Gone Girls

Mr. Martin walked out of his daughters hospital room and instantly noticed Stiles and Stephanie, sprawled out on the chairs asleep. "They've been here all night?" He asked Melissa as she walked towards Stephanie, shaking her awake. "They've been here all weekend." Stephanie groaned at the harsh hospital lights before hearing Stiles a few feet away from her.

"You're dirty." Stiles muttered, kissing the air. Stephanie cringed at her friend, kicking him in the leg, making him shoot up. "Get up, Stiles. Let's get some food." Stephanie mumbled, grabbing Stiles' arm and leading him towards the vending machines.

Stephanie quickly put her money into the machine, typing in the code for a Mr. Goodbar and instantly taking a bite when she could. Stiles put in his money, typing in the code for a Reese's but before it could fall, the machine stopped. Stephanie bit back a laugh as Stiles grew more annoyed, banging on the glass.

"Seriously? Come on-" Stiles grunting, banging on the glass more and Stephanie stepped back, bringing a hand to her mouth to suppress her giggles. "Just... Ah!" Stiles groaned.

"It's not gonna work." Stephanie sang, taking a bite of her snack. Stiles turned to her annoyed. "You are no help."

Stephanie looked back and forth between Stiles and the machine before sighing, pushing him out of the way. "Let me try." Stephanie grabbed onto both sides of the machine, shaking it harshly before she felt it starting to fall on her. Stiles noticed, running up to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her into his chest just before it could fall on her. Stephanie stared at the machine in shock before walking up to it, picking up a Reese's, handing it to Stiles before grabbing his arm, pulling him away from the scene.

As they walked passed the front desk, a loud, high pitched scream rang through the air and suddenly, all Stephanie could see was purple.

She could hear the voices around her panicking about Lydia but any time Stephanie tried to move or talk, she couldn't. She could feel herself walking away from the hospital room and towards the exit and every single time Steph tried to move herself, she couldn't. She had no control.

Stiles, not noticing Stephanie walking away, ran towards Lydia's room. "Lydia?" "Lydia!" "What the hell was that?" Stiles, Melissa and Mr. Martin's words ran over each other, running into the bathroom finding the water still running and the window open.

Stiles turned around to Stephanie, freezing when he realized she wasn't behind him. "St- Steph?" Stiles called out, making Melissa look around too.

...

"Naked? As in, nude?" Sheriff Stilinski asked as they walked towards Lydia's hospital room. "I'm pretty sure they mean the same thing, but, yes, as far as we know, she left here clothing-optional." Melissa told him before sighing. "Steph's gone too."

The Sheriff straightened up at those words. "What do you mean?" "After Lydia screamed, we all ran to go and check on her when we got back, Steph was gone. But she didn't just go home, she left all her stuff here." Melissa told Sheriff, lifting up Stephanie's purse. The Sheriff sighed, bringing a hand up to his face. All right, you checked the whole hospital for both of them, right?"

"Every last corner." Melissa answered. "Nothing suspicious?" He asked again and Melissa shook her head. "Nothing. They just took off."

...

Stephanie felt as if she was in an out-of-body experience. She could see and hear everything perfectly fine but if she tried to move or even blink, she couldn't, her body would fight against her. The world she was seeing was if it had a purple filter over it. She felt the leaves under her feet crinkle with every step she took.

She was in the woods. That was what she thought at least. Surrounded by trees, not one sight of another person or place. Her body was walking as if it knew exactly where to go.

It was late at night, the sky almost pitch black so Stephanie could barely see five feet in front of her but when she heard a twig snap ahead of her, her eyes focused, almost as if it was focusing and clearing her vision so she could see what made that noise. She squinted before faintly seeing the outline of a hunched over girl. Stephanie took another step, leaves crinkling under her shoe, making the girl turn to Stephanie and as soon as their eyes met, Stephanie's eyes went back to their normal brown and she could finally move herself.

"Lydia?" Stephanie whispered to the trembling girl. "S-Stephanie?" Lydia whispered and Stephanie quickly realized Lydia was naked and quickly ripped off her jacket, and wrapping it around the girl. "What happened?" Stephanie asked quietly as Lydia mindlessly buttoned up the long jacket around her. "Something... something grabbed me. I don- don't know what it was bu-but-" "Its okay." Stephanie whispered, carefully wrapping an arm around Lydia.

"Lets just try to get back home. We're pretty far." She whispered and the two started slowly walking in the direction they came from.

...

"Let's go! I have an announcement. Gather round. Quicker! Danny, put a shirt on. Stilinski, that means you! Let's go, gather round." Coach screamed into the locker rooms and the lacrosse team circles him.

"Listen up. Police are asking for help on a missing child advisory." Coach subtly turned to Will, frowning at the boy who wouldn't meet anyones eyes. "It's two girls; one of them... happen to be sick, roaming around, totally naked."

Many of the boys wolf whistled, making Will clench his jaw, Coach sighed. "Now, it's supposed to get below 40 degrees tonight. I don't know about you, but the last time it was that cold and I was running around naked... I lost a testicle to exposure. Now, I don't want the same thing happening to some innocent girls. So police are organizing search parties for tonight. Sign up, find the missing girls, you get an automatic "A" in my classes." The boys cheered and Will was the first one to walk up to Coach, taking the pen and signing his name.

"Ohhh! Look at Saticoy here!" The guy in line behind Will cheered. Will slowly turned around, glaring at the boy, making him slowly back away. "My sisters out there. Asshole." Will spoke, his voice angry and low as he pushed the pen into the guys chest, making him stumble back a few steps. Will walked passed the group of boys signing up, thinking they all wanted to sign up to see Lydia naked, not noticing a certain Isaac Lahey was actually worried about Stephanie.

...

Isaac walked into class, keeping his head down to cover the bruise on his face as he trudged to his seat. He sighed as he flopped down, instantly noticing a certain annoyed girl wasn't sitting in front of him like normal. Isaac's shoulders slumped, realizing Stephanie wouldn't be in class.

...

Stephanie knew they were far into the woods when it took almost a full 24 hours to get back into town. She and Lydia walked towards the town cuddled into each other, using the other as their source of heat from the harsh bitter night.

Both girls were too cold to talk, barely being able to move but when they heard the sounds of police radios and could see ambulance and police lights shine in the distance, their moods perked up and even though they were completely freezing, they both kept pushing until they reached the edge of the woods where the trees and the streets meets.

Stephanie's eyes instantly fell on Stiles and his dad standing off by the police cars. She let out a breathy laugh, grabbing Lydia's hand and walked onto the street.

Stiles could see two figures coming towards him out of the corner of his eyes, making him turn his head and as soon as he saw Lydia and Steph, his eyebrows raised in shock and excitement.

"Steph? Lydia?" Stiles called out and once he knew it was for sure them he smiled. "Steph! Lydia!" Lydia turned to all the police and paramedics watching them and sighed. "Well... Is anyone gonna get us some more clothes?" She asked loudly, gesturing to her and Stephanie; Lydia only wearing Stephanie's jacket while Stephanie was in a tank top and leggings.

"Jesus. Yep, here you go." Sheriff mumbled, walking up to the girls as paramedics ran over with heating blankets.

...

Stephanie stayed in the back of the ambulance with Stiles, waiting for one of her parents to show up as the paramedics checked on her. "Steph, I just don't understand what happened." Stiles said as he sat beside her. Stephanie sighed, picking at her nails. "Neither do I." Stiles' face scrunched in confusion. "What?"

"I think there's something happening to me."
