All we had to do was eat chocolate?!

Ever since the day Professor Snape had escorted Harry away from the mirror, Harry had reoccurring nightmares of his family being taken away from him. He opted to studying late into the night so he didn't have to sleep. Unfortunately for him, the sleep deprivation and constant paranoia made the nightmares even worse. He tried telling Draco about his nightmares in a letter, but Draco told him to stop being so childish. On top of all that, they still hadn't found who Nicolas Flamel was yet.

Harry had stopped going to meals throughout the remainder of the break and spent his days in his dorm curled up with a book. He looked forward to seeing the tray of food appear beside him three times a day and felt lonely when he sat there eating alone. Emmer and Meredith had a bit of a row on Boxing Day, so Harry stayed in his dorm all of the time in order to avoid the two. He couldn't wait for his friends to return to Hogwarts.

On the day before the new term, Harry greeted Draco in the entrance hall and enveloped him in a hug. Draco tensed up and patted his back once before pushing the shorter boy away. He raised an eyebrow at him and tilted his head in confusion. Harry cleared his throat in embarrassment and quickly tried to come up with conversation.

"It's nice to see you Draco," Harry breathed out, "Have you found anything about Flamel?"

Draco shook his head and continued walking with Harry down to the dungeons. He walked close to Harry and lowered his voice.

"Unfortunately, no. I searched a good majority of the library, but Father became suspicious since I've never spent more than three hours in the library let alone days. Have you found anything then?" He asked.

Harry shook his head and walked down the stairs to the dungeons.

"Maybe Hermione will have found something," Harry suggested, leaping off the last three stairs.

Draco rolled his eyes and scoffed.

"She's a mudblood Harry. Why in Salzar's name would she have information regarding a wizard at her muggle home?"

Harry shrugged and blushed slightly at his own stupidity. Draco and him walked into their dorm to see Blaise and Vince unpacking their things. Blaise nodded at them as Harry sat down on his bed, Draco doing the same.

"So what's this about you having nightmares over the break?" Draco asked, scooting more onto Harry's bed.

"I-uh.. It's kind of personal.." Harry stuttered, looking away from Draco.

Draco nodded and snapped his fingers a few times, getting the attention of Blaise and Vince.

"Crabbe, see yourself and Blaise out of the dorm until I say to come back in. I'd like to have a private discussion," he ordered.

Blaise laughed and cocked an eyebrow at Draco.

"If you think you can start ordering me around, then you've got another thing coming, Malfoy," Blaise stated, putting his hands on his hips.

Draco shrugged and got up, giving Blaise a sly look. A mischievous grin played on his lips as he stepped forward.

"Alright Zabini. If you and Crabbe don't get out right now, then I'll have Pansy tell the whole school about what you did at the Christmas party," he threatened.

Blaise's face turned red and he started sweating. He narrowed his eyes at Draco and scoffed.

"Fine then," said Blaise, pushing Vince out of the dorm and following. He even made sure to slam the door behind himself.

Draco chuckled and sat back down next to Harry. Harry raised his eyebrows at him in surprise.

"So tell me about those nightmares," said Draco.

Harry nodded and immediately launched into the story of how he received the invisible cloak and what he saw in the Mirror of Erised. Draco had a shocked look on his face when Harry finished his story.

"You have an invisibility cloak?" Draco shouted.

Harry nodded and went into his trunk to get it. He got it out and gave it to Draco. Draco examined it in his hands, turning it over a few times and anazlyzing the material. He put it around himself and jumped when he saw his body vanish. He turned to Harry with a look of amazement on his face.

"This is amazing! This was your father's then? Harry, there's so many uses for this, I don't even know where to begin! It's so valuable.." He ranted, taking the cloak off and handing it to Harry.

Harry smiled and stored it back into his trunk. He sat back on the bed and turned to Draco.

"And what's your thoughts on the mirror?"

"Well, it's strange, I'll tell you that. I don't believe I've ever heard of something like that, or even if I have I don't remember it. It shows one's deepest desire?" He asked with a strange voice.

Harry nodded and stared at Draco. Draco had an odd look to his face and appeared to be thinking. He got up and sat on his own bed, kicking off his shoes and laying his head on his pillow.

"Hey, Draco.. Are you okay?" Harry asked, getting up.

