home and those where his people," Honerva put a hand on her sons shoulder.

"I understand, I didn't mean to offend him," Lotor looked at the door but began walking after the altean.

"Lance," Lotor walked down the halls and went into their room seeing Lance reached for a book on the shelf.

He glanced at Lotor but opened a book looking through the texts.

"I didn't mean to upset you, Allura-" "allura's dead," Lance said flatly not looking up.

"I made a promise to her," Lotor walked over to him.

"To take care of you cause she knew she was going to die, she means well," he stood next to Lance looking at the other books.

"Those where he last words to me,"

"And she surrendered as her last words to me, I get that she's not the monster but she was not innocent," Lance snapped the book shut glaring.

"No one is, but-" "you don't understand Lotor, Allura has done horrible things, how to you think Hira found out about Keith and I? Allura wanted honor and control, she was my realities zarkon!" Lance raised his voice as the purple in his pupils sparked in anger.

"You still love Keith," Lotor stated.

"He will always have a place in my heart but I only love you... He was my first friend who wasn't Royal, an advisor, or a commander, Keith meant something to me, but you mean everything to me," Lance turned to him calmly.

Lotor looked at him as Lance made eye contact but looked down hugging his chest slightly as his arms hid in the Druid robes. Lotor smiled gently when Lance turned his back to him.

"I know you..." Lance heard behind him in a soft silky voice.

"I walked with you once upon a dream," Lotor sang softly grabbing lances hand and twirled him around and bumped into his chest.

"I know you~" Lotor spun him out and Lance covered his mouth, hiding his smile.

"That look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam," Lance burst into giggles as Lotor held his hand and pulled Lance back holding his waist gently and Lance clasped his hand on the galra's shoulder.

"And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem," he swayed Lance in his arms and extended his arm and Lance looped around him laughing softly with a smile.

"But if I know you, I know what you'll do," he grabbed lances waist and hoist him up in a spin as Lance held his shoulder.

"You'll love me at once..." Lotor trailed off putting Lance back on the ground. He forgot the rest of the song...

"The way you did once upon a dream," Lance sang smiling up at Lotor with blue staining his cheeks.
