Saved But at a Cost
Sagestar clawed at the ground as the Dark Forest tom dragged her from the group. "No!" She hissed, her eyes wide and petrified. Where is he taking me?! Her gaze locked with a small white furred apprentice; Frostpaw, her only kit. "Frostpaw!" She stared at him as he tried to push past the other Dark Forest cats to get to her. She couldn't leave her kit alone to NoName's wrath. She had to get free.
The Smallclan leader kicked at the ginger tom and her hind leg caught his cheek. He let out a soft hiss of surprise, but he didn't let go, his grip only got tighter. She let out a low growl and wriggled violently in his hold, finally getting free. As soon as she felt his jaws leave her scruff, she started running desperately back to her captured clan.
Barely a heartbeat after she started running, the tom landed on her back and pinned her down. He leaned down so that his breath tickled her ear fur. "Please, Sagestar, stop fighting me." His voice was strained with worry as he spoke. "I'm rescuing you."
Sagestar didn't believe him and continued to fight. "No! I have to get back to Frostpaw you fox-heart!"
As she struggled, the ginger tom glanced briefly up at Frostpaw, his eyes narrowing. After a few heartbeats of silence, he murmured in her ear. "I can't get him right now. But I'll come back for him before it's too late."
"Lies." She snarled. "Who are you? Why are you doing this?"
The tom hissed and dug his jaws into her scruff. "Just be quiet and let me carry you."
Sagestar let out a slow sigh, panting from her struggles. "Fine." She grew limp, her eyes closing in defeat.
She heard the tom sigh in relief as he started to drag her across the ground. It wasn't long before he let her go and sat calmly beside her, his pelt brushing against hers. She stayed limp, pretending to sleep. She felt the vibrations of a chuckle run through his body before a paw was placed on her shoulder and they were suddenly teleported somewhere else.
Sagestar let out a soft yowl of fright as they appeared in a snowy clearing. Her stomach turned from the sudden movement and she coughed, nearly throwing up on the snow covered ground. After she successfully held down the vomit, she looked up at the tom, gasping in surprise when she saw the white furred rogue from Lightclan smiling down at her.
She backed away, her eyes wide. "What happened?!" She demanded, her pelt fluffing up against the sudden cold of the snowy forest they had somehow appeared in.
"You're safe, Sagestar. NoName can't get to you here." The white tom meowed, pacing closer to her.
She stared at him, her body rigid. "What about everyone else? Why save only me?"
"Because you are my stepdaughter." He replied simply.
She was confused. "You knew Paleheart?"
"Was that the she cat who raised you when you left Lightclan?" When she nodded, he murmured. "Well, I'm Skystar's new mate."
"Oh." Sagestar blinked. Skystar's new mate. She couldn't remember the last time she had seen her mother. She looked up at the white tom. "What's your name?"
"Zeye."
She looked around the snowy forest they stood in. "I'll ask more questions later, but for now I want you to rescue my kit."
"The little white tom with a black tipped tail?" Zeye asked.
"Yes." She nodded. "Please, I can't lose him. We have already lost too many of our warriors." She hated how she couldn't save what remained of Smallclan, but at least her kit would be safe with her.
Zeye had already blinked away, leaving her alone in the freezing cold forest. But she didn't feel alone. It was like someone was watching her.

Zeye blinked back to the outskirts of Lightclan camp. He changed his form into a blue furred tom, his eyes melting into a dark amber.
Peering over the bushes, he saw the camp was empty. He pricked his ears when he heard NoName's voice coming from the meeting clearing. "-kind of behaviour deserves a punishment."
Zeye quickly blinked closer and looked through the bushes to see a Dark Forest warrior holding Frostpaw down on his back, pinning his legs down so that he couldn't move. NoName glared down at the gathered cats. "I would've thought Horseblaze's death knocked some sense into you mouse-brains, but it seems we need to kill this apprentice in order to really get you to understand." Her thick red tail flicked, signaling the tom holding Frostpaw down to kill him.
Zeye's eye's widened and he lunged into the clearing. "No! Stop!"
All eyes turned to him and NoName snarled. "Who are you?"
Good job Zeye, how're you going to get yourself out of this one? He thought to himself, glaring up at NoName. "Why bother killing him? He could be useful."
"Oh really? Well, too bad." NoName laughed and shook her head, nodding at the tom holding Frostpaw down. The Dark Forest warrior unsheathed his claws and sliced them over Frostpaw's neck.
Zeye moved as quickly as he could, blinking right over to the tom and knocking him over. He didn't care if he identity was ruined, he couldn't let Frostpaw die. He had to bring him back to Sagestar. Within a heartbeat, the tom was laying dead on the ground with a crushed head and Zeye turned to Frostpaw, reaching out with a paw. He placed his paw on the little apprentice and blinked them back to the Frozen Forest.
But it was already too late.
Frostpaw's body was limp, his eyes closed.