"Hmm? Oh, yes. It's just been a long trip and I'm tired. Why don't you go talk with whatever other people you talk to for some reason," Draco replied, sounding tired.

Harry nodded and left the dorm, avoiding a very angry looking Blaise in the common room. He went up the stairs and went to the library in search of Hermione. He found her in the back returning some books she checked out over the holidays. She noticed him walking to her and smiled, putting the book in her hand back on the shelf.

"Hermione! Hi, have you found out who Flamel is?" He asked, lowering his voice.

To Harry's surprise, Hermione nodded and pulled a card out of her bag. She gave it to Harry and started to explain it.

"Neville sent me some chocolate frogs for Christmas, which was very sweet of him, and when I opened up the first package, the card inside was about Dumbledore, but reading closer, it mentions Flamel! I'm sorry I didn't write to you that I found it, It's kind of hard to send letters to the wizarding world when you don't have an owl," she said.

Harry smiled brightly and read the card to himself.

Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the Dark Wizard Grindelwald in 1945, for the discovery of the twelve uses of dragon's blood, and his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel.

Hermione chuckled when Harry jumped with a big smile on his face. She hadn't seen him so excited since he came back with a good mark on his Transfiguration assignment at study group one day. She couldn't help but laugh herself. She abruptly stopped laughing and gasped to herself, immediately running over to a shelf and picking up a thick book on the third shelf. She flicked through some pages and gasped, motioning for Harry to come to her.

"What is it Hermione?" Asked Harry, jogging over.

Hermione shoved the book into Harry's hands and pointed at a paragraph at the bottom.

"I checked this book out over break for a bit of light reading-"

"Light?" Harry interrupted.

"Would you let me finish? So I checked this book out over break, right, and I never really thought to look in here, but there it is! Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the Sorcerer's Stone!" Hermione whispered dramatically.

Harry stared blankly at her.

"The what?"

"Oh, honestly, don't you read? Look- read that, there." She pushed the book toward them, and Harry read:

The ancient study of alchemy is concerned with making the Sorcerer's Stone, a legendary substance with astonishing powers. The Stone will transform any metal into pure gold. It also produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal.

There have been many reports of the Sorcerer's Stone over the centuries, but the only Stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicolas Flamel, the noted alchemist and opera lover. Mr. Flamel, who celebrated his six hundred and sixty-fifth birthday last year, enjoys a quiet life in Devon with his wife, Perenelle (six hundred and fifty-eight.)

"See?" Hermione said when Harry finished reading. "The dog must be guarding the Sorcerer's Stone! The card said they know each other, so Flamel must've asked Dumbledore to keep it in the castle because someone was after it! The Stone must have been moved out of Gringotts!"

"Wow. A stone that makes gold and stops you from ever dying!" said Harry. "No wonder Quirrell's gone after it! Anyone would want it."

"I still think we should keep an eye out for Snape," Hermione said, "We don't know if it's Quirrell."

Harry rolled his eyes and put one hand on his hip.

"Hermione, I know you're brainy and all, but trust me on this. Snape wouldn't go after it. I mean, the guy already seems to hate life, do you really think he'd want to live forever?" He asked.

Hermione shook her head and chuckled.

"No, I suppose not. But he's still shady,"

"No denying that," Harry replied with a laugh.

Hermione laughed too, and placed the book back on the shelf.

"Are you going to go tell your arrogant blond friend about the discovery then?" she asked.

"Oh, yeah I probably should. Thanks for finding the information. I'll talk to you again at study group!" He told her, walking out of the library.

"Make sure to have chapter nine section three done!" She called out, immediately running out of the library too, when she spotted an angry librarian rounding the corner.

Harry ran down to the dungeons and into his House. He pushed Vince out of the way, who was still standing in the common room, and ran into the dorm. Draco was still laying on his bed when Harry ran to his side and stood there trying to catch his breath. Draco got up and eyed Harry, giving him a questioning look.

"Hermione- has information- about Flamel," he breathed out, gasping for air.

Draco widened his eyes and sat up, patting the spot next to him for Harry to sit down.

"Did you really run all the way down here? Get your breath back and then explain everything you know to me," he said.

Harry did as he was told and sat next to Draco, regaining his breath. Once he steadied his breathing, he launched into an explanation of who Flamel is.

"Woah. So, we now know who Flamel is. And what do we do with this information exactly?"

