Ten: Bone Crushing

Sorry beautiful WizardNinjas! I've got a lot happening at the moment. I love you all; enjoy!

"C-Cant br-breath..." I struggle out as Artemis nearly kills me with her death grip hug. She lets out a string of apologies as I lay sprawled out on the ground, exhausted.

"I can't believe I forgot you Hana!"

"Artemis, I can't breath please get off of me," I gasp out.

The archer finally jumps up and pulls me with her. I go willingly, getting in plenty of oxygen. Once again I am nearly drained and will need to replenish my energy before I try seven.

"So, who's next?" Beast Boy asks, walking over to me as I sit on the lounge.

"Superboy," I answer.

Artemis brings me and drink from the fridge and sits beside me. Suddenly, M'gann and Aqualad are there too. It makes me happy, that they are near.

"S-So, when you were asleep...you saw..." Tigress trails off.

"Oh, yeah. He had a message for you, actually."

Her eyes widen slightly. "He wanted me to tell you not to linger, a-and that he loves you. He also wants his parents to take their holiday to Sydney and for Barry to realize it wasn't his fault," I list.

Artemis nods slowly, staring at the floor from behind her mask. "Art-"

"I've uh...got to go," she interrupts me.

Quickly, she jumps up and walks out through the Zeta-tube. I sigh and sink into my seat, before something yellow and red is in front of me in a flash.

Well, Kid Flash, more like it. "Hey Bart," I say.

"Hi Hana."

"Something up?"

His green eyes stare up at me. "I was just thinking...maybe if I had read up about you before I came here, then maybe I could've prevented this."

I shake my head and smile at him, holding his face. "No, little hero. You've already done so much to help us. The truth is, nothing could have prevented this Bart."

"I guess..." He seems unconvinced. I lean down to him.

"Hey. Do me a favour? Check on Lily?" I ask, winking at him.

As expected, he speeds off.

"Why am I next?"

I spin around to see Conner looking at me. A small smile makes its way to my face. "Because you're like a brother to me," I say.

He looks confused for a moment. "What do you-"

"W-Well, you were- are always there for me. And you've always been protective of me, I guess that just made us close."

He continues that basic frown of his. He looks over my shoulder at Kaldur and M'gann. Both nod to him, grinning. I hope he believes me now.

"You know, I'm feeling pretty okay now. Let's see if I can get your memories back, yeah?"

"So, what do we do? About Katyana, I mean," Dusk says, standing behind Klarion who leans his hands against a desk, hunched over the blueprint of his soul machine.

"She doesn't matter," he waves her off. "She played her part, that's all I needed. She can rot in Fate's dungeon for all I care."

Dusk nods slowly. Would things have been the same if she were in Doctor Fate's dungeons?

"Your soul machine. How is it going? Savage needs to know," she moves away from him, and their topic of conversation.

"It is fine. The soul I collected is powering it well enough, however I may soon need a second battery."

"That'll be hard to find."

Klarion smirks. "To find, yes. But not to cause."

The maniacal look in his eyes startles her slightly. So much for her slightly crush on him. "What about that thing. That Black Glaze you were talking about?" She questions.

Goosebumps riddle her skin when Klarion looks over his shoulder at her. Immediately, she feels out of place. Would he hit her, like she has heard he tends to do?

"That there," he begins, pointing to a cylinder that looks as if it is made of some glass crystal; "is the key to infiltrating the little brats, once more."

"What do you do with it?" She asks.

Klarion grins. "It, like Midnight is an entity. All the Black Glaze needs to do, is inhabit one of the brats. I have the perfect one in mind."

Dusk's expression turns to a malicious grin.

I grip one side of the headband with ears and Conner does the same. I had chosen the right memory; the one of him going with me to multiple Disney Movie screenings.

This is mostly because he had very little knowledge of the things a Disney conveys

Once again, images flash in my eyes of my moments with Conner. The two of us are thrown back. I hardly react, landing on my feet softly.

He dents the floor when he lands.

I step forward cautiously. He looks confused slightly as he walks towards me slowly.

For the second time today, I am pulled in a bone crushing hug. Once Conner realizes he may literally snap me in half, his grip loosens, allowing me to hug him back.

"Life without you was...weird," he mumbles, low enough for just me to hear. I laugh slightly.

"I'll take that as you saying you missed me then," I tell him, stepping back with a grin. To be honest I felt absolutely and completely drained.

"Well Star Sapphire is next on the list, but I'm exhausted," I say, to Conner and those around us. "So, goodnight."

I leave the warehouse for the Batcave in silence. No one is there, apart from the bats on the ceiling. They make me shudder. I leave in peace to my bedroom. When I walk in, I see Dick's clothes on the floor in a heap.

Smiling about how some things were still the same, I walk over to his clothes and pick them up, before putting them in the hamper.

My phone rings. "Hello?" I say, sitting on the lounge.

"Hey, it's Ash."

"Oh! Hey, it's great to hear from you," I say truthfully. I missed all of the girls.

"We've been worried! We hadn't heard from you, then when we asked Megan about it, it was like she had no idea who you were! Zatanna told us you were sick."

"I, uh...I was. Very sick. But I'm fine now."

"Well that's good. Richard taking care of you?"

I went to answer, but my breath caught in my throat. "Y-Yeah," I get out.

She's silent for a moment, before her voice returns; darkened.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Hana."

"I swear! I'm fine," I insist.

"Nope. Not buying it."

The bedroom door opens and Dick walks in. He smiles at me.

"He is taking care of you, right?"

"Yes, he is. But I'm a big girl you know; I can take care of myself."

"I know, I know. Okay well, you can tell me anything, remember that."

"You got it Ash. Tell the others I said hello."

"Bye."

"See ya."

I hang up and place my phone down. My eyes flicker to Dick, who stands looking out the window, now dressed in normal clothes instead of his uniform.

He turns around and smiles, asking about who I was talking to. I explained to him who Ash was.

"She asked if I was taking care of you?"

"Yeah, she's pretty protective."

It goes awkwardly silent after that. I take my phone in hand and tap the screen lightly with my nails. Neither of us say anything as he walks over and sits on the sofa, leaving a hefty space between us.

"Hana?"

I look at him. "Uhuh?"

"There's uh...there's something I want to ask you."

"Sure?"

"Could I uh..." He stops and laughs nervously, leaning over. "Could I kiss you?"

I was going to continue but...NOPE! xD

Stay magical!
