Visit To the Hospital
Chapter Three:
I rode my bike all the way to the hospital to visit my mother in her room.
"Mom, how are you today?" I asked.
"I'm doing fine. You need to treat me like you did or I'm not gonna stick around much longer," she chuckled.
"You can. You can let go. You can let go if you want to," I sniffed.
"Sweetie, I have a promise to keep and keep I shall!" Her breathing hitched and slowed down. She was breathing too slowly, and when she did breathe, it was barely.
"Mom, are you okay? Mom! Mommy! Stay with me!" I shouted, and she fainted. I started to cry on her.
"It's alright. The lack of oxygen makes her faint sometimes," the doctor told me.
"But her hands are so cold!"
"It's only because they are under oxygenated. She'll be awake in a few hours. Just give her some time," they said as I freaked out. I nodded and biked home.
"How was she today, Tess?" Grandpa asked. I put up a thumb, because I didn't want him to know what happened.
"Good," my dad sighed, "I don't want her going on us!" I skipped up the hard wood stairs and pranced into my green room.
"Phew. That was close," I sighed.
I picked up the black and white TV remote and turned on "Josie and the Pussycats." I laughed at Fiona's lame attempt at trying to keep her plan secret. The girl that played Josie was really pretty. I dosed off to sleep and had a dreamless night.
