Gone Too Soon
Some people touch us one time
It lasts for a lifetime
The first thing I remember
Is your smile
In that airport
Meeting strangers
You did so with
Arms wide open
A heart so pure
A 10 day trip
To the holy land
Bound us all
One way or another
But you
Oh my dear you
Were one of a kind
Makes me wonder
If you were an angel
All along
Just sent down to watch
Over us
In the warmest of ways
Big brother
Kind friend
Funny man
Multi-faceted
Child of the heavens
Though we all
Live in different corners
Of this lush, wonderful world
It's so small
We can almost touch
Then suddenly
Without warning
G-d called you home
Tears flow
Pain permeates
Us all
For we think
Of what could have been
Your wedding day
Your children
Grandchildren
We never got that chance
To hug you
Just one more time
Say I love you
Just one more time
See your smile
Just one more time
For you were
Gone too soon
Now while many
Suns and moons pass
Since that day
We will remember you
For your love
Your heart
Your passion
Your humor
Your humanity
Rest in peace
My friend
Someday we will
Dance with you up
Where the angels
Watch down
From now on
When I will think of you
I will smile
Your smile
Remember you at
Your very best
Always
You will be
A guardian angel
Forever more
