(4) Invisible

Cory's POV
It didn't take nearly as long as I'd expected to learn a good bit about the two spectres that stood before me. Uni had explained to me that, in his former living years, he had been an artist. He'd had a lovely girlfriend, a part-time job, and made a good amount of money from art commissions. To a normal person, it would perhaps be disappointing how much he had lost when his life was snatched from him. Though he couldn't recall much from his murder, only the pain and the last few moments. I was smarter than he thought though, because I could tell that he was hiding something, but I hid my realization behind a bored expression, as always.

Tommy on the other hand, had a less interesting life. He could play guitar and harmonica, and it seemed that those two things were his only passions, aside from card games which, he had mentioned were a past-time of his. He was sum-what young, yet had still been living with his mom at the time of his death. He had been looking for a job, but was never hired due to the fact that he had dropped out of highschool during senior year. He'd had bad grades in school, and was obviously going nowhere in life. The way he explained it though...It made me think that he wasn't too bummed out about being dead.

When the two finished their explanations, they continued to press on and on about my interests. "Come on, please? Not even one thing?" Uni was attempting to pry. I shook my head, "My life is none of your concern. Why do you care, anyway? Shouldn't you be more worried about, oh I don't know, the fact that you're stuck on Earth instead of going into the afterlife or whatever?" I challenged. "Oh lighten up, Carl, we have some time." Tommy stated with a roll of his eyes. "What the hell did I say about calling me that, Tommy?" I grumbled. "You can't touch me, cream weasel. You don't scare me." He said with a laugh. I clenched my teeth, swinging my fist at him. He only smiled at my attempt, that is until his eye met my blue lense. He body stiffened in the familiar fear from before, and he looked down. "That's what I thought..." I said with a triumphant smirk.

"O-Okay, so now we know that you're a pretty angry person... That's... Helpful...?" Uni commented, inching closer to Tommy. I rolled my eye, "Whatever, let's just sort this stupid thing out." I sighed, begining to walk back to my room. The other two followed me, and as soon as I entered the room I sat on my bed. Tommy and Uni resumed their places in which they had originally been. Tommy lifted his legs, crossing them in the air and floating above the ground. Uni glanced at him and released an amused sigh, simply floating above the ground next to him. I spoke first, "So, you two came out of these necklaces, so I think we should figure out that part first." I decided. The two eyed the necklaces silently, then both their features morphed into that of distinct recognition.

"Dude, that one looks like my mask!" Tommy exclaimed, pointing towards the smiling charm. "And that one looks like a pug! I had one of those when I was alive." Uni mentioned. "Can you take 'em off so we can get a better look?" Tommy asked. I sighed, unclipping the necklaces and removing them from my neck. As I did this, I hadn't expected to look up and see that Uni and Tommy were gone. As I held the necklaces in my hand, I looked around impatiently. "Tommy? Uni? Where the hell did you two go?" I questioned. When nothing happened, I grumbled to myself, getting up to search for them.

Uni's POV
"What do you mean 'where the hell did you two go'? We're right in front of you, Carl!" Tommy exclaimed as 'Carl' seemed to lose sight of us. He then grumbled and got up, walking around calling our names. Tommy and I glanced at each other, them proceeded to follow the camera-faced boy. "Caaaaarrllllll, we're right hereeee!!!" Tommy whined impatiently. I hovered forward a bit as the boy stopped walking. As I phased through his body the only response I got was a light shiver from him. I turned around once I was in front of him, and I stood motionlessly ahead of him, wondering why he suddenly couldn't see us. The necklaces! I then realized, that must be the reason! I thought. He muttered a quiet, "I should've known they'd ditch me the second I turned my back.." He grumbled quietly. "No, no, the necklaces, dude, I think you need to wear the necklaces to see us!" I exclaimed in his face, but as expected, he didn't react.

"I don't think he can hear us, Uni." Tommy said in annoyance. "I can tell." I snapped back. "We have to get him to put the necklaces back on, that's gotta be it." I said as I looked at Tommy. "And how do you expect to do that?" He asked, hovering beside me. I thought for a moment, before the boy suddenly began to put the necklaces back on himself. "Well, that was easier than I expected." Tommy said quietly. As soon as the camera boy clipped the necklaces onto his neck, his lense widened and he jumped back. "ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE ME A FREAKING HEART ATTACK!?" He exclaimed, as I had been only inches from his face moments before. "Oops, sorry about that...We were trying to get your attention." I said apologetically, my face heating up in embarrassment. "Wait- You guys were there the whole time?" He asked. "Heck yeah, Carl, couldn't you tell?" Tommy asked in annoyance. With a glare in Tommy's direction, 'Carl' shook his head. "So...I can't see you when the necklaces are off.." He thought allowed. "That's good to know." He admitted with a smirk.

A/N I'm sorry about the long wait, it's unacceptable, I know. I won't make excuses, so anyways, I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY!!! BYE!!!

P.S. Here's some character art, I'll try to get Tommy, Jon, and Nick soon too.
