004 - bad news blair

"Hi, the Upper East Siders, there's nothing Gossip Girl likes more than surprises and we see the 2 in 1 formula enjoyed Blair Waldorf.

Her mother Eleanor who has just returned from Paris and Serena Van Der Woodsen lunching with girlfriends"

KENNEDY WALKS ALONG THE sidewalk carrying her shopping bags alongside Anastasia laughing about something the blonde said, "Thanks for coming again Stas" Kennedy says.

"Of course Ken, I'm here always, how's Nate?" Anastasia smirks seeing the crimson red forming on Kennedy's cheeks.

"He's good, he walked me home last week" Kennedy explains.

"He's a gentleman, what's going on with you, Blair and Serena?" Anastasia asks biting into her apple she's carrying.

"We sort of sorted stuff out, I'm going over to Blair's soon to see her mother since she's just got back from Paris" Kennedy replies.

"Well, I should get back to mine before my parents have a fit about me being out all night last night, text me?" Anastasia smiles walking down into the train station.

"Of course Stasia, see you soon!" Kennedy shouts over the noisy traffic quickly walking back to the hotel to drop her things in her room and make her way to Blair's suite knowing Serena's already there.

WALKING INTO BLAIR'S suite smiling at the brunette, "Hey B, Hey S" Kennedy waves hearing a gasp behind her.

"Kennedy!" Ms Waldorf exclaims seeing the brunette.

"You look gorgeous!" Eleanor states looking at the girls figure and smiling at Serena and Blair.

"Thanks Ms Waldorf" Kennedy giggles eyeing the new clothes off seeing the woman nod and gesture to the new line of hers.

Kennedy looks at the clothes in shock while listening to Ms Waldorf's personal assistant discuss the upcoming shoot.

"This one, Mister Q at the Chloé show, because she was throwing up a pear" Ms Waldorf states.

"Ugh, she was in Vera's Vogue spread, I don't use Vera's models, none of these are right" Ms Waldorf voices.

"That's because you're looking at the high-fashion book when you should be looking for a new face, you know-someone who looks good in your clothes, someone in this book, like I told you" Laurel demands opening one of the other folders to show Eleanor.

"I hate the American apparel effect" Eleanor grunts, "But they're closer to what you need, they're now, they're hip" Laurel states.

"If this person must represent Waldorf designs, you have to find me someone worthy of the clothes, someone like me, someone like-my daughter" Eleanor states.

Kennedy and Serena both look up hearing the conversation, knowing how much Blair doesn't think her mother appreciates her.

"Well why not her? You want your line to represent the Waldorf lifestyle, who better to represent you as your own family?" Laurel shrugs.

"She was my first dress form" Eleanor states, Kennedy nods at Serena and both of them grab hold of Blair turning her towards the woman.

"She'd love to!" Serena responds, "I would?" Blair says unsure looking at her mother and assistant.

"Eleanor?" Laurel questions, "Yes, it's perfect" Eleanor nods hearing both Van Der Woodsen girls shriek in excitement.

"Eleanor Waldorf, meet the new face of Waldorf for Bendel's" Laurel voices, "Yay!" Serena claps alongside Kennedy who smiles happily.

"Is that a smile we see on B's lips? The spotlight's on her for once and S and K actually helped her get it, I guess miracles can happen"

"It's gonna be so hot, the clothes are gorgeous!" Serena states since the others showed up and they're now laid around in Blair's room discussing the photoshoot that's going to happen soon.

"They're all right" Blair shrugs, "Shut up, they're amazing" Kennedy states looking up from her magazine.

"I'm just doing my mom a favour, the hair-makeup test is tonight" Blair giggles.

"I think this is my best pose" Kati shrugs posing in front of the mirror.

"That's because you can't see what you look like, you're just a hand model and that's it, the right way is this" Isabel suggests standing beside Kati with a pose, "Girls, no, this is how you do it" Blair states.

Kennedy shrugs looking back at the magazine she's flipping through, "No, no, no, you gotta curve your spine forward" Blair states.

"Oh no, you guys are doing it all wrong, look; you're missing the key, look, look-look, you gotta put the hand on the hip and pop, that's how you gotta do it" Serena explains smiling along with the others.

Kennedy looks at them all weirdly before joining them and posing in front of Blair's mirror laughing along with the rest of them.

