BONUS CHAPTER #40: There For Eachother

"Naruto..." Nia shyly stepped behind the blond and tapped on his shoulder. "I got the outfit on."

"It's about time, little Curly Br- GAH!" Naruto freaked out after turning to see Nia's outfit.

"D-Do you like it?" Nia questioned shyly.

"YOU CAN'T WEAR THAT TO THE RESTAURANT!"

"Huh? Why not?"

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?! YOUR TITTIES ARE HANGING OUT! THEY'RE TOO BIG, YA KNOW!"

"But Naruto, you said you loved this shirt on me before!"

"Ya! When it's worn for my eyes ONLY!"

"But this is the only shirt I look decent i-"

"You're not wearing that, Curly Brow."

Nia crossed her arms and turned.

"And why not?! You can't tell me what to wear."

Naruto stared at her miniskirt.

"Curly Brow, your cheeks are hanging out too," He told her.

"Kya! What?! No they're not!"

"If you bend over, your panties will show," The blond then approached the girl and lifted her skirt up a bit. "Unless you're wearing a thong again... which will make it- aha! I knew it! You are wearing a thong!"

"Kya!" Nia backed away. "What're you doing, Uzumaki?!"

"Curly Brow, take this whole outfit off right now!"

"No! I like my high waisted mini skirt and shirt!"

"It's too erotic."

"So?"

Naruto stepped forward.

"If other men see you looking this sexy, they'll try to take you away from me, ya know!"

"But Naruto, you know that's not true! No man would ever look at m-"

"Curly Brow," Naruto interrupted. "Don't start this with me. You're pretty. You're actually a really pretty girl... even without makeup. I don't understand what you're seeing in the mirror. When guys call you ugly... they're lying! You're beautiful."

Hearing this, Nia's heart thumped.

"But if I'm this pretty girl you claim I am, then why do guys call me ugly?"

"Well one, they're lying. Two, they're probably just trying to make themselves feel better cause they know someone as pretty as you would never date them."

"Naruto, they really do think I'm ugly though."

"Curly Brow, I'm telling you... they're LYING! You're hot!"

"Oh Naruto..."

"Seriously," The genin cupped her chin. "They're hating on you cause you're beautiful. They're mad cause they know you wouldn't give them a chance so they wanna bring you down to make themselves feel better or they're just following the crowd of bullying you so they seem cool to their friends. I'm telling you... everyone's hating on you."

"...I don't think so, Uzumaki. Why would men call me ugly when in actuality they think I'm fine? That doesn't make sense."

"I already told you what it probably is... You're pretty, Curly Brow. Pretty!"

"But I'm sure if I just even blink, I'm back to being ugly again or let me guess, a strand of hair goes out of place and I'm back to being ugly, or wait, maybe even better, if I breathe one time, I'm back to ugly."

"What're you trying to say? Like you think your face changes?"

"That's how people make it seem like even though that doesn't make sense. I wear the same outfit, the same hairstyle, I wear no makeup, I don't do ANYTHING to my face and people think I'm hot one day, and ugly the next. Or this is even more ridiculous, they think I'm hot for ten minutes but then literally two minutes later, even though I've done NOTHING to my face, they think I'm ugly again."

"I think you're always beautiful. Your face doesn't change. You look the same so that doesn't make sense. Like I said, they're hating hard on you cause you're pretty. That's all it is."

Nia stayed quiet.

"Curly Brow..." Naruto breathed. "You're not ugly. You're not some monstrous looking person. People are jealous of your beauty. They're jealous cause not only are you beautiful on the outside, but you're beautiful on the inside too and that drives them crazy. Being both pretty and kindhearted, loyal, more or less innocent, and not getting into trouble with crazy addictions like smoking or even drinking. They're hating on you. They don't like you cause they think you don't have any real serious flaws. To them, or at least a few of them, you're damn near perfect and it angers them so they try to find flaws you have and exaggerate them so they can put you down and feel better about themselves."

"But Naruto, I'm nowhere near perfect, I have serious flaws too."

"The only real ones you have is your self esteem, small butt, and how fa- I mean, chunky you are. I can't really think of anything else at the top of my head. But even so, even with those flaws and whatever ones I didn't mention, I still think you're so beautiful. I love you for YOU. Not because of what you look like, but because of who you are as a person. I see the true you and I love every bit of your soul that makes you who you are, ya know."

"Oh Naruto..." Nia teared up.

With that said, Naruto leaned forward and kissed the girl. Nia wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss.

When they pulled away, they rested their foreheads against one another.

"Curly Brow..." Naruto breathed. "You really are a pretty girl. Guys have been lying about your looks. They just can't admit that you're good looking. They call you ugly cause it's considered the cool thing to do amongst their friends. They're haters. As for women, they're jealous of your beauty. They see that you don't need makeup to be beautiful and that drives them crazy cause they're the ones who need makeup to be pretty, ya know."

"Naruto, I hear you, but..."

"There is no "but", that's how it is. Guys are attracted to you but don't wanna be made fun of by their friends since hating you is the cool thing to do and girls hate you cause you're naturally pretty and can most likely take their man if you wanted."

