It was a warm summer afternoon in Kalos as Dusk trotted through a forest, he hasn't eaten for a while and decides to rest under a big tree for a moment.

Lightning was playing around in the grass when she spotted someone resting under a tree.

Dusk lets out a sigh of relief as he had been traveling for quite a while, until his stomach begins to growl taking him out of his peaceful thoughts.

Lightning heard the Pokémon's stomach growl and quickly ran off to pick a berry. She ran towards the Pokémon and offered it a half of an Oran berry.

Dusk looks up and sees a Pikachu offering him an Oran berry. "I-is that for me?," he asked the female Pikachu curiously.

"Yes" she answered to the Eevee in front of her.

Dusk gladly takes the berry from the Pikachu.  "Thank you," he says as he munches down into it, the savourous juices swirling in his mouth settling down his hunger.

"Your welcome" she said to the Eevee happily.

As he finished the berry he looked back at the Pikachu.  Her pink bow complimented her cheerful attitude well...I dare say she was cute......wait what!? He shook his head from his thoughts, how could I be thinking that?  I just met this girl?  I don't even know her name!!

Lightning looks at the Eevee and giggled.

"W-what's so funny?  Do I have berry juice on my mouth again," Dusk asked confused.

"No, you are just funny" She giggled.

Dusk managed to crack a smile.  "Well, thanks again for the berry miss," he said.

"Your welcome, the name is Lightning by the way" she spoke.

" Heh, that's a very nice name for you," Dusk told her with a smile.  "My name is Dusk".

"Nice name" Lightning winked.

"Heh, thank you," Dusk replied.  He gave her another glance lost in thought a bit.  It's so strange...she's just like Spike..

She cleared her throat a bit, "so how did you get your name?"

Dusk looked down.  "I'm not too sure myself...My mother gave it to me, but I never had the chance to ask her why before she passed away... Though, looking back at it...I think I could see why..." he said as he turned away from Lightning, hiding his face.

"Oh, that's so sad" she spoke sadly.

"Yeah..." Dusk replied sullenly.  He turned to her "What about you Lightning? How did you get your name?"

"I got my name because I am an electric type and my dad told me that I hatched by the first strike of lightning. My mother gave me the name when I was just a little Pichu before she was captured by a trainer" Lightning explained to Dusk.

"Oh...I'm sorry to hear that Lightning..." he said sadly. He placed a paw on Lightning's back.

"It's all right" she replied looking back at him. When they spotted a shadow flying past them up in the sky. It looked like a huge Legendary Pokémon but, it was hard to see.

Dusk looked up as well "huh?  Is that....is that a...?"

"Arceus, I hope that isn't Yveltal..." he said to Lightning.

"Me neither" she answered, "what do you think it was?"

"I-I don't know..." Dusk replied shaking in fear as well. "Maybe we should check it out."

"W-we should" Lightning trembled in fear.

Dusk recomposed himself and looked at Lightning.  "D-don't worry Lightning.  If anything happens, I'll keep you safe."

"Thank you" she spoke in a very kind thankful voice.

They both went to where the creature in the sky they saw had gone.

"There it is Lightning" Dusk said as he spotted the creature.

"It must be" she replied, looking at the creature from the outside of the cave. It was Ho-oh, the Rainbow Pokémon. They smiled at each other and laughed like little Pokémon. The legend of Ho-oh said that if you see Ho-oh you will gain eternal happiness, which was happening to them.

"I've never thought I'd see Ho-oh with my own eyes..." Dusk said as he glanced at Lightning with a smile.  "I'm happy I got to share this moment with you Lightning."

"Me too" she smiled.

He stares back into her amber eyes. He feels a strange feeling inside his stomach as he does. He didn't understand what it was. But he felt so.... happy.

Lightning didn't know why she felt so happy right now, either, maybe the legend is true?

Dusk continued staring at her lost in his thoughts.  Is the legend true?...Will I really find eternal happiness with her?

"Will I have eternal happiness with him?" Lightning thought.

A flood of thoughts passed through Dusk's mind of them together.  Laughing together, eating together, playing together, sleeping toge-wait what!?  I shouldn't think that!  We just met!  But then.... why does it feel so right...?

They continue staring at each other, oblivious to time itself as the sun soon began to set over the tree lines.

Lightning didn't know what was wrong with her stomach, she felt so jolly all of a sudden. They looked behind them and looked at the sunset together.

He sat beside her as they watched the sunset, their fur brushing against each other.  "What a beautiful sunset," Dusk said softly to her.

"Agreed" Lightning replied the sun glittering in her eyes like sparks.

Unbeknownst to him, his face had a tinge of red, though it was subtle enough to be hidden under his brown-furred cheeks.

Dusk glanced over to her and his eyes locked onto hers so full of sparkles and life.  He couldn't help but smile widely from the sight.

Lightning was very confused about this. she felt like a little Pichu again, but somehow she started to feel comfortable beside Dusk.

He'd never felt this happy ever since he lost Spike...maybe she really is the one for him... he hadn't realized it yet but he'd rested his cheek softly against hers.

Lightning looked left and right of her confused, but somehow blushed by it.

They saw Ho-oh come out of the cave and gazed at them with curious eyes before  flying into the sunset.

Ho-oh's wings sparkled in the sky illuminating the sky above them.

Dusk felt her cheek heat up a bit from the blush and realize he's resting against it.  He pulled away off her cheek blushing profoundly.  "I...I'm sorry about that Lightning," he said nervously.  "I didn't know what came over me there..."

"I don't know what happened, it felt nice when Ho-oh was here" Lightning replied.

"I-I agree," Dusk replied back to her.  He looked up as dusk approaches, revealing the stars above them. "It sure is a beautiful night though," he said to her.  Dusk turns to face her.  "Oh!  I'm sorry, did you have to go back home Lightning?  I-I didn't mean for us to be out this late."

"Don't worry, it's fine. My Pikachu family won't mind. They are very kind to their fellow Pikachu" she replied, and started to run in the direction back home to her Pikachu family.

"Ok bye Lightning" Dusk replied back as he watched her run back home.  "Guess I'd better find a place to sleep..." he began searching for a shelter to rest for the night.

She stopped and turned around to see Dusk looking for a place to sleep. "Want to come with me?" she asked.

He looked up to her, "I wont be a burden for your family would I?"

"No, I'm sure they'll be fine with it. Come on" she responded to him.

"Ok," Dusk replied back as he followed Lightning back to her home.

Dusk met her pack leader, who was a Raichu, named Thunder. "Hello Lightning, you're back" he responded cheerfully. "And who is this are you a friend of Lightning?"

"Yes sir, my name is Dusk," Dusk replied to Thunder as he bowed in respect.

"Wow, you are very respectful, young one" Thunder replied to Dusk.

"Thank you sir.  It's an honor to be accepted in your community sir," Dusk replied with a smile.
