Chapter 53: Break-Up Plan

A day has passed since Nia was welcomed into the Leaf. Naruto and her didn't spend the day together as they wanted to give one another space. Nia did show up in the morning to hand Naruto his breakfast, tidy up his apartment, then went to report everything to the Hokage who paid her for her service. The girl needed some way to earn yen as she was told that she would not be placed on any team at the moment and so, being a maid was a way of earning something.

Currently, the girl was strolling through the village in an attempt to grow some thick skin. She wanted to be able to walk in a populated area where people would criticize her so that she could learn to ignore their comments plus laughter and become emotionally stronger.

Though a lot of people ignored her, some did make rude comments about her appearance and snickered at it. Though this stung her, the girl kept repeating the same two words in her head.

I'm valuable, I'm valuable, I'm valuable!

Following her around town, Kiba, Akamaru, and Naruto hid in an alley way watching her by herself.

"Why're you dragging me into this?" Naruto asked Kiba.

"To prove a point to you." The boy answered.

"What point?"

"That she's not right for you. I'm gonna prove to you that she's an easy catch."

"What're you talking about?"

"Don't be dumb, Naruto," Kiba furrowed his eyebrows, "You know what I mean. If her looks can't get you to stop liking her, then I'll show you that she'll wanna be with and flirt with any guy that approaches and gives her attention. I bet you she's desperate for male attention, right Akamaru?"

"Arf!" The dog barked in agreement.

The blond sighed, "She's not like that, ya know? She's actually a good person."

Why does everyone always misunderstand her? She's not a terrible person.

"We'll have to see about that," Kiba said as he held up a sign.

In seconds, he transformed into a rather very handsome young man who seemed as if he had a lot of money by the clothing he wore. His hair was black, short, and styled. He was tall, built, and lean. His eyes were the color of his hair and he had a dazzling smile. Kiba had transformed into a man that every woman desired.

"I'm sure this disguise will land me a date in no time. Maybe she'll even let me go further than that?" Kiba's voice was low, but not too low. It was incredibly enticing and very sexy. He sounded powerful.

The black glasses he wore made him look very sophisticated and highly intelligent.

"Listen Naruto: women love handsome, intelligent, high status men with a lot of money. There's rarely any woman who can resist this kind of guy. Trust me, if Nia is worth anything at all, she'll reject this guy over you." The brown-haired boy said as he pushed up his glasses.

He then gave the blond some kind of device and had him put it to his ear while Kiba himself place some sort of device underneath the fancy clothing he wore.

"What's all this?" Naruto asked as he placed the device on his ear.

"That thing you're wearing will help you to hear the conversation I'll be starting with Nia. I'll prove to you that she's either a gold digger, fame digger, whore, or all three!"

"This is just going way outta hand, Kiba! She's not like that! Just leave her alone, would ya?!"

"We'll see about that." The chuunin said as he made his way through the crowd.

Hinata's the one who Naruto should have an interest in.

As he approached the girl, many women had their eyes glued to the handsome stud Kiba had transformed as. He pretended to accidentally bump into the girl as Naruto watched from not too far.

"My deepest apologies," He said to Nia as she looked at him.

'Wow,' She thought as she glanced at the male, 'He's really handsome.'

"Don't worry about it, it was an accident."

The incredibly attractive man took a hold of the girl's hand and kissed it, "You know, you are just the most loveliest and most gorgeous woman I've ever laid my eyes on."

The man smiled his brilliant whites and winked flirtatiously. Nia blushed slightly from the compliment she received from such a handsome man as it helped to raise her self-esteem.

"T-Thank you?" She said awkwardly as the guy kept holding onto her hand.

'She's so easy...' Kiba said in his thoughts, 'No surprise either. I mean, it's not like she has guys drooling over her. I hope Naruto's getting a good look at this...'

Back in the alleyway, the genin seemed to be rather calm. He knew Nia was flattered, but who wouldn't be flattered from such a compliment? Around Kiba and her, many women swooned over the male. They circled around the two, envying the girl who had received his attention.

"If I may so ask: What is your name, Darling?" Kiba asked as he kept ahold of the girl's hand.

