Chapter Sixteen

Ashley's POV~

"Nope. I got this." Joe laughs.

"Hm. Sure you do." I smirk again.

"What's going on?" Alan asks, laughing.

"He called me 'Princess Sassy', and thinks that he can get away with it." I say.

"She called me 'Prince Dork'." He tattles.

"I love you, but you're annoying." I laugh.

"Nope. That's it." He smirks. He ran to me, and picked me up; slinging me over his shoulder.

Alan laughed as he walked off; and everyone else was outside.

"Nice butt." I laughed as I poked him.

"You have a nice butt too." He laughed as he did the same thing.

"Ahm." Rossi cleared his throat. Joe turned around faced him, but I couldn't see him.

"Yes?" I ask.

"Hotch needs you at the hospital; and what is going on?" Rossi asks, raising an eyebrow.

"What are you talking about?" I ask.

"Ah, young love." He mutters as he walks towards the door.

"Alright then. Wanna take me to the hospital?" I ask.

"Two dates in one day? Sure." He smiles.

"This a date? Okay." I laugh.

"Eh. As long as I'm with you, anything is a date." He shrugs.

"I would kiss you and say I love you; but I'm staring at your back." I say.

"Here," He says, tossing me onto the couch. I sat up and glared at him. "What? I thought you wanted down." He says.

"I did, but seriously?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

He nodded, "Yep."

I got up and wrapped my arms around him. "I love you." I said into his chest.

He kissed my head, "I love you too."

"We might wanna go before Hotch gets mad." I sigh, not wanting to leave the warmth and comforting feeling of his arms.

"Yeah." He mumbled. We walked out, calling a taxi.

Making it to the hospital in minutes, Hotch met us in the waiting room.

"What did you need?" I ask.

"Ms. Renyolds wanted to speak to you. Will you be okay by yourself?" He asks.

"Yeah. I'll yell if I need anything." I answer.

He nods, so I walk off towards Hailee's room. Getting somewhat nervous with every step.

I grabbed the handle, opening the door. I was met with Hailee laying there, with a smile on her face. I gave an awkward look, utterly confused as why she wanted to see me.

"Hello, Mrs. Stamper." She smiles sweetly.

"It's Agent Stamper." I corrected.

"Right. SSA Stamper." She smirked.

"Anyway, you wanted to speak to me." I say, crossing my arms.

"Yes. One thing; I hope you know that I'll never walk correctly. Ever again, because of this gunshot." She starts.

"About that; I'm terribly sorry. I really wished that I didn't have to hurt you. I hated that I had inflict pain." I apologize, being sincere.

"Hm? I'm pretty sure that you wanted too. Two; you need to watch your back. My sister was the one who threatened you. This was step one." She evilly smirked.

"Is that all? Just to taunt me?" I huff.

"Oh, but I'm not taunting you. I'm warning you." She grins.

"Okay. Is that all?" I ask.

"Yep. Bye-bye." She waves.

I groan and leave the room. Walking back to the waiting room. Joe's eyes met mine.

"What did she say?" Joe asks.

"Her sister was the girl who threatened me. Hailee said this was just step one, and that she's warning me." I sigh.

"We'll get Garcia on it. Right now; you and your family need to be careful. Watch your surroundings." Hotch suggests.

"Yes sir." I nod.

"Alright let's get back." He says.

He starts for the SUV. Joe takes my hand and we follow. Hotch gave us a ride back to the hotel. By time we got there, everyone else was inside.

We walked in and everyone was sitting on the couch or the floor watching a movie. We joined them; sitting on the floor. I sat in Joey's lap, with him playing with my hair; not even paying attention to the movie.

"What are you doing?" I whisper.

"Braiding your hair." Joe answers.

"Why?" I ask, slightly laughing.

"I dunno, it's fun." He whispers.

"You always find my hair amusing." I laugh.

"It's soft and beautiful, just like you." He whispers, feeling his hot breath on my ear.

"I'm jealous." I whisper.

"What? Why?" He asks.

"Because you hair is to fabulous." I joke.

He 'flips' his hair, "Thanks."

I turned to him, "You're such a dork."

He laughs, "But, I'm your dork."

"You are my dork." I smile, kissing his cheek.

"Sassy." He mumbled.

"What was that?" I ask jokingly.

"You're my sassy princess." He laughs.

"I am a princess." I smile proudly, placing my hands on my hips.

"No, you're my queen." He whispers, kissing me.

"You gotta stop changing your mind." I laugh.

"Nah. I'm sure about this one. Every King needs a Queen." He smiles.

"So you're a King?" I ask.

"Yep." He nodded.

"King Dork." I smile.

"Nah." He says. I shake my head at him and laugh. He laughs along with me, then leaning in to kiss me.

"I love you." I mumble.

"I love you too." He whispers.

I pulled away, and laid my head on his chest. Somehow, sleep consumed me.

Joe moved slightly, accidentally waking me. The room was completely dark, I grabbed my phone; checking the time. Almost 9.

At the point, I forgot that Brycie wanted me to text her. I slowly got off of Joey and walked to our room. I listened to the phone ring, hoping that she would answer. Then I remembered that we were in different time zones, her being an hour behind us.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey, Brycie. I'm so sorry, I forgot to text you." I apologized.

"It's okay. I just wanted to see how you're doing." She said.

"I'm okay, I guess. Just really stressed." I admitted.

"Why?" She asked.

I explained everything. From the first murder, to the threat, and to my attack. She was really getting worried. I assured her that I would keep our family safe; because the girls did not need to grow up without their father.

Then we talked about something else, keeping our minds off the current situation.

It was close to 11 here, so about 10 in Nash. Oh, how much I missed home. How much I missed my family.

"Hey, I'm gonna go. It's almost 11." I sigh.

"Oh, I completely forgot. Dumb time zones." She muttered.

"I know. It sucks. I really wish I could just come home and stay all night talking." I laugh.

"Yeah. Maybe when you get back we can send Alan and the kids to your house with Joe, and you could stay here." She suggests.

"We totally should." I agree.

At that point Joe came in, and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Who are you talking too?" He asks.

"Brycie." I mouth.

"Hey, I'll talk to you tomorrow, Rowe just got up." She sighs.

"Okay, talk to you then." I say, and hang up.

"How long were you talking?" He asks.

"Two hours maybe." I shrug.

"I'm tired." He yawns.

"So then go to bed." I laugh.

"Are you going bed?" He asks.

"I dunno. Why?" I answer.

"Because, I don't wanna go to bed if you're not." He whines.

"Why?" I laugh.

"I like cuddling. Especially with you." He jokingly whines again.

"Who else would you cuddle with?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"I dunno. A pillow?" He shrugs.

I laughed and hugged him, burying my face into his chest. "You're so weird."

"I know." He nods.

"I'm tired." I fake yawn, getting his attention.

"Really?" He smirks. I laugh and nod. He picks me up and lays me on the bed, then he crawls in too. He wraps his arms around me as I snuggled into his body.

Within minutes he was asleep, and I was so close. Just his calm breathing and heart was enough to put me asleep.
