Three
"The people experiencing the most pain tend to be the ones who are always trying to make others smile."

Today marked a special day. What was this special day? The day of the ultrasound.
You walked into the room with the doctor, both nervous and excited at the same time. You wondered if the baby was a girl, just like Mark had wanted.
"How has the pregnancy been going?" The doctor asked as he prepared to perform the ultrasound.
"It's been going pretty good." You said. "I've barely had any symptoms."
"You're quite lucky." He said. "Some women experience quite a few symptoms that are almost unbearable."
"I guess I really am lucky." You said. But you were lying straight through your teeth. You weren't lucky. If you were lucky, Mark would be here with you right now, holding your hand and kissing you on the forehead while he expressed his excitement over finding out the gender of the baby. He would also be planning the baby shower and who would go. Everything would be okay.
But it wasn't.
"Is your husband busy?" The doctor asked right before he began the ultrasound. "Usually women bring their husbands here to experience this amazing moment."
"Yeah. He's busy." You lied. "He was really sad about not be able to make it."
"I bet." He said. He pointed at the screen that showed the baby. "There it is. It looks very healthy. No problems at this time."
"Good." You said, breathing a sigh of relief.
"Would you like to know the gender of the baby?"
"Absolutely."
It felt like years before the doctor finally said, "It's a girl."
You smiled and looked down at your exposed stomach. A girl. Mark had gotten his wish.
If only he was here to hear the news.
"What's the matter?" The doctor asked. "Did you want it to be a boy?"
"No. This is what I wanted." You said. "My husband wanted it to be a girl a lot. I did as well."
"Congratulations." The doctor said as you got up. "I'll see you next month for the next ultrasound."
"You must be pretty happy." You whispered to Mark as you drove home. "It's a girl. You get to have Molly Fischbach."
It felt painful to say that name. Even though you were technically Mrs. Fischbach, it still hurt whenever you were called that.
Suddenly, someone stood in front of your car and waved their arms. You immediately hit the breaks, narrowly missing hitting them.
A familiar guy with blond hair and ice blue eyes stood in front of your car. He smiled and knocked on your window. You rolled down the window and asked him what the hell he was doing standing in the middle of the road like he was just doing.
"I need a ride." He said.
"Where do you need a ride to?" You asked.
"My house." Jesse said. "My friend took my car."
"Fine." You said. "Get in. You're holding up traffic."
He hurried over to the passenger seat as impatient honks continued. Once Jesse was buckled in, you started driving once more.
"Where do you live?" You asked.
"Keep going straight and I'll let you know when to turn." He said.
"Got it." You said.
"Random question." Jesse said after instructing you to take a right turn. "But did you ever receive notes telling you to not trust anyone?"
"How did you know about those?" You asked.
"I went to Cincinnati." He said. "I was a senior when you were a freshman."
"Do you happen to be Jesse Parker?" You asked. You had heard about all the antics that he and his friends had gotten to. And about all of the freshman girls that he managed to swoon. But you didn't really pay attention to it that much. Mostly because you were already in love with someone and couldn't be bothered to start crushing on anyone else.
"The one and only." He said. "But I think that those days are behind me. This is when I want shit to become serious."
"How so?" You asked.
"Well, I wanted to start on my career, take a left straight ahead by the way, get married, and start a family. I'm not sixteen anymore, I realized. I couldn't fuck around like I used to in high school and college. Yeah, I kept up with my schoolwork but I wasn't exactly a goody two-shoes. I was in Detention quite a bit in high school and I calmed down a bit once I got into college but I still pulled off some crazy things. There was this one time where my friends and I egged Anderson's house. Boy, he was so pissed. That was before he put that freshman into a coma and lost his teaching license and went to jail. You remember hearing about that?"
"I was that freshman." You said.
"No way!" He said.
"Way." You said, sighing as you remembered that terrible day.
"You're not still upset about it, are you?" He asked. "Anderson's getting what he deserves."
"No, I'm not upset about it." You said. "Besides, it's not the worst thing that's happened to me."
"I'm not even going to ask what the worst thing was." He said. "One because it will open old wounds and two because I think I already know what it is."
You nodded, tears forming in your eyes.
"Turn into the next driveway." He said. "That's my house."
You did so, admiring the house. It was pretty big, almost the size of a mansion.
"You live here alone?" You asked. "This is a really big house."
"I used to not live alone." He said. He paused before adding, "Long and complicated story. Thanks for the ride."
"No problem." You said.
"Can I see your phone?"
"Why?"
"I want to give you my number."
"Um, okay." You said as you entered in your passcode, went and created a new contact, and handed him your phone.
"Don't worry." He said as he typed away. "I'm not trying to flirt with you or anything. I'm just doing it to be friendly."
"Oh." You said as he handed you your phone back. "Thanks...I guess."
"Text me whenever." He said as he got out of the car. "I'm available most of the time."
You shook your head as you put your phone down and began to drive home.
"I really need to make some friends." You realized as you stepped into the house. You were hungry for lunch but didn't feel like making anything or walking back out to your car in order to drive somewhere and get something. So you just decided to sit on the couch and just stare at your phone until you decided to text Jesse a few moments later.
"Hey." You texted simply.
He responded just a few seconds later.
"Hey."
You didn't really know what to ask so you just asked him what he was doing.
"Catching up on some episodes of this show that I watch that I missed."
"What show is it?"
"'Game Of Thrones'"
"Of course."
"Are you judging me?"
"No."
"I think you are."
"Well, I'm not."
"I was just kidding. What are you doing?"
"Sitting here and realizing that I need friends."
"Well, I'm hosting a board game night at my house tomorrow. Wanna come?"
"What game would we be playing?"
"Cards Against Humanity."
"Sign me up."
"Great. I'll let the others know that you're going to be there."
"They know who I am?"
"(Y/N), you're a former YouTuber. Of course they know who you are."
"I'm not a former YouTuber."
"What do you mean? You stopped making videos. Of course you're a former YouTuber."
"Or did I really stop making videos?"
"What the hell are you even talking about?"
"You'll see in a bit."
"Okay...."
You went on your phone's camera and held it out so that you could be seen. You pressed the record button with your thumb.
"Hi guys! (YT/UN) here and I'm here to tell you that I'm going back to making videos....for good."