"...Nia?" The girl answered as she was a bit too nice to move her hand away without appearing as rude.

"Your name is almost as beautiful as your eyes."

Again, Nia blushed from hearing such a compliment. The women around her were getting jealous.

Kiba took out a wallet and opened it. In it were loads and loads of money. His whole wallet was stacked with it. The women who circled around the two began to freak out.

"He's filthy rich!" One said.

"That girl's so lucky!" Another said.

"Ugh, I wish I was her right now!" The next one continued.

Nia was surprised to see how fat his wallet was. The guy was indeed filthy stinking rich.

Kiba grinned, "In case you may not know, I am a feudal lord's son from a neighboring village. Therefore, nothing is too much for me to not afford. If I so may ask, would you like to accompany me for a fancy lunch? Everything will be on me."

Again, the women began to freak out.

"Take me!" They begged, "Take me!"

Kiba smirked.

Tch! Gold digger...

Naruto and Akamaru watched. The dog seemed sure of itself while Naruto just got irritated over Kiba's hand holding.

Why's he gotta hold her hand like that? Just let go of it already!

"It's nice of you to offer me to grab a bite to eat, but I'm gonna have to decline." The genin heard Nia say with his hearing device.

Immediately, everyone's eyes widened.

"WHAT?!" They all say.

Kiba gritted his teeth.

Did she... really just...

Calming down, the Inuzuka tried again.

"But you are so beautiful. A woman like you must allow me to take her somewhere fancy. I'll even buy you anything you'd like. I can buy you clothing, a home, servants, all those things you can ever hope for. I'm as rich as they come and am respected as they come. I'll make your dreams come true with all my money."

Nia finally pulled her hand away gently, "I'm sorry. It must be nice to have so much money, luxury, and to have such a high social status, but really, I have to decline."

"Is she serious?!" The crowd began to speak and look to one another, "Why would she reject him? This is the best she's going to get."

Inside, Kiba was mind boggled.

How can she reject me?! Don't women love rich, handsome, high class men?! She's supposed to be easy! She's not pretty! She should be giving in to any guy who'll give her the slightest attention!

"Did you not hear me? I can buy you anything you want!" Kiba became desperate to prove his point, "I'm a feudal lord's son: a prince! I'm incredibly handsome! I'm intelligent! I'm every woman's dream! I'm rich! You don't ever have to work ever again! You'll be treated to the finest luxuries!"

"I don't date a man for his money nor do I show an interest in him because he's loaded," Nia became a bit irritated, "I'm not materialistic and I don't need to have all the finer things in life to feel and be happy. Sure... you are handsome but looks aren't everything! I don't know what kind of man you are. You can be someone who's cruel to unfortunate people, someone who insults and laugh at others behind their backs, a person with a cruel heart. The reason I rejected you was because I'm already in love someone else."

The girl then looked at the many women who surrounded the two, "These girls clearly love men with money and status. I, on the other hand, prefer men with a good personality and someone who'll genuinely care for me. I love a man for who he is and not for what he has or how everyone views him. A man's status and money have no significance to me. An intelligent handsome man is nothing if he doesn't have a kind accepting heart to go along with it."

With that, Nia then left, leaving everyone in shock.

"I can't believe it..." Kiba transformed back to his original self, "She doesn't care about that stuff. She's not a gold digger, not a whore, and not a fame digger either. She chose Naruto over-"

"He's not even rich!" A few women spoked as they seen all the money disappear.

"Yeah! He's not a prince either!"

"Nor is he as handsome."

Once realizing the boy wasn't loaded and didn't have a high status, the crowd began to disperse and all the women resumed back to what they were doing before.

"Oh come oooon!" Kiba slouched his shoulders in defeat.

"YEAAAAAH!" Naruto came running over to the chuunin and began getting overtly pumped about what just happened, "I told you didn't I?!"

Kiba crossed his arms and refused to look at the blond.

"WELLLLL?!" The genin got in his face anyway as Akamaru came walking to his friend's side with a disappointed look. The blond then took his hearing device off and gave it back to his friend.

