Chapter 68: Diary Of Nia

"Ughh... I can't believe I'm in a library right now. There's so many books here, I feel like my head's gonna explode, ya know?"

"Well, if you wanna learn how to be a better boyfriend, these books will teach you how to become one, Naruto." Sai replied as he dropped a few books down at a table.

"Gaaah... I guess you're right. Pervy Sage is mainly good for only sex advice and I would've asked Iruka-sensei, but he'd kill me if he found out I'm with Curly Brow and we did it..."

"Hmm, I wonder how she reacted when she found out you barely have any balls?"

"AND HEEEEERE WE GOOO AGAIN!" Naruto immediately grew annoyed, "Why do you always have to keep talking about my balls all the time?! Do you like balls, Sai?! Is that it?! Cause it sounds a lot like to me you like balls a whoooole lot, buddy!"

"No, I don't." The teen replied as he closed a book and narrowed his eyes at the blond, "But you seem to like Sasuke's a whole lot."

"WHAT WAS THAT?!"

"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. Sakura told me... you kissed Sasuke before, right? Not only that, but you're always obsessing over him."

"Grrr! THAT'S IT!" The blond smacked his hands on the table, stood up, then pulled his sleeves up as he climbed up onto the surface, "If you're trying to pick a fight, you got yourself one, pal!"

"You two!" The librarian yelled at the teens, "Keep your voice down or I'll high tail you both out of here."

With a heavy sigh, Naruto got off from the table, sat back in his chair, and laid his cheek on his left palm.

"Sai, enough of this already," He told his teammate, "I'm counting on you to help me with this stuff, ya know?"

"Naruto, if you want my advice, you should probably ask her out to the festival tonight."

"What? A festival? Since when was that planned out?"

"A long while ago actually. During your travel with Master Jiraiya some months ago. It just kept getting delayed for some reason until now." Sai answered.

Naruto crossed his arms and thought about it, "Hmm... erm, oh man, I'm sure Iruka-sensei is gonna be there..."

"How about this then: I'll tag along behind you guys and keep on the lookout for him and make sure no one disturbs you two while on your date? That way, you can prove yourself to be a good boyfriend and feel successful after the date is over too."

"No way! You'd really do that?!" The genin smiled widely.

"I don't see why not, but..."

"But what?"

Sai replied, "I... don't think you really need to prove yourself to her that you're a good boyfriend, Naruto. From what I've seen, she seems to adore you a lot already."

"From what you've-? Hold on—How do you know that if you've never been around us?"

"The first few days she was here, I followed her around. I wanted to know what was the best way to greet someone new according to what my book said."

Naruto sweat dropped, "Really...?"

"Yes, but then I took an interest into finding out why you were around her so much too. I thought you'd try and go find Sakura to talk to, but you didn't. I found it peculiar."

"..."

Sai next grabbed a scroll and tossed it onto the table where it unrolled to show a bunch of writing in it.

Naruto looked over it then asked, "What's all this stuff? It looks like it's just a bunch of love letters or something."

"Sorta, but take a closer look. You seem to be the main focus of it, Naruto."

"Huh? Me?"

Sai nodded to which Naruto began to read.

Dear Diary,

Today... I feel strange. I feel... happy... yet scared, too. I'm a bit terrified to admit this to myself, but... I think... I might actually be... falling for... Naruto. Ugh!!! This is so embarrassing for me to admit this, but I can't keep denying and lying to myself about this! I like the guy! No—I love the guy!

Ohhh... what am I supposed to do though? I have no chance in hell with him. He's nice, but... he can still see what's beautiful and what isn't just like any other guy can. I'm not a naturally pretty girl so it's not like I can get him to notice me. Sure, I can try my best to treat him well and show off my personality, but... guys don't really care about that stuff. I know because I tried, and yet I still got rejected by them all strictly because of my appearance and nothing else.

Still though... it's not like I can just keep myself from not falling for anyone ever. I have feelings... just like everyone else, but... they're always being ignored and mistreated. I'm scared that if I tell him how I feel, he may start to avoid me, get mad at me, or feel guilty and sorry for me. Even though we get into arguments, I don't truly mean all the things I say to him. I'm just afraid because... if he realizes I've fallen for him, it might not be the same again. It'll get awkward... and I feel as though our friendship will deteriorate sometime after.

Naruto looked up at Sai with widened eyes, "Sai, what is all this?! This all sounds like Curly Brow, ya know?"

"That's because it is her," The boy confirmed, "On one of the days I was following her around, she incidentally forgotten her diary in the training grounds. You and Master Jiraiya were there too except he was knocked out and you were helping Nia to stand up and walk since she seemed to be tipsy."