"I don't know about all that, but maybe there is a chance you could be right."

"Curly Brow, come here," Naruto pulled her in a hug.

Nia cuddled up to him.

"No matter what," The blond said. "Don't let anyone, man or female, define your worth or beauty. People who make fun of you or judge you by your looks is complete garbage. They do it because they don't like themselves. They do it to bring you down cause they know you're better looking than they are and feel as though they can't compete with you or have you. They're jealous of you... hating on you cause you're truly beautiful. I'm serious, ya know..."

"Oh Naruto..." Nia blushed.

Naruto held her tighter.

"You're a wonderful human being. Even if you were unattractive physically, you're still the most beautiful girl to me. I don't care about how you look. I care about your heart... your soul. To me, that's what makes you so gorgeous. Not just your appearance."

"I love you for you too, Uzumaki..." Nia told him.

Naruto smiled. Nia only stared at him.

"Naruto?" She called.

"Hm?"

"There's nothing... bothering you, is there?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, I feel so bad. You're always comforting me, but you never really share what bothers you. I'm here for you, too, if you need to vent."

"Little Curly Brow, I'm fine. And also, I don't mind you venting to me. I like hearing you share your feelings about things."

"Yeah, but you should be able to do the same with me. Remember, a relationship needs to have communication in order for it to work. I can't just be the only one venting while you keep everything bothering you to yourself, Uzumaki. That's not right."

"Curly Brow, I told you. I'm fine, ya know."

"Naruto..." Nia narrowed her eyes.

"Why're you looking at me like that, beautiful?"

"Because I want you to share what's going on with you. I mean, everything that has happened recently has been crazy. Like, for example... literally, you just found out that your best friend, who you thought was dead this whole time, is actually alive and that he faked his death. How do you feel about that?"

"Curly Brow, change the topic. I don't wanna talk about what's been going on with me. I wanna talk about your beauty," Naruto said.

"But Naruto, I'm also worried about y-"

"I said I don't wanna talk about it, alright?!" The blond snapped.

Hearing his tone of voice, tears surfaced in Nia's eyes.

"Oh no... Sweet Curly Brow... hold on," Naruto immediately seen this and felt bad.

"You yelled at me," The girl sniffled.

Naruto hugged her.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, beautiful. I didn't mean to raise my voice at you. I just... I just don't wanna talk about what's been going on right now, okay? I just want you to respect that."

"I do, but Uzumaki... Weren't you the one to tell me that it isn't good to keep my emotions bottled up and that when something is bothering me, to go vent to someone I trust and let it all out?"

"Well, ya... but-"

"Shouldn't that... apply to you as well?"

Naruto sighed.

"Listen, Curly Brow... I get that you're worried. I get that you want to make sure I'm just fine, but... I really am fine. Even though I felt hurt by what Sasuke did to fool me, I... still am relieved greatly that he's actually okay and still alive. I'm so happy that he is. That's all that matters to me, ya know."

"That's what... I wanted to hear from you, Uzumaki..."

"Curly Brow, don't worry about me. I'm totally just fine."

"Yeah, but the Akatsuki-"

"I said I'm fine."

"Oh Naruto..."

"Thank you for asking about me, though... You're incredibly sweet," Naruto smiled.

"Well, you're always reassuring me and trying to make me feel better about myself and situation. I want to do the same for you, honeybun."

"My sweet Curly Brow is so adorable," Naruto kissed Nia's forehead.

"Naruto?"

"Hm?"

"You know... it really makes me happy when you let me vent to you. Even if it's something as ridiculous or unimportant as my appearance. Listening to what you have to say and how you have my back makes me feel really attached to you and a lot better. I know it can get really annoying and very frustrating, but... I just truly appreciate you, your kind words, and your patience with me. You're such an amazing person, and I'm sorry if I'm overbearing."

"No, you're not overbearing. I truly appreciate the fact that you feel you can trust me with your insecurities. I know how hard it is when you're getting picked on and treated differently for something out of your control but Sweet Curly Brow, I truly mean what I say that you're an incredible and a beautiful human being. Why a lot of people don't see that will always boggle my mind. You're so much MORE than your appearance and I really hope one day, they'll open their eyes and see how deserving you are to be loved and treated with respect. I truly love you for who you are, sweetie."

"OH NARUTO!" Nia tightened her hold on him.

"Sweet Curly Brow..." The blond blushed.

"I'm always here for you too when you need me. You can come to me for anything. I may not have the answers or right words to say to you and your situation, but just know I care and that I'm willing to listen to anything you need to get off your chest."

"I appreciate that. Thank you, Curly Brow."

"I love you, Naruto."

"I love you too, Curly Brow."

"I just wanna be in your arms, Uzumaki..."

"I really like holding you, Curly Brow..." Naruto blushed.

"Oh Naruto..."

"Curly Brow..."

They stayed in that position for a few more moments.

"Now then..." Naruto grinned, "Let's get you changed and go on our date."

"Okay!" Nia chirped.

And so, the two spent the day together...
