Sixteen: To Feel

I BET YOU CAN ALL RELATE TO DAPHNE IN THIS CHAPTER IF YOU ARE LIKE ME! XD

Please read end Authors note xD

Daphne loved their arrangement. Sometimes, when Jaime finished at school, he would show up at the manor through the zeta in the cave. She would be doing her homework in her room.

Normally he'd just fall asleep on her bed until she was finished. Then they'd go out and fight crime together, or go out to any city they wanted through the zeta-tubes, or just stay in her room for the rest of the day, doing anything or nothing.

Then there were the days, however rare, that she had no homework; or she had already finished it, or planned to do it later due to not having patrol duties.

It was on those days that she would wait for him outside of school, before walking home with him. Though, lately, after receiving his probationary licence, he could drive.

Today was one of those days. Jaime had his books spread out on his bed, trying to study for his social economics test.

Daph usually helped, but all of the sciences were her strong point; not humanity subjects. Despite this, the work he seemed to be doing, Daphne claims was the work she did in the ninth grade. Sadly, he knew that was truth.

"Holy cow..." She whispered quietly, staring up at her phone. Jaime rolled his eyes and shook his head. She was laying on her back between him and the wall, reading a story on her phone.

Every now and again she'd talk to herself about how annoying a character was, or how unrealistic the plots seemed. Jaime found it cute and got used to it quickly.

What he usually waits for is her outbursts; where she'd have a fit over what she referred to as 'feels' and 'second-hand character embarrassment' when reading.

"No way!" She suddenly gasped, making him look at her with a small, adoring smile. She turns her screen off and pushes her phone into her forehead.

"Don't do it lady," she mumbles, rambling about what a mistake it would be.

Jaime's brown eyes travelled to the end of the dress she was wearing, slowly sliding further and further up the more she kicked around.

He shut his text book and pushed them onto the floor. Just as he was about to kiss her, she suddenly flung her phone across the room and started yelling 'no!', in reaction to whatever she had read.

"She cheated on him with her ex-boyfriend!" She suddenly twisted around, causing her hair to get tangled all over the place as she lay on her stomach.

Jaime sat up, smiling at her fondly. "You okay?" He asked, placing a hand on her back and laughing. She mumbled something about a 'feeltrip', before rolling back over.

This caused her brunette blended hair to coat her face messily. She sat up and pulled it all out of the way, before tying it up.

"I'm alright," she grins. "Just never reading that story again."

"You know you will," Jaime adds.

"Probably."

Daphne pulls his hoodie gently, guiding Jaime towards her and kissing him. Just as Jaime pushed her back gently, Daphne's phone chimed from across the room.

Their moment ended quickly, as they grin at each other. "Three dings in Misty. I'll check it later," she says, before they continue with their previous activity.

Misty texts again, before a new, two-pieced chime came through. Both immediately stopped and sat up. "The chime of death," Jaime mused.

Daphne laughed at his name for the ringtone she had set for her foster dad, AKA Batman. Jaime put away his study books as Daphne skillfully changed into her uniform.

The two, then dressed in their hero uniforms left through the window; Jaime, holding Daphne like usual. He takes her to the zeta-tubes in the basement of an old warehouse, in the form of a generator.

"I'll see you later, cariño," he said, kissing her forehead. Daph smiled.

"I love you."

Jaime grinned and replied in kind, before Daphne left, appearing in the Batcave.

"Bad timing dad," she said, striding in. Tim and Barbara both turned from the platform to look at her, where as Batman was much closer.

"Have you seen or heard from Hana or Dick in the past 24 hours?" Is the first thing Batman asks. Daphne is taken aback but answers quickly.

"Yeah, around six yesterday we were texting. She was at her shoot. Then round 12:30 Dick left to pick her up. I was still awake when they got back. They definitely did come back though.

Batman records the information. "Like I said, sir," Alfred announces from somewhere Daphne did not see before, "they have simply taken the day off to be with each other."

"Yes, but I can't loca-"

Before Batman could finish, the screens in front of Robin and Batgirl lit up. "Both have been located. New York City, some apartment complex."

"Why the hell are they in New York?" Daphne queries.

Batman thinks for a while, analyzing what he knew, and what there is to know. Finally, he came to a conclusion.

"Siren," he says.

Teekl made sure to avoid her master at all costs. Klarion was in a dangerous mood; someone had not so kindly decided to cover the mansion in dirt and gravel.

