Chapter 2: Into the Wild
Sandgem Town Pokémon Center, Sinnoh Region
A small bipedal Pokémon that resembled a chimpanzee with orange fur and a noticeable flame blazing brightly that could resemble a tail stood watching two larger Pokèmon. He was a small chimp Pokèmon known as Chimchar. He was listening to two Pokèmon that looked so similar to him that it couldn't be mistaken they were related. They were in fact an evolution of his species: Infernape. They resembled more of a larger type of monkey, a primate with reddish brown fur. The major difference, however, were the several gold markings that adorned their body: swirled, circular ones on their knees and shoulders. Flame- shaped ones were on the back of their hands and a stripe around their backs that formed two swirls on their chest. On top of their head was a large flame, blazing larger and brighter than the one on the chimps rear. An everlasting flame that could never be extinguished, even in the strongest rainstorm.
The two were male and female, conversing amongst each other about something very important. "We will not stay here no longer! We should escape this place tonight!!" The male Infernape said.
"Indeed." The female nodded in agreement, full heartedly. "We shall not be human owned no longer. We are far more superior than these inferior humans who just treat us like tools. I can't stand being forced into breeding multiple times just so our children can be enslaved by newbie trainers!! I expect my children to do great things but this is just starting to get ridiculous. What do we get for all our hard work anyways?!"
Then the little fire chimp found the pause he was waiting for and spoke up, "where are you going?" He asked.
"We are going to escape into the wild to become free Pokémon," the female explained.
"B-but what about me?" The little pre-evolution asked.
"You can come too..." With a slight pause, the male continued. "If you prove yourself worthy that is. You are not like the others, Inferno. You have a gift."
The Chimchar named Inferno cocked his head in curiosity from what his father meant. "A gift?
I'm not that special. I look like a normal Chimchar. I'm not shiny like Red is."
"Red has chosen the path of weakness. She wanted a trainer and she got one. You- on the other hand, are better than she will ever be. A shiny may be a rarer color variant but that doesn't make them that great in strength. Those pathetic humans are only blinded by the slight different color than really potential in strength.
Strength is harder to maintain and is how you can truly be the best." The male Infernape stated.
"Kajisaru is right. If you want to come with us, you must prove your strength by being able to escape your Pokeball on your own so you can come with us." The female told Inferno.
"If you can pass this test then you have proven your worth to us. But.. if you don't you will be doomed to be human owned like the others. It is your choice son. Choose wisely." Kajisaru responded with a look of dominance.
"I am certain, you will make the right choice. I can see in you, a Chimchar that can have a far brighter future ahead. One where only the strongest can live and survive. You will be strong enough to lead and make the world far better than what those weaklings can comprehend. Together we will make a far better world for us. Who needs humans when we can grow stronger ourselves.
"Yes sir!" Inferno nodded in determination.
🔥🔥🔥
That night, Inferno was inside his Pokeball for the night. He was told from his parents that if he wanted to come with him he had to escape his Pokeball on his own. Am I capable to do that? I'm only 10 years old? No! I must! I must stay determined. This is what I must do. I want to be strong but I do not want to be strong for a trainer, I want to be strong for myself. I'm an independent Pokémon! If a Pikachu and Eevee can move a Pokeball then so can I! He shook his Pokeball that was on a table around. He finally managed to push his ball off the table and to the ground but not before hitting the pokeball next to his on the ground with him. His ball hit the ground right on the release button. He was free at last!
However, the Pokeball he knocked over with him opened as well. A female Piplup popped out of the Pokeball in anger, shaking her head in frustration. "What?! What is going on here?! Where are you going, Inferno? What are you up to?" She asked.
"S-Sorry Pinga... I didn't mean to wake you up.
Just going out with my parents" Inferno answered.
"To where?"
"To a special place. Where strong-willed
Pokémon go."
"And where would that be?"
"Into the wilderness..." he gulped, worried about what she would think.
"Hmm... I do want to be strong too. I guess I'll follow you out since I feel that a wild Pokémon can do more in their free will than having to do a young trainer's bidding but I think I'll go on my own route. I don't trust where you and your parents plan to go or do. I never did! I see strange intentions with you three and I don't tend to find out what you're planning."
Inferno was surprised she didn't deny him for his plan of escape but he also wasn't really thrilled about her snooty attitude towards him and his parents. He just simply rolled his eyes and shrugged it off without much care. Maybe she wanted the same wish as they had: Freedom.
The Piplup jumped onto the window sill of the lab and opened the window. "Come on this way!" She told Inferno.
"Oh wow! She's clever. I was going to use the front door but I guess the window is less noisy." Inferno thought.
They both jumped out of the window and landed on the soft grass outside.
Inferno waved goodbye and thanked Pinga for the help before they went their own separate ways. Inferno straight away went to look for his parents in the forest to prove his success and celebrate his new accomplishment.
When he found them, they were so proud to see that he made it out. "Good job son!" Kajisaru complimented.
