RACISM & TRUE CRIME
Book 2️⃣ in the LIGHT IN THE DARK SERIES
Now I must say I did play on a character I created for my semi true experiences in early recovery which was "Swear I Never Would Club"
If you've read that one, I got to emotional and I don't know if i did it justice. It is mostly fictional; however there are a lot of real events mixed into the lustrous tale. The characters are all actual people I have known too!
Anyway Book 2️⃣ BLACK FRIDAY
I loved this tale. I was inspired by watching the news of course. The London Ontario family that were run down by that young man, leaving only the little boy to survive- really got me.
Yes it's a tragedy and horrific!
Yet, it made me wonder...
What makes someone do that?
Do they just snap one day?
Were they mentally challenged?
Or were they raised to become racist? How did society create this in a person? Yes I believe in Nurture over Nature; however "Nature" or our society plays a huge role in how we become who we are!!
Lee Anderson and his siblings are side characters in the protagonists story. Lee comes from the short I mentioned earlier based on a real life friend out there in the world today!
Our protagonist Eddie Powers, is a lower income lad. His friends are all on the poverty line and their neighbourhood is a run down trailer park that is being demolished for new modern homes.
As Eddie was subject to life's misfortunes, his family suffered and thus the impacts of society continued to teach him that there's no crawling out of poverty. No one must be gifted richness.
Eddie and his friends watched as their childhood was imploding and all that they knew was disappearing on them. Drugs, violence and crime come into play with heavy undertones of racism.
Who made who, who made YOU? As AC/DC put it.
What could create someone to run down a family based on their skin color or culture?
Take a read and follow Eddie down the path he was led. Let me know your thoughts.
Light in the Dark: Justice
A true crime story pulled from the headlines.
SILVER SPOON
I heard about this true story of a mother, her dream and the death of a loved one. I was compelled to say the least.
The who did this aspect was bewildering to me. The plausible conclusions weren't so convincing.
Without giving it away, I decided to re-tell the story with as much of the actual case that I could. I altered names and played a little on some old storyline I had tucked away.
Serena O'Hara is a heroine of mine. She is based on a real woman I met as a young man. A waitress in Rosie's Bar & Grill West Edmonton Mall circa 1998
Red headed goddess, in my opinion.
Anyway I created her for my first horror tale MELEE MURDERS
Spoiler she survived!
I then was dreaming up a Cult Tale and researching beliefs in the goddess Lilith and BAM Serena had to come back for this story!
Well now years later in my storybook world, I intertwined the previous histories of the character into making this real life story plausible.
I'll leave it up to you to devour and get your take on the character. I did throw in a media theory to sum up the chaotic true story as well!
At the end of this story, you'll be able to read all about the real life story!
