SPECIAL MESSAGE TO ALL READERS! PLEASE READ TO END!
Hi guys! Yes, as you've read, I got something to say to you all. This story is officially going under some major editing. Here are some things you can expect during the process of this whole thing and once I'm finished doing so.
🌹🌹🌹
- General improvement of writing (Ex: Correcting as many typos, spelling, punctuation, and Grammar errors as I possibly can)
- Additional NEW SCENES to some previous chapters
- Likewise, some current scenes may or may not be replaced with a more fitting one
- Some things may be deleted within a chapter
- I will not touch up on dialogue because when I do, you guys' comments get erased, and I absolutely hate that. I will only edit dialogue if it's very necessary.
- Some flashbacks may very well be taken out of their original chapter and moved into a earlier chapter.
- I MAY CREATE A FEW MORE CHAPTERS (they will be placed between current chapters 16-17 so look out for that! HOWEVER, those extra chapters will mostly be things you've already read about. Flashbacks from more recent chapters will be made to not be flashbacks and will be likely to be placed into an earlier chapter where it was said to have taken place.)
- Others had recently reminded me about the fact that I had mentioned Nia had a crush on a guy from her village in the early chapters of this book but never truly touched up on that. At first when told this, I was like, "What? She did?" Cause in case some of you guys don't know already, I had written chapters 1-22 at the age of SIXTEEN. Literally back in late spring of 2015, yet was a bit too nervous to start publishing it on here until January 1, 2016. I haven't read those chapters since spring of 2015 and thus, forgot about a WHOLE LOTTA THINGS!
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, yesterday —08/29/18 — I went back to the first chapter to read about the character you guys wanted me to invest more on and to give more of a light shined on them. Sorry to break it to you guys, but Nia's old crush— Bejiri, I think it was — has no significance in this story and no real role in it either. They were just a red herring but I legit can't even remember where that character even went 😂 so while I'm editing this story, if they're mentioned, I'll erase it cause like I said, they weren't important for this story and I don't think I ever even did anything with them lmaooo it's been sooo long since I've read those chapters!
Sorry for those who wanted me to brush up on that, but he ain't making the cut along with a few others.
- Nia will be molded into what I was intending to make her in the beginning: The ANTI-HEROINE (Anti-Hero)
🌹🌹🌹
I think with chapters 1-22, I did poorly with how I was interpreting Nia to truly be. Being that I was sixteen, at the time, I couldn't write her as I was imagining her to be in my head. Now that I can write the characters to express themselves better and show their actions more smoothly, I decided to flesh her character out and rewrite some things in earlier chapters.
To put simply, in the beginning, Nia's meant to be a very depressed individual — as you guys already know this. She's meant to be someone who has allowed the world and the people in it to crush her self-esteem down to the point where she no longer wanted to live, wished she were never born, engaged in self-harm, and had attempted to commit suicide numerous times. The character has learned to hate the world, most of the people living in it, and cannot fathom the reason for her existence.
I imagined her as extremely cynical and negative. She doesn't trust anyone nor really wants anyone to get close to her seeing as she's immensely afraid of being hurt or betrayed by them. I imagined her to be someone who was once pure of heart then turned immensely cold and closed off once suffering deeply due to the harsh treatment of others toward her. I saw her as being enraged, vengeful, bitter, hostile, and being as so consumed by darkness that she will only save those who wished to be kind to her or hadn't spoke ill of her. Basically, only good people who don't deserve to die.
In the beginning, she's truly meant to be a horrible person with a whole lotta issues, yet someone who you guys can see as a person whose anger and sadness is justified! Someone you guys can sympathize with or understand.
I've noticed that I've written her to be a coward at first 😂 someone who can't stand up for themselves. This was only done because I wanted to show you guys phenomenal character development once the story had progressed to where it is now and also because with the scene with those three guys who were gonna hurt her, I needed an excuse to get her to see Naruto differently once he stood up for her and her whooping their asses herself would not do that lmao
Imma just keep it real: If it weren't for my future plans for her character development and the whole deal with trying to get her to trust Naruto holding me back, I can 100% confirm to you guys that she would've most DEFINITELY not hesitated to whoop ANYONE's ass if they were in her face and talking mad shit. DAMN that was hard to resist writing her to beat they ass lol Thankfully, in later chapters, I developed her character enough to beat anyone's ass if they pissed her off enough.
