River smiles.

Haden
(Laugh)
It's not too interesting. About the same story, really.

River

How so?

Haden
Well... My father died when I was young too. That's why my mother is the sole ruler back home. And my mother is putting pressure on me to wed. And...

He pauses for a moment, ceasing to walk.

River stops slightly ahead of him, looking back as she hadn't expected him to stop so suddenly.

Haden
(Saddened)
I lost a friend too. A few months back now.

He starts walking again and River follows alongside him.

Haden
But hey... That's the past, hm? No use crying over spilled milk, as they say.

River
I don't think that's true. If something's sad, you have a right to feel sad over it.

Haden
(Laugh)

The two walk, continuing to chit chat for some time.

Haden listens as River tells him a funny story from her and Stace's shared past.

Haden smiles.

That's mine too! But what specific type?

River rubs her chin in thought.

Wow, even better question. Hm...

It comes to her and she looks at him with her face alight.

River
Peach!

Haden
Awesome. You know what? Back home we have loads of peaches. If there's any in the castle kitchen today, I'll go in a bit and organize it to be served!

River
(Blush)

Haden

Haden smiles at her, making River's heart race.

River stops walking, and turning to look at Haden.

Hm? I don't get what you-

She grabs his shirt collar and pulls him in.

River
Just be quiet... Let this speak.

She kisses him on the lips, and soon Haden returns the favor, wrapping his arms around her waist.

Camera shows a side profile of their kiss, and cuts to show Stace rounding the corner. As she sees them kissing, not wanting to speak with River, she goes back the way she came, kind of angry.

Camera holds on to their kiss and fades to black.
