Paul pulled out of me with a heavy grunt, still pulsing and hard.

"Katniss that was jus-"

He noticed the drop of tear running down my cheek and was quick enough to wipe it.

"Katniss what's wrong?"

Everything.

"I- I don't know..."
I muttered about, feeling more tears well up in my eyes.

Paul sat me straight on the bed and cupping my cheeks, forced my face up to meet his gaze.

"Katniss we didn't do anything wrong. Stop blaming yourself"

I felt more tears blurr my eyes.

He kissed my tears, before pulling me into a hug and I couldn't help but to hug him back.

Right now at this moment, I felt safe in his arms.

He was so warm and smelled of home.
Nobody had hugged me like that in a while.
For the first time in years, I felt wanted. I felt needed.

I had forgotten everything about my marriage, Roger, Cecilia, everything.

"I love you Paul.."

I muttered softly, out of nowhere, almost absent mindedly.

"I love you too Katniss.."

I love you too Katniss.

I could almost feel a sharp pang in my heart.

I hugged him tighter, pressing his body closer to me and feeling his calm, relaxed breathing.

I don't know for how long we were seated there in each other's arms but it seemed really short. It was as if, time had stood still.

Paul slowly combed my hair using his long, tapering fingers and planted a kiss on the crown of my head.

"I don't want to go Paul..."

I sighed lowly under my breath, feeling shattered.

"Then don't!"

He brushed his hand against my cheek making me shudder.

"You know you can leave all of this and come to me."

My heart almost broke into pieces as I heard him say those words.

"What?"

"God Katniss, I don't want to sound selfish or anything, but leave Roger and come to me! You clearly aren't happy with him and you should be with someone who loves you, cares for you, worships you, someone who is willing to give you everything they have got, you should be with someone like me..."

"You know with me you don't have to worry about anything. I want to be with you Katniss. I want to kiss all your pain away..."
He cooed.

"Y-you... want to take me?"

"In a heartbeat!"

Then all of a sudden, everything felt just right.

His words, his affection.
Paul was right.

I attached my lips on top of Paul's and kissed him affectionately.

"I love you Paul"

"I love you too Katniss"
