Chapter Four
•Chapter Four {Finishing the Case}•
Ashley's POV~
Four days later we finished the profile, with only the death of one more couple, after the first three. Turns out my theory was correct. The Unsub was targeting the children, inflicting emotional pain on them.
"The Unsub is a male in his 30s. He probably met his victims at church or while volunteering." Hotch informs.
"He will not give himself up, he'll shoot his way out. He is not a coward, and proceed with caution. He is armed and dangerous." Emily warns.
"He's targeting families with an only child, about the same age, whom are single. Meaning he is most likely single also." Spencer says, figeting with his hands.
"He also targeting the stereotypical 'perfect' family. Good child, financially stable, suburban homes, good jobs, and religious. He depises these families. He grew up in a horrible manner." I inform.
Rossi added, "His parents were murdered also, around the same age of his victims, happened maybe a few years around this time."
"That's all. Thank you." Hotch said, excusing us. We had only been here for a four days, but we're so close. Garcia already had our profile, doing her thing, she was searching records.
We were going over public records. Overlooking our case files, looking at our notes, reveiwing our interrogations. Garcia called about 4pm.
"Hey, babygirl. Whatcha got?" Morgan greets.
"What do you have." I correct without thinking. Everyone stared at me. "Sorry, habit." I muttered.
"Micheal Dany." Garcia says. "He fits the profile perfectly. Now, my furry friends, go nail this guy."
"Thanks mama." Morgan smiles.
"You got it, baby." She cheers, then hangs up.
"You guys a thing or something?" I smile.
"No, you wish." Morgan teases.
"No. More like you wish." I tease back.
"Imma stop now. You basically live with four guys." He laughs.
"I'm going to." I correct, "I also hang out with a grammar freak."
"Let's suit up." Hotch demands, handing out FBI issued chest plates.
"Yes sir." We agreed. We put on the chest plates, and headed for Micheal's address.
It took about 15 minutes, but with Morgan's driving it took an average of 7.5 minutes. Once we got there, we had to wait for the others. They got here within minutes of us.
We decided to barge in, take him quietly. Morgan, Reid and I took the back door, while the others took the front. Morgan, the-door-kicker, kicked down the door. We sparsed around the house yelling clear.
Reid and I took the basement. We found Micheal, in the back room. Doing what we predicted, shooting his way out. He shot me once in the left arm, luckily it wasn't my dominant arm. Then I got a shot, and hit him in his dominant arm, disabling him. Reid and I made our way over to the Unsub, kicking away his firearm. Reid cuffed him, bringing him to his feet. Then we escorted him outside. I got a couple stitches, and a gauze to cover it.
We finished the case, apprehending the suspect and bringing justice to the families.
It was late, about 9pm. So, we stayed one night. I visited Joey's parents until about midnight before going back to the hotel.
I still wasn't tired, so I ended up calling Joey on facetime, hoping he would answer. Soon his face came to the screen, he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. I smiled, "Hey, babe."
"Hi, baby." He yawned.
"We finished the case." I smiled.
"Awesome. Did you get hurt?" He asked.
"Nothing too serious, I got shot in the arm. But I haven't slept in four days." I laugh.
"Aren't you tired?" He asks, raising his eyebrow.
"No. Surprisingly. Where's your next concert?" I ask.
"Washington D.C." He answers, "Why?"
"We sometimes get a day or two off after a case, and I wanna see you." I smile.
"I can't wait. I miss you." He whines.
"We're going home tomorrow morning, so I'll get home about 6am, then I'm hopping on a plane to D.C. So I'll be there about 10." I say.
"We'll be there. We're spending the day, and we'll leave the next day." He says.
My roommate, who happen to be Morgan, started to wake up. "Crap." I muttered.
"What's wrong?" Joey asks.
"Morgan, just woke up." I slightly laugh.
"Babygirl, whatcha doin'?" Morgan asks.
"Babygirl?" Joey asks, hinting a bit of jealousy. "You're sharing a room with him?"
"Baby, calm down. Seperate beds, you know that I wouldn't cheat on you." I say.
"But babygirl?" Joey asks.
"It's what he calls everyone. He's a giant flirt. Don't worry, I'm all your's." I smile.
"You're gonna be all mine when you get here." Joey flirts.
"Ooo. Someone wants his baby." Morgan teases.
"Morgan, this is my husband you're talking about, and I'm not afraid to tackle you." I warn.
"Joey, you got yourself a feisty one." Morgan laughs.
"Oh, lord give me the patience." I mutter to myself.
"Hey." Morgan whispers in my ear, making me jump. I quickly turn around and punch him in the chest.
"See, baby. I can protect myself." I laugh, while glaring at Morgan.
"I see that. Remind me not to make you mad." He teases.
"Yeah, but I'd never hurt you." I smile.
"Oo. Babygirl getting her flirt on." Morgan teases.
"Next time I'm sharing room Reid or Emily." I say.
"Oh, hurtful." He playfully sighs. I shake my head at him and then turn my attention back to Joey.
"My roommate is a complete dork." I yawn.
"I think someone's getting tired." He laughs.
"I guess." I yawn again.
"You should go to bed." He suggests.
"But I wanna talk to you. I haven't seen you in five days. I miss you." I whine.
"Go to sleep, and I'll see you tomorrow." He demands.
"Fine." I pout, "Goodnight, I love you."
"I love you too, now go to sleep." He smiles. He says goodnight and hangs up. I sit there for a few minutes, pouting.
I eventually fall asleep with exhaustion. Thinking about Joey, and seeing him for the first time in a week.
********
"Babygirl, gotta wake up." Morgan says.
"Have to." I correct.
"Whatever. Come on, I'm sure that you wanna see your loverboy." He huffs.
"Guh." I sigh, "I don't wanna get up."
"Come on, gotta see your loverboy." He teases. I sigh and get up. I quickly change in the bathroom before grabbing everything and leaving on the jet for Nashville.
Emily and Spencer sit next to me.
"How did you husband react to the gunshot?" Spencer asked.
"I told him it wasn't serious, so he didn't flip." I laugh.
"No, but he flipped when he found out that me and you were roommates." Morgan laughs.
"Joey's like that." I smile, "I just can't wait to meet him in D.C."
"You're flying to D.C.?" Rossi asks.
"Yeah. It's only been five days, but I miss him." I sigh.
"Awe, you're in love!" Penelope cheers. I jumped of course.
"Jeez, Penelope. Give me heart attack, why don't ya." I laugh.
"No problem doll." She laughs along.
"But yes, I'm in love. Almost for six or seven years." I smile.
"Wow. For that long?" Emily asks.
"Yeah. We were together for about 3 years before we got married. It'll be four years in July. So in about 4 months." I answer.
"Will and I have been together for about 8." JJ pipes.
"Don't forget about the two kids." Rossi smiles.
"Awe, two little, blonde cuties." I smile.