Serena's phone rings and the blonde stands to the side of the laughing girls talking to Dan on the phone.

Kennedy smiles at the smile on Serena's face before looking back at Blair who's looking at her with raised brows.

LATER THAT DAY SERENA and Kennedy stayed with Blair for the remainder of the day, the three girls arrive at the practice photoshoot together seeing the whole crew waiting for Blair's arrival.

Kennedy smiles looking through the clothes, "Okay, Blair, relax, just chin down, and hold it there, and-okay, you ready?" Terry the photographer states taking a photo of Blair.

"Okay, one more, this time, let's inhale, jump around, loosen up, really loosen up on this one, let's relax into it, give me the biggest pose you've got, that's it, come on, let's think big, big, big" Terry shouts.

"One, two, three, okay, take a break, thank you very much" Terry suggests looking at Blair before turning towards Laurel, "Who chose this girl?" Terry mumbles.

"Eleanor, why?" Laurel wonders, "She's so prim, stiff, like a bookcase, it's unnatural" Terry mutters capturing both Kennedy and Serena's attention.

"Yeah, but she looks stunning in the clothes, don't you agree?" Laurel states.

"To my eye, like a goddess, to this eye, blah, like a statue, this is retail, not an editorial, she needs to let go, have fun, loosen up, how's the client going to like the dress if the model doesn't even like herself?" Terry mutters showing Laurel the photos.

"S, you've gotta do something" Kennedy whispers seeing Serena nod and motion her over towards Blair, "Hey, first of all, you look amazing" Serena says.

"I know" Blair laughs, "Look, can I give you a little tip?" Serena wonders, "How did I know this was coming?" Blair sighs.

"No, look, all you need to do is maybe you could loosen up a little, you know? Shake it up, maybe you could be goofy like when we were 10 and would dance to "Genie in a Bottle" in your mother's clothes" Serena suggests.

"Help me-help me" Blair demands noticing the looks coming from Laurel and Terry, "Um okay, act like a tiger, okay? Come on, rah" Serena suggests roaring like a tiger.

"No, no, you gotta roar!" Serena states seeing Blair not putting enough effort into the poses.

Blair smiles roaring with effort seeing Serena and Kennedy nodding at her with smiles also doing the poses.

"Yes, give me more tiger! Give me more tiger!" Serena exclaims helping Blair pose and loosen up with the photos being taken.

Serena's phone chimes in the corner of the room, "What are you doing?" Blair asks suddenly, "Oh, damn, I have to meet Dan" Serena explains.

"No, you stay here, I need you, I cannot disappoint my mother" Blair states, Kennedy excuses herself quickly.

Eventually everyone separates and leaves the photoshoot ready for tomorrow's big day.

Unaware of the changes being made with the model and the lies being told to both of them.

KENNEDY WALKS ONTO THE rooftop seeing Blair looking around confused and with the look of betrayal on her face, "You've got to be kidding me?" Blair mutters looking at Kennedy.

"I didn't know, I'm sorry" Kennedy explains holding her hands up in a surrender, "Fantastic! One, two, three" Terry states flashing a few more photos of Serena being the model now.

"Oh, there she is, Blair, come on quick, what took you so long?" Serena wonders looking at Kennedy seeing the look of anger.

Blair turns around with a scoff with Kennedy beside her, "Kennedy, Blair, Kennedy! Blair, wait, where are you guys going? Kennedy, Blair, wait, why are you both so angry?" Serena shouts.

"Why am I mad? You mean why I aren't I furious? I cannot believe how I have thought for a second that this would be different this time" Blair shouts letting go of Kennedy's hand.

"You thought what would be different?" Serena asks genuinely sounding confused looking at her twin sister, "You couldn't deal with the spotlight shining on me for once, could you?" Blair snarls.

"What are you talking about? I was told that we were doing this together, what did you not get my message?" Serena wonders.

"What about this morning, then? When you glanced at the call sheet, did you see my name on it? When I wasn't in hair and makeup, didn't that seem strange? When the dressing had only your name, you think they just forgot?" Blair shouts.

"I was told that you were running late and they asked me to do some test shots first, Blair, they told me you wanted me here alongside Kennedy" Serena states looking at Kennedy seeing her nodding believing her.

"And you believed them?" Blair shrugs, "Look Blair, K and I encouraged to do this, why I would try to steal what K and I pushed you to do?" Serena questions.