"..."

Naruto next grinned, summoned three clones, had them join hands, then dance around Kiba in a circle while sticking out their tongues once in a while.

"She's awesome! She's awesome! She's awesome!" They sung as they danced, "She loves me! She loves me! She loves me!"

Not even a minute passed before Kiba lost his cool.

"OKAY! I GET IT!" He yelled as Naruto's clones then disappeared.

The genin crossed his arms as he wore a huge sheepish grin.

Kiba sighed, "Okay... maybe I was wrong for saying she's worthless just because of her appearance. I shouldn't have insulted her so harshly before getting to know her. I admit Naruto: She's a good woman. I'm sorry."

"You don't need to tell me, ya know!"

Kiba, feeling ashamed of how superficial and judgmental he was of the girl, began to walk pass Naruto with a slight attitude as Akamaru followed behind him.

"Damn!" He cussed as he kept walking through the village streets.

He then looked to Akamaru and said, "I can't believe that girl... She really proved us wrong, huh boy?"

Akamaru barked.

The teen heavily sighed.

She didn't even take the chance with the stud. I disguised myself as the perfect man yet she still preferred Naruto somehow. I guess I can't call her a whore... a gold digger... or someone who goes after a guy just for his status... Geez, what am I supposed to do? Naruto likes her and she likes him... How in the world am I supposed to get Naruto to go after Hinata without embarrassing Hinata by telling the guy she likes him? Ugh... man this sucks.

Throughout the afternoon, after the incident with Kiba, Naruto hanged out with the guys while Sakura and the other kunoichi decided to spend time trying to get to know Nia a bit more. Before they all knew it, night had fallen, and they all headed back to their homes.

Naruto stood outside of his door and stared at his doorknob. He wanted to come into a home that had parents just like his other peers.

"I'm hooome!" He yelled cheerfully as he opened the door.

However, the place was empty as usual. He was glad everything was cleaned, but it didn't change the fact that he was alone and without a family. His eyes lowered to the ground as he frowned and walked in.

"It's always like this..." He said as he began to make himself some ramen.

He waited three minutes for his water to boil then placed the hot water into his ramen cup and added some flavoring in it.

Sitting at a table, Naruto took his chopsticks and began slurping his meal.

'I hate being here by myself...' The blond thought as he ate.

He then thought of what he saw at the Hidden Cloud not too long ago.

Curly Brow had such a big family... She never got to go home to an empty house everyday like I have to... lucky.

As he finished his ramen, Naruto took a shower, put his pajamas on then layed on his bed.

It wasn't more than five minutes later when he heard a knock on the door. Quickly, he jumped out of it and opened it. He was surprised to see Nia on the other side.

"Curly Brow? I don't get it... why're you here? The genin asked.

Nia seemed tense, "Hi, Naruto. Do you mind walking around town with me? I really would like to talk to you about something that's been bothering me lately..."

"...Sure," Naruto said as he then went back to change into his normal attire.

When he went outside, Nia was already waiting for him in the streets. Naruto hopped down from his balcony and the two began to stroll through the village as street lights shined down on them.

"So, what's up? What did you wanna talk about?" The blond placed his arms behind his head as he walked.

Nia kept her eyes low.

"Sorry..." She apologized out of the blue. Naruto raised a brow.

"My advances on you... I'm sorry. I feel as if I'm corrupting you."

"Wait wha? Corrupting me?"

Nia nodded, "Yeah... ever since I told you how I felt, I feel like I made you see me in only a sexual way because of how I went about it. I told you I'd have sex with you if you were to fall for me and only me. Now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like I only said that so that maybe that would be enough to get you to... like me... since... sex seemed to be the only thing a guy thinks about all the time to me."

Naruto sweat dropped, "Wait... you thought... I'd only like you if you were to promise me sex?"

Nia nodded and frowned.

"Curly Brow... I'm not like that, ya know? It sorta hurts that you think that."

"It's not that I think you're like that. It's just that I'm worried I'm making you turn into someone like that. I'm sorry... Besides... I just... I just can't stop thinking that if I hadn't said that, you would still be... more innocent."

