Two

Eddy looked at the happy girl who came with her mother half an hour ago to buy her first violin. He smiled because the girl was almost flying when she realised she now has her own instrument.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I forgot my wallet and my phone at home!" the girl's mother exclaimed. "We live not so far from here..." she stopped talking for a few seconds and looked at her daughter. "Can you stay here and wait? I'll be back in 20 minutes," she asked the girl.
"Yes!" the girl nodded. Eddy was surprised by how confident the girl was. She was tiny but agreed to stay here by herself.
"Good!" and the woman turned to Eddy. "Can you look after her? She's a good girl. I'll be back faster if she stays here."
"Yes, of course," Eddy answered. He hoped that without her mother, this girl will be as happy and quiet as now.
"Thank you so much! I'll be back as fast as I can!" the woman said.
"Be careful!" Eddy didn't like it when people were in a hurry.
"Thank you!" she repeated and walked away.

The girl looked at Eddy with a smile and went to the couch to sit, "I will be here," she said. Eddy nodded.

There were quite many customers today, so Eddy was busy helping them. But he kept looking at the girl, who was sitting on the couch and listening to people talking about the instruments.

"What's happening?" Brett asked and looked at the girl for a second while walking to the cash register where Eddy was standing.
"Her mother forgot her wallet," Eddy answered, looking at Brett who was searching for something on the table. "Wait," Eddy said and straightened Brett's shirt collar.
"Thank you," the older man smiled, then went back to the customer and brought them paper and pen. The girl looked at Eddy and then at Brett carefully, noticing their every gesture.

Her mother haven't returned after 20 minutes, but the girl was quiet. She was staring at Brett while he talked to customers and laughed friendly sometimes. And then she turned to Eddy, who was playing the violin that the man was going to buy. The girl, hearing the music, smiled brighter than anybody.

Even when lunchtime came, the girl's mother haven't returned.

"Hey," Eddy sat next to the girl. "How are you?"
"I'm good! I like your store. And this man," she pointed at Brett.
"Yes," Eddy laughed and turned his head to Brett. "I like him too."
"Is he your husband?" the girl asked lightly. Eddy's cheeks turned a little red, and he looked down.
"N-no," he looked at Brett again. "Not yet."
"Oh..." the girl sighed and looked at Brett too. He was asking for a customer's feedback over and over again to make sure that everything is okay with the instrument.
"Do you know where your mom can be? We are going to close the shop in an hour," Eddy asked. "Maybe you remember her phone number?"
"No," she mused for a couple of seconds. "My brother is sick, so he stood at home. Maybe mom's helping him with something," the girl talked calmly, so Eddy calmed too.
"Okay. Do you want something?" Eddy looked at Brett, who was walking towards them. The last customer's just left the shop.
"Can you please give me some water?" the girl asked.
"Yes, of course. Wait a minute, and I'll bring you water," Eddy looked at Brett, who was standing next to him. "Her mother still on her way. Can we order a takeaway?"
"Yeah. But my phone is at home," Brett sat next to the girl.
"Okay," Eddy went to the flat to bring a glass of water for the girl and order the food.

Brett was sitting next to the girl in silence and thinking about her confidence and calm. She wasn't afraid to talk to Eddy and sit in the shop by herself at all.

"What's your name?" she asked.
"I'm Brett. And you?" Brett smiled as the girl whispered his name, trying to remember it.
"I'm Mairy," they shook hands. "Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too," Brett smiled.

They were sitting in silence for a minute. Mairy was thinking about something and looking at her hands.

"Brett, you are sunflower," she said suddenly, and Brett turned his head to her.
"Why?"
"Because all flowers need the sun to live, but only the sunflowers have the sun in its name. So, without the sun sunflower would become just a flower, but the sun makes it special. I love sunflowers because they turn to the sun to see it as long as they can. They love the sun so much," she stopped talking for a second. "Oi, look! If sunflowers have the sun in its name, they can be the sun for each other!" she pointed to Brett and said, "You are sunflower!" and then she smiled happily and pointed at Eddy, who was walking to the couch and looking at his phone, "And you are sunflower too!".

Eddy looked at Mairy with confusion in his eyes but then smiled.

"Your water," he said and gave a mug to the girl carefully.
"Thank you," she took a mug.
Eddy stood behind Brett and put his hand on Brett's shoulder. "So, what are we gonna do?" he asked.
"Can you tell me about the violin?" Mairy asked, putting the mug on the table. "I've never had lessons before, but I want to know about it."
"Okay," Eddy said with enthusiasm. "But our violins are at home, so I need to go there again." And he walked to the flat.
"And what do you wanna know?" Brett asked Mairy.
"Everything!"

"And that's how it works. For everything else, you only need to practice!" Eddy was explaining, sitting on the floor near the couch.

The door to the shop opened, and the girl's mom walked in, breathing hard.

"I'm so sorry," she said, trying to catch the breath. Mairy ran to her.
"It's okay," Brett said, standing up. "Take a seat."
"No, no, no, thank you so much! We've already taken up a lot of your time. And we have to go," the woman finally caught her breath and smiled.

They paid for the violin they're picked earlier, and then walked away.

"Goodbye, sunflower!" Mairy said from the doorway and waved her hand.
"Bye!" Brett waved his hand too. Eddy smiled, looking at him.
"Why the sunflower?" the taller man asked after the door closed.
"Oh, she said that the sunflower..."