"Oh! You mean that day she became drunk?!"

"Sure... I guess. Anyway, her diary was just laying around and I decided to take a read inside it. I found a lot of depressing things in the beginning, but as I kept reading, her entries just all started to talk about you and her growing feelings. I figured you may wanted to take a look for yourself so I copied it into my scroll then gave the diary to your old academy sensei the next day so he'd give it back to Nia."

"Wait! Everything that was in her diary is now in this scroll of yours for real?!" The genin got all pumped up.

"Everything that contains her feelings for you at least."

Naruto made a mischievous grin, "Hehe, this is the one time you'll ever see me reading everything contained in a long scroll, ya know! Time to find out how hot she finds me!"

"I think if I'm remember right, she says something about that too."

"Dear Diary," The blond read out loud, "Jiraiya-sensei once more left to head to a bar of some kind. Earlier, he was training Naruto and I together and I've been improving my water jutsu slowly each and every day. Anyway right now, Naruto's training with some of his clones while I'm taking a break so I can write down my thoughts a bit."

The blond began to skim a bit in his head as he then found what he was looking for.

"As each day passes, I'm finding it more difficult to quit staring at him," He continued, "I don't know what it is... but he's starting to look... really hot to me. Haaah... too bad he's out of my league though. Besides, he's already told me he likes this Sakura girl. I'm so hopeless..."

As he kept reading, Naruto's smile began to widen while Sai took notice of his behavior as he read Nia's thoughts of him since their first month of getting to know one another.

Ohhh... I wish I was good enough for him to notice. I'm glad we're getting along better than before, but still... maybe I should keep my distance? No, I need to gather the courage to keep speaking with him! If I do that, he'll get to know me better and then maybe, just maybe, he'll... no, guys don't care about stuff like that. Not personality...

What am I supposed to do then? No matter how hard I try, I can't be pretty. My only hope is to just hope he'll begin to see me differently over time. Still though... I tried that with other guys before and no matter how good I got along with them and showed my interest, I still got turned down. It's so frustrating cause I know I can be an amazing and wonderful girlfriend but I never get the chance because I'm not beautiful enough. I can be just as good a girlfriend as any other girl. I know it!

"I can't believe she really liked me that long ago and I never noticed..." Naruto said as he still continued reading in his head.

"As you keep reading more and more, you can tell she eventually falls in love with you." Sai stated, "Her opinion of you strengthens and her heart grows more fond of you also."

The artist watched as his friend darted from line to line. Eventually a minute became ten minutes, then twenty, until eventually half an hour passed.

When the genin was all done reading, he stood up quickly, rolled the scroll back up, then carried it with him as he dashed out of the library. Curious, Sai followed him out as the blond began heading to Iruka's home.

"Curly Brow!" He knocked on the door, "Curly Brow!"

Several yards away, Nia was walking home as she carried four grocery bags in both hands. As she became closer to her destination, she saw as Naruto repeatedly pounded on the door.

"Naruto?" She called as he then looked at her then jumped over the railing and landed some feet away from her.

"Curly Brow!" He exclaimed as he ran to her and gave a tight hug as she dropped her bags and had to step a couple feet back due to his somewhat aggressive and sudden action.

"Na...ruto?" She immediately became red as she looked to her left, "W-What's going on? Are you okay? You know I had just seen you this morning when I gave you breakfast, right?"

"I love you!" He shouted as he then held the girl even closer to him, "I love you with all my heart, ya know!"

"Eh? Naruto, I love you too but seriously, what's going o-"

"Don't leave my side ever, all right?!" The genin then pulled away and instead held Nia's hands in between them, "I need you to stay by my side!"

His face was moderately red as a squirmy smile appeared on his face. Because of this, Nia looked down and began to get very shy.

'Oh gosh...' She thought as her own blush deepened, 'He's blushing... Naruto's really blushing again...'

"You were carrying these bags, right?" He smiled before picking up two bags in each hand, "Let me give you a hand."

"Oh no, you don't have to do that for me." Nia replied truthfully.

The genin only winked at her and said, "These bags are nothing. I'm really strong remember?"

"Well... you are... really strong." The girl agreed.

"Yeah... I know you really think that..." He then smirked at her for a bit before jumping over the railing again.

That look... why did he give me that look? Are we going to sleep with each other again? I mean, it has been four days already...

Getting to the front door excitedly, Nia opened it up and walked in as Naruto followed behind her. He walked to the kitchen to place the bags down while Nia continuously hoped that they would once more make love again. Iruka was still at the academy and wasn't expected to come home till later leaving the teens the whole apartment to themselves.

