Chapter 1 : Introduction

Kimberly's Pov

I'm a 17-year-old girl who has blonde hair and boring old brown eyes.

It's senior year and I switched schools. Amazing.

The new school I was going to was called Crompton Mills. It was in a little place where everyone knew each other. So it was "exciting" when a new person came. There were a few other high schools around, but I went here because it was within walking distance. Lame, I know.

As I entered the school, people stared at me. It was kinda weird. I went straight to the headmaster's office to pick up my schedule and get a mini tour from another senior. When I got there, I slowly knocked on the door.

"Come in!" A loud but gentle voice rose from behind the wooden door. At the moment I opened the door, a rush of fear and nervousness ran through my body. What if this is as bad as my old school? What if it's worse? I shook my head clear of negative thoughts and plastered a fake smile on my face. When I was inside the headmaster's door, a man who looked in around his late 30's, early 40's,  rose up from the swirly chair. I really wanted to sit in that chair. He had brown hair that had started to go grey and very friendly big, brown eyes.

The headmaster walked to me and stuck out his hand for me to shake. I returned the gesture. He indicated to a series of 3 chairs which was already taken by one very smiley person. He had long blonde hair and very bright brown, almost grey eyes.  I sat on the chair next to him.

"You must be Kimberly!" The headmaster exclaimed a bit to joyously.

"That's a pretty name!" The guy next to me said.

"And you must be Mr Westbrook," I replied. "And thank you,"I said turning my head slightly to the smiley guy.

"Oh introductions," the headmaster said and clapped his hands. What. Clapped his hands. Wow. We learn new things every day.

"Carter, Kimberly. Kimberly, Carter. He will be your tour guide thing for the first period."

"Wonderful!" I exclaimed.

I stuck out my hand for a handshake but instead, I got a bone-crushing hug.

"Is it just me or is everybody here way too happy for the first day of school," I muttered under my breath, still in the bone-crushing hug.

"Lol, you better get used to this." He said into my hair.

Did a boy as old as 17/18 really just say "lol" in a sentence. Wow. I can't wait for the tour.
