A Golden She-cat stood on the flat, dusty ground. She was regarding a young kitten who was playing with his siblings, Dark amber eyes glowing fiercely, frighteningly.

The golden she-cat's hackles raised. That kit is nothing but a disaster waiting to happen! She worried, her ears flattening.

Her green eyes flashed with horror at the kit. " What are you staring at, Goldheart?" A soft mew asked her as a brown tabby tom joined her, sitting down next to her.

His green eyes were curious with worry for her. " Are you-are you still getting your tail meowed off for being an outsider?" He questioned, tail wrapping around her body.

" No, Groundstar. I-I don't think that Tom is anything but trouble." She spat, pointing a muscular paw at the queen's spitting image of a son.

" Lightningkit? He's a kit. Sure he might be trouble sometimes, but he will grow out of his anger with stern warrior training." Groundstar told her, nuzzling her with his muzzle.

" But I can't help wondering: ' what if he doesn't.'" Goldheart meowed, shivering. Why was it only her who could tell that this kit was going to be bad news? She surely didn't know her brother Riverlight would betray the clan like that, so how could she know that this kit is also a threat to the clan when she couldn't with her own brother?

" Don't worry, Goldheart." Groundstar sighed as if she were crazy. He probably did think she was at least a little mouse-brained for thinking that.

" If there's any signs of trouble we will tread carefully, now relax, my mate. Lightningkit is going to turn into a fine GroundClan warrior."

I only wish I truly believe that. Goldheart thought as she turned her head back to the kitten. Lightningkit was totally engrossed in his game. So much so, that he only looked up one time.

That one time was when he looked straight up at Goldheart with the eyes of destruction, and Goldheart shivered. Oh Quillberry, what kind of monster have you kitted?

Authors note: Goldheart suffers from Pistanthrophobia which is the fear of trusting. She doesn't trust anyone in the clan except for her siblings and Groundstar, so that's why she's fearful of Lightningkit. Just wanted to clear that up. Hope you enjoyed. Sorry it's a short Prologue. That's all I wanted to express with this. Goldheart will be a major character in this story as will some others, so pay attention to the scenes with her and some other cats. I will express some other disorders that cats have probably in each chapter if there is one that a specific cat has. Anyways, I hopefully will get back to this sooner than I did with Riversplash's Defeat.
