15-After the War
"Thanks, Han and Gyo. I owe you guys." The pinkette says, going up to them both and rubbing the spot in between their eyes. They both purr.
It's our pleasure.
You don't owe us anything. Gyo adds.
"Nonsense. When we get back, I'll let all of you roam around for a bit. I promise." The pinkette replies. Both dragons nod their heads. "We'll take it from here. Thanks again." Sakura says, walking to Han's back and helping Sasuke off. She slings his one remaining arm over her shoulder and starts walking to Konoha's tent, Kakashi doing the same to Naruto. She stumbles a bit, her injuries and severe depletion of chakra affecting her, yet she pushes on. Her teammate notices this.
"Sakura, its fine. I can walk." The raven says.
"No. I got this. You shouldn't be walking right now. I have enough energy to get us there." The pinkette replies, pushing through the pain. They walk on in silence until someone yells, "It's Team Seven!" A squad of medics rush towards the group, Tsunade and the rest of Konoha 11 right behind them. The medics take Sasuke and Naruto away and Sakura falls to the ground, exhausted and eyes closing.
"Forehead!"
"Sakura!" Ino and Tsunade yell, immediately rushing to the pinkette's side. The hokage's hands light up green as she pumps chakra into her students' body, trying to find the problem. Her eyes widen as she discovers the issue, then soften in respect at her student. "She's alright. Her chakra levels are completely depleted and she has some minor injuries, but she's fine." The blonde woman carefully picks up the pinkette and the group heads back to their tents.
~
Sakura yawns, stretching.
"You're awake."
Sakura' eyes immediately dart to the person and relaxes upon realizing it is none other than her teacher.
"Hai."
Tsunade smiles, hands lighting up as she pumps chakra into Sakura's system. "Tell me... how were you running past empty on chakra, yet still managed to summon two dragons that carried four people at least a hundred miles. Not to mention the fact that you healed Naruto and Sasuke almost completely."
"You already know the answer, Shishou." The pinkette replies.
Her teacher pauses, then nods her head. "I do. I'm proud of you, Sakura. You've really proven yourself." She ruffles her apprentices' hair in affection.
The pinkette blushes, smiling. After a minute, she decides to speak, noticing that she is not in a tent, but rather a hospital room. "How long was I out for?"
"Three weeks." Her teacher responds, and the pinkette's eyes widen.
"Really?! Are there any more people for me to heal? I need to do something! I can't believe I've been unconscious for so long!" The pinkette yells, grabbing her hair and rocking back and forth.
"Sakura. I'm giving you the week off, relax." Her sensei says.
"No! I've got to get to work right away!" Sakura says, throwing the sheets off of her and standing up.
Tsunade smiles. "You're definitely my student. Come back tonight and we'll figure something out."
"Hai!" Sakura replies, heading to the window and jumping out, then running towards her apartment to change and get ready.
~
After getting showered and changed, the pinkette makes a sandwich, grabs her gloves, and heads out the door. She arrives at the training grounds minutes later.
Rui, how do I do this again?
All you have to do is send a little bit of chakra to each of the dragons and think, "come!" Then, they'll appear before you.
How come I never did that before, but they all came?
That's because your life was in danger, and you're their host. If you die, they would have no where to go. But now you're forming a bond with them.
Okay, thanks Rui.
Mhm.
Sakura sends chakra to each dragon and thinks, come! as instructed. Immediately, all thirteen dragons appear before her.
You summoned us, little one? Ri asks, and the pinkette nods.
As my thanks for your assistance in the war, I give you all the day to roam around. The only thing I ask is that you don't eat crops or people from here, cause mayhem, or set fires.
She's talking to you, Ka. O says.
She's also taking about you, stupid. Ka replies.
Sakura smiles. Don't get in trouble.
We'll try. Attor responds, the dragons heading into different directions by flying, digging, or walking.
The pinkette watches for a moment before deciding to get a meal at Ichiraku's. She sits down, looking at the choices, and finally settles on some miso soup.
"Hey, where do you think Sakura-chan is?" A familiar blonde says a few buildings down. The pinkette listens intently.
"I-I-I don't k-know... m-maybe s-she finally got l-let o-o-out." Hinata replies, their voices getting closer.
"I hope she did, dattebayo!" Naruto says, and the pinkette's lips curve up into a small smile. Eventually the couple enter Ichiraku's and Sakura smiles, waving at the two.
"Hey, guys!"
"Sakura-chan!!!" Naruto exclaims, hugging her with his one arm.
"H-hello S-Sakura-san." Hinata greets.
"I see I missed some stuff while I was out." The pinkette says, giving Hinata a 'ooh are you guys dating' look. Hinata blushes deeply, shaking her head that nothing is going on between the pair. Sakura raises her eyebrows, yet does not press further.
"Ehhh.... nothing really. We've just been repairing Konoha. Oh, and Sasuke's officially returned to team seven!" Naruto says, the pair sitting down beside Sakura.
"Really?! I thought for sure he would've left by now." Sakura replies.
"Me too, but he said that he wanted to 'change his ways' or something like that."
"Mhm."
~
The pinkette exits the ramen shop, leaving the future lovers to their meal. As she's walking, she mulls through her thoughts. She's so busy thinking about how Hinata and Naruto are perfect for each other, and that she'll never date anyone, when she bumps into someone.
"Eek!" She squeals, falling backwards. Just before she is about to land, a hand grabs her own and grabs her waist, steadying her. She blushes upon realizing it is none other than Sasuke.
"Watch where you're going next time. Hn." He says, letting go of her.
"Thanks Sasuke-kun." The pinkette replies, starting to walk away. Suddenly, a hand latches onto her own, stopping her from moving. "E-eh?!" She says, blushing.
"Want to go for a walk?" Sasuke asks.
"S-sure." Sakura responds, walking in step with him. The two walk in silence for a bit, glancing at their entwined hands once in awhile but neither opposing it.
"Sakura... I'm not a man of many words, but... You know... when I left team seven, part of the reason why I left was because of you." The raven says.
Sakura frowns, looking down. "Yeah, because I was annoying and useless."
"No. It's because I realized I was falling in love with you." Sasuke says, and the pinkette looks up, meeting his gaze and blushing.
"Y-y-you-"
"When you sacrificed yourself, I felt so... numb... like the world became dull for me..."
"Sasuke?"
"I guess what I'm trying to say... is that you're really special to me, and I don't want to lose you. Not again." The raven says, eyes full of emotion. The pinkette's eyes start to water as she hugs the raven tightly. The raven, at first shocked, slowly wraps his arms around the pinkette.
"Sasuke-kun... I really... I really missed you." Sakura says, wiping the tears from her eyes and smiling brightly. The corners of the raven's lips turn upwards into a small smile as he takes ahold of her hand and the two start on their walk.