She sat in the blue tree in the back yard, watching as he swept the dirt away with magic. He looked irritated and overall pissed; yet, Teekl could feel that he was in pain.

"I think it's time we pay a visit to the Earthly plain, Teekl," He says, magically changing into his usual black suit. Teekl agreed and jumped into his arms.

"Are you going to go ahead with our plans?" Instead of answering, Klarion just nods distantly, before they take a portal to an Earth city.

"Where are we, Klarion?" Teekl asks telepathically.

"Star City," he grins, stepping out from the Alley Way.

His smiles grows wider as he observes how busy the streets were. How perfect to get his beautiful Brea's attention. Turning his focus to the road the cars drove over, Klarion came up with the perfect plan for chaos.

With a simple wave, an earthquake-like shake began, making traffic and pedestrians stop in fear. Just as the confused silence began large pieces of the road began breaking apart.

Soon, those large pieces rose up into the air, before connecting to form three, large rock golems, all of which towered over the three-story buildings.

"Let's see how the Arrows deal with this," Klarion grins, leaning casually against the wall.

Soon enough, after the golems had sent cars, trees and building parts flying all over the place; Green Arrow and Black Canary show up.

Only after Canary had managed to destroy the right arm of one, and Green Arrow managed to blow a hole in the side of another, did more heroes show up.

Blue Beetle, Kid Flash (though, as Klarion knew; not the original), Twilight, Static, Guardian and Alleycat drop in, followed quickly by Miss Martian, Superboy and Beast Boy.

The Kryptonian Hybrid and the Martian are the last people he wanted to see. Well, almost; he definitely does not want to see Nightwing.

With the inconveniences, Klarion decided to go to an extent to create four more golems, before making an appearance.

Superboy is the first to spot him, holding Teekl. The cat disappears to a safer, close-by location, before Superboy flings himself towards the Witch Boy.

Klarion simply yawns and waves his hand, sending the clone backwards fifty yards.

The small speedster has a go at him next. Just as Klarion throws him to the side, the Lord of Chaos is knocked off of his feet by a sonic attack.

Klarion immediately teleports to the other side of the street, glaring at Blue Beetle. Witch Boy descends back into the shadows of the alley adjacent to the one he began in.

He watches Twilight fight. She has potential, he thinks; but it is basic, and she seems to know very little in the way of how strong her mana blasts can be.

Too deep in watching, and without Teekl to warn him, Klarion fails to sense Alleycat and Beastboy behind him until the moment Alleycat has him caught on the ankle with her whip.

Klarion simply rolls his eyes, unfazed, before turning the whip into a snake that begins chasing after her. Beastboy turns himself into a green tiger that leaps from the bin and in front of him.

Behind him, Klarion hears the last of his golems fall, leaving him to stall alone. He rises into the air, way above the buildings surrounding him.

He then takes a leisurely stroll along the space, catching the attention of all the heroes. "What do you want Witch Boy!" Black Canary calls to him calmly.

"What do I want?" He repeats, uninterested. Perhaps is he stalled just a little longer, she would show up. "I just wanted to watch all of you little toys play with much bigger ones."

"Well you got to! And now Doctor Fate is on his way!" Kid Flash yells. Klarion immediately changes his plans wit this new information. The Team glare at Kid Flash for leaking the information.

The familiar portal sound rings out of the yellow flash that Doctor Fate, Aqualad, Batman, Viper, Batgirl and Robin step out of.

"Your activities stop here, Witch Boy," Fate glares. Klarion roles his eyes.

"I'm not done playing!" He pouts.

"We are aware of your familiar's location. Stand down or be sent back to your plain the hard way."

"No!" Witch Boy complains, stamping the air. "I haven't got to play with my favourite toy yet! Where is my beautiful Star?" He smirks.

Of course, he hadn't been expecting an answer; but he got one.

"Here."

Startled, Witch Boy turned around to see Nightwing, Siren, Hana; and Midnight, grinning right beside her host.

I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the break from Richabrie Grayloh, and instead enjoyed some Jaiphne Reyne. I also hope it has got you excited for the next chapter;

Why is Midnight out?

Does Nightwing have his memories back?

What does Klarion want?

What do Jaiphne really do when they're alone in Daph's room?

Okay maybe not that last one so much xD

Stay magical, love you all!
