Chapter 4

I felt the leaves crunch under my paws, the chilly leaf fall is the first sign for scarce prey.

Moonshade yawned, bags were clearly visible under his eyes.

There was movement under a bush at the corner of my eye. I whipped around and jumped in the bush looking through the leaves until a small mouse darted out beyond my reach.

Moonshade glared at me. "We're not hunting today!" He said in a low growl.

'Woke up in a badgers den?' I thought. He's so grumpy today! Was he up all night?

Moonshade came to a stop at a small clearing.

I started down and skidded to a halt and waited for moonshade.

"When cats stand on their hind legs to fight opponents, the opponents have an advantage by grabbing your tail and tripping you, I'll teach you to balance on your hind paws while hiding your tail so you can confuse them and attack the the right moment." Moonshade said yawning again!

I nodde and stood up in defense. I tucked in my tail and instantly fell over. "Oomph! This is too hard! It's impossible!" I complained.

"You've only tried it once! Quit complaining and actually practice!" He growled.

I pinned my ears back. I've never seen him like this before!

When the sun was just setting I managed to take a couple swipes without falling over.

Moonshade seemed less grumpier as we headed back to camp.

Just as I could see camp entrance I smelled the foul stench of a clan I had not yet learned about. I whipped around, fur fluffed and noticed a tall dark gray she cat with pretty yellow eyes.

Moonshade noticed her as well. "Are there more windClan cats with you!?" He asked in a low growl.

The she-cat shook her head. "I come to speak with Ravenstar." She said in a powerful feminine voice.

Moonshade eyed her with suspicion than turned around leading her into camp.

'Was this safe leading an enemy into our camp?' I thought.

"You can trust me, I'm wolfsong." She said as if she could read my mind.

I stared at her with surprise than nodded. "I'm sparkpaw." I said quietly.

"Apprentices are usually more energetic than you." She replied.

Silvergaze bounded up to moonshade. "Moonshade how's the trai-" she was cut of and glared at wolfsong. "What is she! Doing here!?" She asked with attitude.

"She said she must speak with Ravenstar..." Moonshade said and escorted wolfsong to the leaders den.

'Why are my parents on edge?' I thought.

Boltpaw entered the camp with sapphirefur, as a squirrel hung from his jaws. (I forget their mentors so I'm just guessing)

"Nice catch!" I commented.

Boltpaw dropped his kill in the pile.

"Hey have you noticed moonshade and silvergaze a little.... Uh.... Weird?" I said looking for words to describe them.

Boltpaw shook his head. "I haven't really been near them, apprentice duties." He said eyeing his kill.

"Oka-" I was cut off as a loud growl was heard from the leaders den.

Stormwind padded in to check on them.

I stared at boltpaw and nodded. "I'll be right back." I said and decided to eavesdrop.

"I'm here to take back my kits." Wolfsong said. (Lol I decided to twist the story for a little fun)

Ravenstar growled. "They belong in thunderclan! They need to stay with their father!" She hissed.

'Kits? Does she mean birdkit and stonekit?' I wonder. We had rescued them both assuming they were rogues a while ago along with their father, we gave him the name of gustfeather.

Stormwind stared at Ravenstar. "Id much rather have my kits stay with you, I think kits deserve their mother." Stormwind replied.

"But we can't just give them up!" Ravenstar snapped.

"Than windClan will fight for the kits if we have to!" Wolfsong said powerfully.

Stormwind stared at her. "Your at a risky place announcing war, as you can see... Your outnumbered, theirs only one of you." Stormwind said pointing his tail at thunderclans clearing.

'War?' I thought.