Naruto sighed, "Don't you remember what Kakashi-sensei said? No one's really meant to stay innocent forever. We're practically adults. Why wouldn't we feel these intense emotions?"

"I guess, but... you sure that what you feel isn't just lust? Like you're not confusing love for lust?"

"When you were drunk... you forced yourself on me..." The blond decided to tell the kunoichi, "You begged me like crazy to make love to you and you even tried to get me in the mood in a pretty erotic way."

"WHAT?! I DID?!" Nia completely went red in the face.

Naruto nodded and Nia hid her face in her hands.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" She apologized over and over and over.

Naruto laughed, "Don't apologize. I knew you had no idea what was going on so I made sure not to give in to your advances. In the end, I managed to get you to go to sleep. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that, I could've taken advantage of you when you were vulnerable, but instead, I resisted the urge."

"Really?" Nia looked at the genin.

"Yeah." He responded, "You also told me a whole bunch of things you never told me before, ya know?"

"Please don't tell me I said anything embarrassing."

"I'm not sure if you'd be embarrassed, but I understand just how much you like me because of what you said. You told me when and how you began liking me, that you repressed what you felt for me because of my crush on Sakura, that you're attracted to people who are different than you personality-wise, that you were afraid of what you felt and didn't know what to do about them, and that you felt undeserving of me and felt as though you could never measure up to what I like solely because of your appearance..."

"I TOLD YOU ALL THAT?!" Steam poured out of the girl's face as she began to feel even more embarrassed, "Oh gooosssh, I'm so sorry."

"Erm, I wasn't too bothered by it. To be honest, it felt as though you were talking sense into me. It sorta helped me to realize I was developing feelings for you too. I was just a bit too confused to really notice it though, ya know? I've only ever liked Sakura, so having feelings for someone else was a big change to what I'm used to." Naruto explained as he seemed to be leading Nia to the Hokage Monument.

"Oh..."

Naruto then smiled at her, pulled her by the wrist, then began running toward where he wanted to go.

"Naruto, where the heck are you taking me?" Nia asked as the two made it to the Hokage Monument.

"I wanna go sit atop the fourth hokage's statue, ya know!" The blond replied as he began jumping his way up on the rocks and occasionally using the chakra on his feet to run up the mountain.

Nia followed him and eventually the two made it atop the fourth hokage's head statue.

"Why're we up here?" The girl asked another question.

Naruto sat at the edge of a hair and dangled his feet as a breeze brush passed his own hair.

"Going up here at night gives you the best view of the village, ya know?" He answered as Nia went over to sit next to him.

She dangled her feet over the edge also but felt very scared to be so high off the ground. The only reason she went all the way up the mountain was because she wanted to spend time with the person she loved. No mountain would be too high for her if it meant she could just spend a minute with the genin.

However, she did began to shake as she looked down at the beautiful view below. The lights made the village look as spectacular as much as the stars lit up the night sky.

Naruto looked to her, "Why're you shaking?"

"I'm not very good with heights at times." The girl answered.

Naruto took her hand and held it, "Will this calm you down?"

Nia began to shake even more.

"Gah, you're that scared?!"

Nia shook her head and blushed, "No... it's just that whenever you touch me I get really nervous."

"Now that I really think about it, you do..."

The genin stared at her blankly while Nia just got even more embarrassed. The guy was still holding onto her hand and she didn't know where to look, or at least, she was beginning to get awkward.

"You're so shy." The blond finally said as he kept trying to make eye contact with the girl as she kept darting her eyes away from his, "Why can't you look properly at me right now?"

"You're... handsome... and nice." The kunoichi admitted, "I'm just wondering why you're talking to a girl like me honestly."

"You don't need to tell me twice," Naruto ran his fingers through his hair then winked at the girl, "I know I'm sexy, ya know?"

Immediately, Nia bursted out laughing.

"You're so funny, I swear." She continued to laugh as she lightly pushed against the genin's arm in a flirtatious way.

This in turn caused Naruto to redden slightly, "You think so?"

"Mhm. You're hilarious. The things you do and say are funny. Even the way you react to things are really hilarious."