"Naruto..." The girl placed her hands behind her back and swung side to side a little, "You know, I was thinking that... you and I could-"

"That's right!" A lightbulb appeared over the boy's head, "Curly Brow, I was wondering if you'd go to the festival tonight with me?"

"Festival?" The girl's plan was immediately shot down before she could even say it.

"Yeah!" Naruto said as he opened the fridge and began placing stuff in there for the girl, "You know, like a date?"

"KYA! Another date with you?!" Nia's eyes had turned into hearts.

"Well yeah. You're my girlfriend now so of course I'd want to take you out places."

"Naruto!!!" The girl could then feel her heart nearly pounding out of her chest, "Of course I'd go on a date with you! What time does this festival start?"

"7:00 P.M."

"All right, I'll definitely be ready before then."

Closing the fridge and next opening a cabinet, the genin then began to fill that up with items as well. However, before he could get to the third bag, Nia stopped him.

"Naruto, those two last bags aren't for Iruka and I."

"Huh? Then-"

"I bought those groceries for you."

"No way! You spent your money on all of this?" The blond gasped.

"Of course I did!" Nia answered, "You literally only have ramen. I... just wanted you to be able to eat something other ramen at times. You say you wanna be hokage someday, but ramen isn't the sort of thing you should eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner."

"But ramen is basically what I am, ya know? I can't just part with it like that."

Nia giggled, "I'm not saying to never eat it ever again. I'm just saying you should cut down on it and eat more food that is better for you so that when you train and everything, you'll be able to have much more stamina and gain more muscle. Even I bought some healthy things for Iruka and I to eat."

"I guess... you're right, but how much did my groceries take out of your wallet?"

"Erm... five-hundred ryo, I believe."

"EHHH?! Curly Brow, that's too much money to spend on me, ya know!"

"That's not really a lot." The girl disagreed, "Besides, you needed it."

Immediately, Naruto took his frog wallet out and pulled out some cash.

"Here," He handed it to the girl, "I wanna buy these from you."

"Naruto, those groceries are already for-"

"Curly Brow..." He gave a serious look.

Because of this, Nia hesitantly took the money but lowered her eyes and frowned. Seeing this, Naruto cupped her left cheek in his hand then lightly kissed her forehead, causing her to look back up at him with a slight blush.

"Curly Brow, you don't have to keep trying to prove to me that you're a good girlfriend. You already are one, ya know?" Naruto softly told her.

"You really... think so?" The girl lowered her guard.

"Yeah... seriously, when was the last time you put yourself ahead of me?"

"I haven't... done that yet. I don't want to do that. I wanna show how much I love you 24/7!" Nia admitted.

Hearing this, Naruto pulled her into another hug as she placed her hands around his back while her head stayed at the crook of his neck. They were both slightly blushing, but this time, Naruto was the one who was the most heated in the face.

The reasoning for this was because of all the things the girl had wrote in her diary that he read. Each word gripped and embraced his heart. He had read everything that she thought of him during the time she was falling for him up until the day she had become drunk. He even read what she had written the night they shared their first kiss under the light of the moon and shine of the stars.

She had described it as a magical moment for her; a dream come true. She had described the feel of his lips against hers and the pounding of her heart that came along during the action. The girl had written her desire to be with him and to always stand by his side. Naruto held on tight to her as he didn't wanna let her go.

Nia kept ahold of him also as she didn't wanna pull away either. However, her hormones were getting the best of her. She wanted to have sex. She wanted to make love with him once more. It had been four days since they had been intimate and she wanted to feel him inside her. It was a must.

"Naruto..." She mumbled.

"What is it?" He asked as he brushed down at her hair.

"Sex..." Nia very softy replied, "I wanna... have sex with you again. Let's make love."

"WHAAAT?! SERIOUSLY?!" Naruto pulled away and looked at the girl with hearts in his eyes, "YOU WANT SOME MORE OF ME ALREADY?!"

Nia nodded, "Of course I do. I'm ready for my hero all day everyday! I love him! I want him to make love to me as much as possible!"

"Don't you wanna wait to see if, you know... you're pregnant or not first before we do this again? If you want to, I'll wait also, I swear!"

"No," The girl shook her head, "Two weeks is a long time... but... if you're the one who would prefer to wait, then-"

"Don't worry," The genin reassured the girl as he took some condoms out of his pocket, "I brought protection with me this time."

Nia smiled upon seeing them and then said, "Okay! We'll make love here, I'll clean everything up, then we can go get ready for our date to the festival tonight."

"Sounds good to me." Naruto nodded.

When the festival begins... I'll express my feelings for you in a much better way thanks to the advice I got out of reading those books Sai suggested to me earlier.
