Chapter 3
I thought about the dream. It was said in Heaven that when Angels have dreams it is usually a memory or a warning or message from the future. I hope I will never have to see my Willow in that kind of pain in the real world. There is only so much I can handle and I don't think that exactly fits within that list. After recollecting myself I remembered that I texted Willow last night, I wondered if I had gotten a reply and decided to check.
I grabbed my phone off of the desk and say that she sent a reply saying, "Goodnight Lux. *black heart emoji*" I slipped out of bed and to the closet where I put on white converse, black skinnies with holes where the knees were, a watch on my left wrist, and a blue shirt from Colorado which I tied up a bit in the front. I flipped my hair into a messy bun, grabbed my things and started my journey to my awaiting Willow.
Once I got to the school I walked to the piano room where I knew my darling girl would be playing. When I got closer I started hearing the faint sound of,"Bella's Lullaby" by, Carter Burwell. A simple yet beautiful composition I could listen to for days on end. It reminded me of the meadow atop the hill hidden by trees not too far from here that no one seems to know about. That is when an idea struck me. I sped up my pace and when I got to Willow she smiled at me like a little kid on Christmas and her eyes studied me fondly. I bust out before she could even speak, "Do you want to go on an adventure with me? I know this place that's not to far fro-" She cut me off by placing her hand over my mouth, smile never fading from her face, crinkles not leaving her eyes when she said simply, "Let's go."
I nodded while she grabbed her bag and hand in hand we raced back out to my car and made a break for the meadows. The whole way there I kept glancing at her while she stared at the window as her eyes followed the walls of trees and fog. Her beauty captivated me and every time I had to look back at the rode it killed me a little more. You could hear the radio playing at medium volume and I recognized the song to be, "From Eden" by Hozier. The lyrics made sense when you look at Willow, that is probably why I like it so much, "Babe, there's something tragic about you, something so magic about you, don't you agree? Babe, there's something lonesome about you, something so wholesome about you. Get closer to me."
When she glanced at me she caught me staring and she blushed, smiled cutely, and turned back to the window trying to hide her face. I felt my heart stutter a bit at this but there was nothing unusual about that, right? When we got to the hill she looked a bit confused at first and I could tell she was about to ask before I jumped out of the car and headed to her side to get the door for her. She just stared at me for a minute before I asked jokingly, "You coming or not?" while I chuckled a bit at the end. She shrugged and hopped out. I started walking up the hill and Willow followed closely behind keeping a light grip on the back of my shirt.
Once we made it to the clearing at the top I felt her let go of my shirt and heard her feet stop in their tracks. I understood why she stopped, all the butterflies were out today and the meadow couldn't have been more vibrant and beautiful. I stopped a minute too just to take it all in. After my thoughts came back to me I turned around and when I saw Willow looking around her at the meadow I unconsciously smiled. I smiled because although she thinks this is so beautiful, all the beauty in this meadow just revolved around her. I took her and and lead her to the middle of it where we sat down and just admired it all. We were silent for a while before she spoke up, "How did you find this place?"
I looked at her adorable curiousness and told her, "When I moved here, I got bored when I was unpacking my things and decided to walk around a bit, I was drawn here and I don't know, just stumbled across it I guess." She nodded in an understanding way. Then I began making her a flower crown when I heard her gasp. I looked over at her and saw her looking at my back though a small piece of red stained glass that seemed to have broken off of something. Her mouth was agape and she had a smoked expression on her face. I asked abruptly and a little snappier than I intended, "What?"
She pulled away from the glass to look at me and she just said, "I thought I saw feathers or wings or something coming out of your back. I-I'm sorry, it was probably just my imagination." She knelt her head down looking ashamed that she had thought of such things but all I could think about was to be careful around stained glass from now on. I tried to hide the panic on my face with confusion but when she looked back up at me I knew she saw right through it.

I placed the crown upon her head and she absolutely radiated happiness. She giggled like a toddler and I felt my heart ache when I realized just how bad I wanted this sweet and beautiful creature that sits before me. How could anyone hurt such a thing? Then I remembered my dream from the night before. I hadn't realized how long I was zoning out before I heard Willow repeatedly asking my name and I shook my head as I slowly returned to reality. I noticed I had a tear rolling down my cheek and I wiped it off as I posed a fake smile to assure Willow I was ok. She seemed to ease up a bit but I could tell she knew something was up.

We stayed till sunset tickling each other and chasing each other through the meadow before we decided to head home. I will never forget that day with her. I will always cherish her beauty and keep her memory no matter where I go.