The teen only smiled and rubbed the back of his head while his left hand just kept holding onto Nia's right hand.

"Curly Brow?" He then called.

"Yeah?"

"...What do you like about me the most? I mean, I know why you like me and all, but what's your favorite thing about me?"

"Your warmth." The girl answered in no time at all.

Naruto tilted his head.

"You make me feel accepted," Nia started, "You have a way of making me feel liked and that I matter. Your warmth makes me feel I won't be judged harshly and that I can just be myself with you. You bring me up when I'm down and you're always, or a majority of the time, very kind to me. I feel like you're the type of person I can talk to about anything. You're also someone I can have a deep conversation with and someone I can joke around with. You have some sort of energy that attracts me to you. You're basically like a blanket to me: Warm, comforting, makes me feel safe, happy, secure, and protected."

"I'm warm... got it!" The blond grinned as a pink tinge made it onto his cheeks.

He then gazed at the girl as she smiled at him.

Kiba was really a fool to think Curly Brow would give any other guy the time or day. I'm the only one she wants. The only thing he proved to me is that she's a keeper!

"Curly Brow..." Naruto's tone began to get very serious. He squeezed onto Nia's hand, smiled warmly then said, "I love you."

As always, Nia nearly melted as the guy she cared for professed his love once more. She began to smile widely and blushed deeply as she looked away from his gaze.

Naruto took this chance to softly kiss her on the forehead as she didn't have her headband on at the time like he did. This was enough to get Nia to finally gaze back into his eyes. She just stared into them. They were normally blue but during nighttime, they would darken to that of a grey color.

His eyes were warm and they had a sparkle in them. Just by looking into them, Nia felt as though she could read everything he was feeling at the moment. Not too often did she share these types of moments with a guy she was interested in. However, the connection she felt with Naruto, was far beyond than what she had felt with anyone else ever before.

To her, he was like a sun. Someone who makes her shine and feel warm and alive.

As their smiles widened, they began to lean toward one another until their lips touched. Unlike their last couple kisses, this kiss was more like their first kiss: Soft, gentle, and tender.

They felt warm inside and Naruto cupped Nia's cheeks in his hands and deepened the kiss slightly. He could feel just how warm she felt as he did this. It was enough to let him know she was truly blushing and in return that made his heart jump with happiness.

They kissed like this for a little while longer before they pulled away and rested their foreheads against one another as they smiled happily at each other also. Eventually Nia became extremely shy and hid her face in her hands.

Naruto laughed softly and softly pushed his arm against her like she had done earlier to him. This got Nia to remove her hands away from her and to instead grin at the boy all while tucking some hair behind her ear.

"You're so sweet."She told him as she touched his arm.

"Well, of course I'm gonna be sweet to a girl that really cares about me, ya know?"

Nia scooted closer to Naruto, wrapped her arm around his arm, then rested her head on his shoulder as she stared out into the village.

"I love you," She said softly, "I can't wait to go on our date."

Quickly, Naruto stood up and nearly knocked Nia over the edge.

"OH YEAH!" He hollered as he seemed to have forgot that they had planned to go on a date, "That's what I was forgetting!"

"You almost pushed me off this thing, Naruto!" The kunoichi nearly lost her cool as she legitimately worried for her life then.

"I'm sorry, but this already is a date," The genin stated as he smiled down at the girl, "I wanted to spend time up here first so that I could show you how the village looks when the lights are making this place really stand out. I thought you might really like it, ya know?"

Or at least that's what the book Sai had about what girls find romantic said...

"Awww. That's so romantic, Naruto." Nia was impressed.

Naruto sighed in relief as he sweat dropped.

Thank youuu, Sai.

He then began looking into the sky with a smile as he placed his hands in his pockets.

"You know... one day I'm gonna be the best hokage that's ever lived..." He said with a calm tone.

Nia looked up at him as she continued to sit.

"I'm gonna prove to everyone just how awesome I really am. I'm gonna show the whole village that I'm someone who deserves their respect and acceptance."