"Thanks dad." He responded with a smile.
His mother took a deep breath in and out.
"Finally! The taste of freedom at last." She spoke.
"We are finally free, Azar! To live as a Pokémon should." Kajisaru said.
"So where are we headed to first?" Inferno asked.
With that question, Kajisaru and Azar frowned. "We're sorry, son, but we think you should travel on your own. Take your own path. Start your own journey in the wild." Azar spoke up.
Inferno gazed at his parents, confused. "Wh-what?! You're le-leaving me like this?! But I don't even know what the wild is like or how dangerous it is."
"Neither do we, but this is a nice start. Like we said, we want a world where only the strongest will live. This'll be your big test to prove how strong you are. You must go on your own son and learn to survive by yourself. I'm sure you'll understand. You need to lead your own life and find your own purpose. We need your help to rid the world of the weak and help make the world of the most powerful thrive. Are you saying you can't handle it?" Kajisaru asked, his face beginning to form a sinister snarl.
"N-No..." Inferno swallowed, giving his father a nervous smile. "I mean... I u-understand. I can do this. I'll be fine on my own, I promise you!"
"Good. Now that's what I'd like to hear, son! I'm proud of you! I was almost thinking that you were backing down like a weakling. I would've had no choice but to rip you to shreds if you chose that." Kajisaru laughed. "I think we should be going now! So run along son and good luck!"
Inferno didn't have to be told twice. Now he was starting to fear his parents and was starting to think Pinga was right. "No! I must not think that! I have to be strong! I must be the strongest Infernape there ever was! I can't be afraid of anything! I need to create a world where only the strongest will survive and that's what I'm going to do! But first I must evolve! I can't be a Chimchar forever! Still being a pathetic pre-evolution makes me appear weak! I must evolve as quickly as possible! Even if I have to burn this whole forest down! I will be stronger than my parents and make them pay for betraying me!!"
During Inferno's raging thoughts, he suddenly heard something behind a bush. It sounded like someone else was having a raging fit only it was way more violent from the sound of it. He quietly peeked behind a bush with mild curiosity to see who was making that ruckus and what he saw was a young Mankey punching a tree in raw anger. "How could I be so stupid!!" He growled, punching a fist into the tree trunk. "How did I take a wrong turn?! Now I'm lost!!"
Trying not to become the young Mankey's next punching bag, Inferno attempted to quietly step back out of the bush and leave without being noticed, only to make the bush rustle in his efforts, causing the Mankey to stop what he was doing and look his direction. Inferno stopped moving and tried to be as still as a statue.
"I know you're in there, you spy!!!" The Mankey growled, running towards him. Inferno sighed, realizing he'd just been caught before leaping out of the bush and violently used Scratch on the Mankey.
"GAHHHH!!! STOP!!! YOU BIG MEANIE!!!" The Mankey yelled.
"You started it!" Inferno argued.
"No, I didn't!! I haven't even landed a hit on you yet!"
"Well... You were trying to!"
"Just forget it then!" The Mankey grumbled, punching the ground.
"What's wrong with you?" Inferno asked.
"I'm lost! GAHH!! I hate when I get lost and can't find my stupid home village! I want to prove to my family that I can be the strongest Primeape when I grow up but if I can't find my way back then I would have to live without being able to beat my siblings to a pulp anymore. I can't prove anything!" The Mankey answered, crossing his arms, steam coming out of his pig-like snout.
"I can help you find your home, kid. Although I have my own family issues after my family suddenly ditched me, I think we could help each other train to become stronger."
"That'll be great! Having our own personal trainer would really help us beat the weaklings to a pulp. Everyone would be afraid of us!"
"Yeah, exactly!" The Chimchar smiled. "What's your name by the way, kid?"
"I'm Abrafo. My name is supposed to mean a strong warrior who can kill. I cause trouble everywhere I go because of my rage but it's something I enjoy. I think it's fun seeing others suffer." Abrafo smirked.
"You and me both! Especially now! We got a lot alike, Abrafo. I think we're going to make a great team." Inferno replied.
"I have a feeling we will too." Abrafo nodded.
"Let's get you home, Abrafo."
"Do you have a place to go, Inferno?"
"Not really. I just got here, in this forest actually."
"Well maybe you can stay with me for a while until you decide where you belong."
"That'll be nice and I promise we'll train as much as we can as long as I'm here with you."
The two monkey Pokèmon continued together through the forest getting to know each other as they walked back to Abrafo's home. Little did they know, they would be together to cause all sorts of trouble for a very long time and even be a part of something greater. Something way more sinister...

It's been a while since I've updated this story. Or any other story for that matter. Hope you enjoyed. More will be coming soon...
This is definitely the beginning of Inferno and Abrafo's story arc and how they became who they are and what happened to them through their lives. This whole story is about origins of these characters.
A lot of this chapter would be featured in other stories once I work on them since they would be connected together with this one.