SPECIAL MESSAGE
The reason I wrote this story and the reason why I made Nia to be this very depressing, negative, cynical, mean spirited, horrible person was to show everyone how you treat someone MATTERS! What you say to or about someone MATTERS! You don't know what someone is going through when you see them in public or in the streets. For all you know, they're thinking of taking their life the next time they get mistreated, ignored, talked about, laughed at, scorned, or gossiped about by other people. Not everyone has thick skin and can ignore the opinion of others.
Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, we ALL desire to be loved and accepted by others. No one wants to be an outcast, no one wants to be bullied, no wants to be alone — that's why it's so important to be kind to people. Trust me, if someone is treating you horribly and is naturally a piece of shit who has no backstory for why they act the way they do, by all means, I don't blame you for treating them like the filth they are.
I'm just saying to be kind to those who are misunderstood, different, or shunned by others for a foolish reason. In this book's case, Nia was given hell for her appearance. So since that is so, I'll stick to this subject.
Listen, I get it... the person at the buffet has got up to get their eleventh bowl and you've noticed just how big they are or how overweight they let themselves get — if it's not a medical reason of course. Instead of laughing at this person and telling your friend, spouse, or whomever you're there with that the big person is a land whale or beach whale, just try keeping your mouth shut and be more sensitive to a person's feelings.
And no, whispering behind your hand will not help you. That person knows your talking about them. I mean, it's so obvious 😑
Instead of making fun of that guy or girl you see in the hallway, in class, in public or just anywhere because they don't have the most handsome or prettiest face, try actually going up to them and pay that person a compliment or tell them you hope they have a good day or something because FFS that person could've been verbally abused, scorned, laughed at, gossiped about, treated horribly, self-harming themselves, and planning out their suicide THE WHOLE DAMN DAY! Hell, EVERYDAY OF THEIR LIFE EVEN!
It is NOT hard to be kind people! It is not hard to hold your tongue when you see that person everyone considers as a loser, a misfit, ugly, fat, a faggot, or just anything that's offending!
If you really gotta be a bitch and talk shit about someone or make fun of someone for a petty reason, take your ass somewhere else far away from that person and do your bullshit there! There are some people in this world who can't even keep their voices down when they do this heartless bs. I guarantee you that if you're making fun of someone or gossiping about them while you're in the SAME ROOM AS THEM, don't be surprised if they clock your ass cause I GUARANTEE you they can hear you.
UGH! Sorry lol I got triggered.
ANYWAY! I am very touched that this story has been able to inspire people, get some of you guys out of your deep depression, change people's hearts who were once cruel to those different from themselves, gave people hope for their lives, and changed many into a better person.
It brings tears to my eyes when I read the messages I get from you guys about how this story has impacted your lives for the better. I write this for all of you, even though I cringe so much when I read certain chapters 😂 I still deal with my cringe-worthy chapters and make them so y'all can laugh, cry, fangirl, and cringe with me ❤️ so no matter how awkward, kinky, depressing, and laughable this story is and will continue to be, I will never regret making this!
Thanks so much for reading this story and giving it your votes and comments ❤️ just remember: whether you believe me or not, your kindness can save someone's life.
As shown in this story, Nia managed to change back into an arguably pure-hearted person because she was shown kindness, acceptance, and patience from someone. And one more thing you guys... this story is not intended to be something like:
Nia needed a man to make her feel happy. No... not at all. What she needed was someone to support her, show her kindness and acceptance. She WANTED to change herself, but she just didn't know how to do so. Like as said somewhere in the story, she needed to either see someone triumph over their misfortune or be by someone who was treated as an outcast like herself but could still be positive and confident in themselves unlike her. Basically, Naruto was that person to her, I guess.
Though they were outcasts for two completely different reasons, Nia deeply admired the fact that Naruto didn't give in to madness, hatred, or depression. She admired that he was confident, empathetic, kind, optimistic, resilient, and mentally strong. To put it simply, she looked up to that strength and strived to be that kind of person herself. She saw him as the definition of a true hero — someone who not only protects those who can't fend for themselves physically like most heroes, but someone who can get someone to change their views on life and end up bringing them out of their depression and self-loathing.
In the process of all this though, she obviously ended up falling for him 😂😂😂 hard af too 💀
So this is all for now... i'll inform you all when my editing is done so y'all can read through the chapters once more and find the new material you wish to read.