"Because you both take everything from me! Nate, my mom-" Blair shouts, Kennedy rolls her eyes with this situation again about Nate.

"Blair!" Serena states annoyed, "Both of you can't even help it, it's who the both of you are, I just thought that this time, it would be different, I should have known that I was wrong" Blair states tearfully seeing Dan hiding around the corner and scoffing at him.

"Great" Blair snarls rushing off away from the two twins and the male.

Kennedy inhales and sniffles knowing she'll never get out of being that best friend that apparently takes everything away from Blair, so does Serena who looks at Dan.

"Spotted: Lonely Boys's rude awakening, Upper East Side queens aren't born at the top, they climb their way up in heels, no matter who they have to tread on to do it"

Kennedy rushes off after Blair knowing Serena is going up the rooftop to change and get out of there after being lied too, "I'm sorry" Blair says spotting the brunette sitting beside her.

"Don't apologise B, I'm sorry you feel like S and I take things from you, I don't mean to" Kennedy explains softly handing Blair a bottle of water she took from the rooftop.

"I know, I can't keep using that against you either K, it just hurts knowing my boyfriend likes someone else" Blair mumbles feeling hurt.

"B, Nate loves you" Kennedy states looking at the emotional Blair who leans her head against Kennedy's shoulder before spotting Dan walking towards them.

"Serena send you here to talk to me?" Blair wonders, "No, believe it or not, I actually came here myself" Dan responds looking at the two girls.

"Normally I wouldn't be so this close to you without a tetanus shot" Blair states, "B, be nice" Kennedy mumbles looking up from the ground seeing Dan sigh and sit down in front of them.

"My, uh-my mom kind of left us a couple months ago, only to my dad and sister don't see that because she told us she had to go away for the summer to pursue her dream of being an artist, but it's not summer anymore and she's still there, and it's all she seems to care about right now, every time I go see her, I tell myself: 'this time, I will tell her what I think', this time I'm gonna look her in the eye and say 'you either come home or leave for good', and so there I was, just the other day I was sitting across the table from her, looking her straight in the eye, and I didn't say nothing" Dan explains seeing Kennedy and Blair listening to him quietly.

"Why not?" Blair wonders, "Uh-I don't know but I wish I had, because even if it didn't change anything, she'd know how I felt" Dan states seeing Kennedy nod softly at him.

HEARING HER PHONE RINGING beside them in her handbag, Kennedy frowns seeing Chuck's contact on the screen.

"Chuck?" Kennedy answers the phone.

"Kennedy! Thank god you answered, Nate's in trouble and I need your help" Chuck's voice sounds rough.

"Wait what?" Kennedy frowns, "Nate's in trouble, where are you right now?" Chuck demands.

"Blair's photoshoot, I'll send you the address" Kennedy states, "Okay thank you" Chuck responds ending the phone call.

Kennedy walks back out towards the photoshoot seeing Blair and Serena, "I gotta go, something came up, good luck B!" Kennedy exclaims seeing Chuck's message stating his downstairs waiting for her.

"Thanks K!" Blair shouts, "See you at home S" Kennedy states rushing down the staircase and getting into Chuck's limousine.

"Have you heard from him?" Kennedy wonders seeing Chuck shaking his head.

"Nope, but I know where he is" Chuck states showing the location on his phone receiving a nod from the brunette female who leans into the seats of the vehicle.

PULLING UP IN FRONT OF the Queen's Hotel where Nate is currently inside getting himself in trouble.

Chuck explained to Kennedy on the drive over that Carter Baizen has tricked Nate into getting involved in a card game and robbed him of a $10,000 watch which pissed Kennedy off to the max.

After paying off the security at the front desk, Kennedy walks into the private room seeing the men starting to get angry and violent towards her best friend about rolling with that crowd and trying to rob Nate of his money.

"Just give them the money, man, money means nothing to you, no one has to get hurt, I'm trying to help you" Carter states not hearing Kennedy and Chuck walking into the room.

"Yeah, you're a real friend" Chuck snarls standing at the door alongside Kennedy who's typing on her phone, "Who let you in here, Bass?" Carter snarls.

"He set me up!" Nate explains looking at his girl and male best friend, "No one forced his hand, your boy lost fair and square" Carter states.

"Did you?" Chuck snarls stepping into the room beside Kennedy now.

