Mitochondria is the Powerhouse of the Cell

Sixth period seemed to drag on for hours. The teacher, Mr. Murphy, seemed like a fun teacher, but Dean wasn't listening. All he heard was something about mitochondria. Dean was thinking about Cas.

Castiel was in Mr. Reynold's honors history class. He had always loved learning about the past. He was suspicious of Dean, though. He wondered why the most popular boy in school would want to be his friend. Was it all a trick? Did Dean just want to gain his trust so he could turn around and hurt him? He was so wrapped up in those worrisome thoughts that he didn't hear his name being called for attendance.

"Castiel? Hello, Castiel? Are you okay?" Mr. Reynolds asked.

"What? Yes. I'm fine. I was just... thinking," Cas replied.

"Thinking about what?"

"Friends"

"I didn't know you had any friends," a girl named Abby laughed. "I thought you were just a sad, pathetic, lonely, little-"

"Miss Smith, that's enough," Mr. Reynolds interrupted.

"Fine," she huffed, leaning back in her chair.

The rest of the hour went smoothly. Abby remained quiet, and Cas actually learned something. It was the next day that things went horribly wrong.