"Well, you sure do have a lot of determination. When I saw you training with Jiraiya-sensei, I was super impressed. Hell, you have the attitude of a hokage too in my opinion. You care so much about people." Nia shared her honest opinion.

Naruto slightly blushed and looked at the girl, "Wow... you really think so, Curly Brow?"

Nia nodded, "I know so."

She then stood up and added, "Your dream is really awesome to me. When you talk about it, I can't help but to root you on. In fact, I really wanna see this happen. You have to be hokage!"

"You mean... you'll watch me become it?"

Nia nodded and grinned, "Hell yeah! I'll watch you every step of the way and will be cheering you on too! I believe in you, Naruto. You're awesome!"

Hearing this, Naruto began to develop tears in his eyes in an overly dramatic and comical way.

"C-Curly Brow!" He grabbed onto the girl's hands and brought it between them as he sniffled, "You always make me happy with what you say, ya know?"

This time, Nia was the one to sweat drop, "Naruto... your nose... you have snot dri-"

"I love you, ya know!" The genin hugged the girl tightly as he rubbed his cheek against hers once more.

"KYAAAA! Naruto! Naruto! Wipe your nose, dude! Your snot is about to get on me!"

Nia tried her hardest to get herself out of the hug, but Naruto just wouldn't let her go. Eventually his snot got on her and the girl nearly lost her mind. When he did let her go, he wiped his nose with his sleeve.

When he looked at Nia, his eyes widened as fire engulfed around her body. Snot was on her and she looked extremely pissed for a change.

"Guah!" He quickly realized his mistake, got on his knees, and bowed several times, "Please don't kill me! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!"

"I tried to tell you but you wouldn't listen. Now I have snot nearly all over me!" The girl was furious.

She took a step forward and Naruto screamed out of fear.

"Wait, Curly Brow! Just calm down!" The genin took out a handkerchief from his pocket, "Look! You can clean yourself with this, ya know!"

"IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT YOU PUT YOUR SNOT ON ME!"

"GUAAAAH!" Naruto screamed again as Nia got onto her knees and inched closer to him.

He turned to stone.

However, the girl only kissed him on the cheek, took his handkerchief, and wiped herself off.

Naruto returned to normal and stared at his comrade with widened eyes.

"Wait... isn't this the part where I'm sent flying?"

Nia laughed a little, "I'm not Sakura, Naruto. Even though you pissed me off right there, I still wouldn't lay a finger on you."

Naruto's eyes turned into hearts, "You're so gentle!"

"Do you always have to say that every time I forgive you?"

Naruto nodded quickly, "Yeah!"

He then took the girl's free hand and said, "Ichiraku is still open! You wanna get some ramen with me to finish off this date?"

With a soft smile, Nia accepted. Naruto then stood up and looked down to the village.

"Okay then! Let's hop off this-"

"ARE YOU CRAZY? There's no way in HELL I'm jumping down from this height!"

"Oh come on, this is the best part, ya know!"

"But Naruto, you know I'm scared of-"

The genin ignored the girl and wrapped an arm around Nia's waist and jumped off the stone face.

"KYAAAAAAAAAA!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as the two descended to the ground.

The wind nearly blew her glasses off as they were in midair. It took around five seconds for Naruto to find a landing and instructed Nia to use the chakra on her feet to give her a soft landing. She listened and in no time, the two landed on the ground.

"See?" Naruto grinned," Wasn't that fun?!"

Nia fell to her knees and breathed heavily, "I thought- I thought I was gonna die... Never... Never again..."

The blond chuckled, "Man, you're scared of everything."

"Of course I am!" The kunoichi stood quickly to her feet and got in Naruto's face, "I know what can kill a person!"

The genin lightly slapped the girl on the back and continued chuckling, "Lighten up, will ya? Now you know what to do when you're falling from a high place."

Nia sighed.

Again, Naruto took her by the hand and began pulling her forward as he pointed in the direction of his favorite restaurant.

"Come on," He said with such excitement, "Ichiraku is this way!"

As he held onto her hand and guided her enthusiastically through the streets of Konoha, Nia couldn't help but smile as she gazed at his hand holding her own.

This guy... is amazing.