"Look man, if you don't give them the money, I'm gonna tell everyone where you live and they can come get it from your daddy, what do you think about that?" Carter smirks seeing Nate trying to get out of the groups arms.

"Look, you've got my watch and my ball, you keep them, take care of these guys" Chuck states seeing Kennedy stepping in now.

"I'd advice you idiots to let go of Nate now otherwise I'll happily call the cops and have you all arrested" Kennedy smirks seeing Carter gulp and the others freeing Nate from their hold immediately seeing the speed dial on Kennedy's phone.

"Now I don't call the cops and we walk out of here" Chuck demands, Carter scoffs before looking at Kennedy once again.

The girl raises her brows and holding her phone in the air showing she's not bluffing about calling the police.

"It's cool, I got it" Carter stutters looking at the men around the room.

Kennedy, Nate and Chuck walk towards the exit, "Yo Ken! Text me" Carter smirks.

"In your dreams fuck-wit" Kennedy mutters walking out of the room in front of Chuck and Nate who glare at Carter.

ARRIVING AT CHUCK'S SUITE, Kennedy sighs happily being handed a glass of water from the Bass himself seeing Nate typing on his laptop.

"I'm gonna have to transfer some money and pray the captain doesn't notice before I find a way to put it back" Nate explains logging into his funding site.

"You don't have to pay me back, I mean, it was worth every cent to see the last of that guy" Chuck smiles seeing Kennedy nodding agreeing with the male.

"No, I want to, I mean it, thanks, you too Kens" Nate states smiling at the brunette who nods before looking at the screen noticing the lack of money in his funding account.

"That can't be right" Nate frowns, "What's up?" Chuck wonders seeing Kennedy standing beside Nate confused.

"It says I'm zeroed out" Nate states shocked.

"Maybe you have the wrong account?" Chuck suggests.

"No, there must be something wrong, I accessed this account last month and it said there was almost $200,000" Nate explains sending a quick message to the person who runs his bank account hearing his phone ringing almost five minutes after the text was sent.

"Hey Tom, thanks for getting back to me so quickly" Nate replies, "The message said it was important" Tom suggests.

"Um-yeah, I was checking my accounts and I came across what I assumed to be an error, and that my trust seems to have a zero balance" Nate responds.

"Oh, I thought you knew, that account was drained weeks ago" Tom explains, "Drained? But by whom?" Nate questions, "Your father, he said he discussed it with you" Tom explains.

Nate looks at Chuck and Kennedy who are watching him confused ending the phone call with Tom, "My father drained my account" Nate explains shocking the two of them.

"Wait what? Why?" Kennedy frowns, "No idea, but I'm gonna find out the cause" Nate states smiling at Kennedy and looking at Chuck pissed off with his father.

KENNEDY GIGGLES SEEING the text message from Serena demanding for Kennedy to meet them in the park for their own photoshoot.

"Alrighty boys, I gotta get going, the girls need me for something, I hope you figure out what's happening Nate" Kennedy smiles kissing Nate's cheek and ruffling Chuck's styled hair.

Before excusing herself from the two best friends unaware of the Archibald's gaze watching her leave.

"Oh, you got it bad" Chuck chuckles before swallowing his shot of whiskey, "I do-I really do" Nate chuckles annoyed with himself.

Kennedy rushes into the national park seeing Blair and Serena waiting for her with huge smiles on their faces.

"Get changed! Quick!" Serena demands pushing a dress into Kennedy's chest seeing the brunette nod and get changed into the dress before giggling and posing with her two best friends happily in front of the statue.

"This just in, K, S and B committing a crime of fashion, who doesn't love a five-finger discount? Especially if one of the fingers is the middle one?

Everyone knows you can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends and in a world ruled by bloodlines and bank accounts, it pays to have a pal"

Kennedy, Blair and Serena all laugh and giggle beside one another running around the cities national park asking strangers to take photos of the three of them for years to come so they can remember the memories of this day.

"As much as a BFF can make you go WTF, there's no denying we'd all be a little less rich without them and Kennedy, Serena and Blair? They do "besties" better than anyone"

Blair, Serena and Kennedy thank the strangers who have taken photos of them before shouting with happiness and walking along the walkway around the cities national park smiling amongst each other.

"No, that's not a tear in my eye, it's just allergies.