Harry opened his mouth to speak and closed it. He really didn't know what to do next. They found out who Flamel was, but what are they to do next?

"We could tell a teacher that Quirrell is going after the stone," Harry suggested.

Draco scrunched up his nose and shook his head.

"And why would we tell a teacher? Who would we even tell?"

Harry thought for a moment before answering.

"We could tell Snape?"

Draco shook his head.

"Yes because we're just going to casually walk up to Snape and say 'Oh by the way we know about the Sorcerer's Stone being hidden in the castle and guarded by a Cerberus. Quirrell is going after it by the way.'"

"Okay so how about this, if anything else happens with Quirrell or the trapdoor, then we'll tell Snape," Harry said.

Draco nodded and shrugged.

"Fine. If anything else happens, then we'll tell Snape," Draco said.

Just then, someone cleared their throat behind them. Both Harry and Draco jumped and turned toward the sound. Standing in the doorway was Snape with his arms crossed.

"Tell me what?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

Harry gulped and started fidgeting. Draco's eyes started darting around the room and he shifted around. Snape closed the door behind him and stepped closer to the two nervous boys.

"I came up here to ask why Mr. Zabini was threating Mr. Nott over something that happened at a party at your family's manor, but now I see there may be something more important I should be aware of," Snape said.

Draco shook his head and looked up at the Professor.

"I don't know what you're talking about, sir. You must've heard wrong," Draco lied.

Snape grabbed Draco by the shoulder and hoisted him to his feet. He stared down at the student with threatening eyes and tightened his grip on Draco's shoulder.

"Don't. Lie. To. Me."

Draco started sweating and cleared his throat. At that moment, Harry got up and stood next to Draco. He made eye contact with his friend and the blond shrugged.

"Please sir, we were debating on whether or not to tell you about the Sorcerer's Stone and our suspicions on it," Harry said.

Professor Snape's eyes widened and he flicked his wand toward the door, slamming it open.

"Both of you, to my office, follow me now," he ordered, and the two boys obediently followed.

Once in the office, Snape slammed the door shut and pushed both of the boys into seats in front of his desk. He lit a bunch of torches around the room with a flick of his wand and turned toward the boys.

"What do you know about the stone?" He asked.

Harry and Draco looked at each other before Harry started speaking.

"All we know about it is that there's a guy named Nicolas Flamel and he wanted his stone moved into the castle because it wasn't safe at Gringotts, and it's being guarded under a trapdoor by a Cerberus: Fluffy. We think Quirrell is trying to go after the stone though and we think he's the one who set the troll loose on Halloween in order to distract everyone so he could steal it." Harry said.

Snape pinched the bridge of his nose and paced the room. He sighed deeply after a few minutes of pacing and looked over at the boys.

"Are you the only two students who know?" He asked.

Harry shook his head.

"Hermione Granger knows everything we know and Neville Longbottom only knows about Fluffy," Harry told him.

"Fluffy. Of course that's what Hagrid would name it.." Snape muttered to himself. "I told Albus that housing the stone in the castle was a terrible idea.."

"Sir?" Draco said.

Professor Snape turned to the two boys and crossed his arms. He narrowed his eyes at the two and stepped forward.

"Nobody else can know. Do I make myself clear? Tell Miss. Granger and Mr. Longbottom to keep what they know to themselves and that also goes for the two of you. I also have my suspicions about Quirrell, so, without making it obvious, keep your guard up around him. Don't be alone with him and especially don't let him know that you know about the stone. Understand?"

The two boys nodded and the professor uncrossed his arms.

"Verbal answers please."

"Yes Professor," the two boys chorused.

He nodded once and flicked his wand toward the door, slamming it open and startling the two boys.

"Remember what I said and follow my instructions or you will be sorry," he told them, ushering them out of his office. He slammed the door behind them and started to pace the room again, muttering to himself.

Draco blinked once and then grabbed Harry, leading him to the end of the hall.

"Well now he knows," Harry said.

"Yes. Now you have to tell that muggleborn and the blood traitor to keep their mouths shut so we don't all get in trouble," Draco replied.

Harry rolled his eyes and pushed Draco lightly.

"Don't call them that, Draco," Harry said.

"Fine. But I'll be thinking it you know."

"You're so difficult."

Draco smirked. "You know it."
