He shot up straight from his bed. He could hear his heart pounding as sweat drenched him all over. He looked incredibly pale and his hands turned cold. His eyes were wide open but mind still shut from reality as the effect of the nightmare he just had. He felt as if his soul has been snatched away.

He quickly grabbed the glass of water on his bedside table and gulped it all down. His shirt was completely drenched too from all that sweating. He tried his best to calm down, telling himself that it was just a nightmare, but it seemed impossible. The screams of a baby, a screeching sound, the sound of a car crash, all of it is still ringing in his ears. He closed his eyes hoping those sounds will fade away. 7 years passed but those sounds still hunt him like it happened yesterday. He couldn’t even take a nap peacefully in those 7 years.

He got down from his bed and walked to the window opposite his bed. He pushed the drapes of the window open and looks out at the deep blue sky with patches of clouds spreading across. A flock of bird was flying across the opposite building, chirping as they were moving. The sun was slowly rising indicating the start of a new day. It was a beautiful day but nothing seemed beautiful to him anymore because his world stopped 7 years ago.

Now the only reason he chooses to continue to live is for his parents. The ones who worked day and night just to raise him up when his real parents decided to throw him away. Yes, he was an adopted child. His real parents left him near a dustbin where his adopted parents found him and choose to never let him go. The fought all out at court and adopted him legally. He only got to know about this when he was 21. At first, he was entirely shattered by the thought that he was unwanted by his own parents but then he thought back upon all the sacrifices his adopted parents have made for him in the last 21 years of their lives. So, he has decided to never talk about it to his parents and to never leave them alone.

He took a deep breath and freshened up. Half an hour later, he came down to have his breakfast with a well-fitted black trouser, neatly ironed red t-shirt, a black tie and a black suit . He is the well know businessman who swept off the ‘The Businessman Of The Year” award for 6 years constructively. Yes, he is Mr. Naga Chaitanya, the owner of “Chay Enterprise”.

“Good morning ma, pa” He greeted his parents. “Good morning son. Come and have your breakfast. I have prepared your favorite today.” His mom replied with a smile. Meanwhile, his dad continued to focus on the newspaper he was holding. The sweet aroma of pancakes and coffee has made his tummy grumble from the start. His mother served him breakfast with a smiling face and quickly sat down beside him.

“Chay, do you remember aunty Devi? She came to our house yesterday. She started the conversation carefully. Chay’s eyes was focused on his plate, he didn’t look at his mom.

“Her daughter Vithiya has returned from Australia after finishing her masters there it seems.” She continued. Chay sighs. He knows where his mother is bringing this story to.

“So what mom?” He asked with an annoyed face. “No dear, she told me that she was looking for an alliance for her daughter and it seems that her daughter had a crush on you when she was a teenager. So, she was thinking…”

Before she could continue, Chay interrupted. “So, she wants me to marry her daughter? Seriously mom? You know I’m in what kind of condition right now and you are asking me to get married again?” He started to fume up in anger. He got up and washed his hands. He has lost his appetite to eat.

“How long are you going to be like this Chay? Maya left you 7 years ago. It is already 7 god damn years! Don’t you want to live a happy life again? Don’t you want to have kids? Don’t you want us to see you happy?” his mom looked at him, tears welled up in her eyes.

All she ever wanted was to see her son happy, has his own family and forgets about the past to move on with life. Won’t she get the chance to see all of this before she closes her eyes in peace? She don’t want him to be alone after she and his father has left the world but Chay doesn’t understand this. Sigh, she has been praying for 7 years now. Possibly, she feel as if she will die without having the chance to see her son leading a happy life.

Chay’s POV

“Not this topic again” He thought for a second. He knows his mom only wants to see him happy but at the same time he could not forget Maya, his wife whom he loved with all his heart. She was his heartbeat. When she left this world, he can’t fill up her place with another girl. The word love had disappeared from his life 7 years ago. He took his car keys and headed straight to his office. On the way, he slowly reminisced all the lovely moments he had with Maya.

He loved her with all his heart. Maya loves surprises. So, Chay will put in all his effort to keep surprising her even though he runs out of money sometimes. He does not only surprise her on special or eventful days, he surprises her on normal day too. He turned their arranged marriage into a love marriage slowly. For 2 years, only 2 years, he lived his life to the fullest with Maya. After that, god decided to take her away from him. Far, far away from him till her can’t reach her anymore. God seemed even crueler as he snatched her away from him when she was pregnant. Chay can still feel the pain in his heart. The pain of a thousand needle poking his heart. He stopped believing in god right after that incident. How can mom still think that I can have another girl in my life? I can’t replace Maya's place. She will always have a special place in my heart along with my unborn baby. Slowly his car reached the destination.

Good afternoon my lovely readers. So here is chapter 3. A quite long chapter compare to first and second chapter. Well well well , our hero of the story is introduced. Well , many of you asked me why I didn't change Sam and Chay's name. Idk tho :) I love to ship their name and I thought its beautiful to kept it like that and I personally think its easier to imagine and go along with the plot.

Some things has been revealed here :'). But lemme remind you guys , this is not a fanfic. I didn't planned it to be fanfic. A new character revealed here which is Maya.
