Chapter 17
Haruhi and I walked back to the house as we entered, seeing Moons sitting on the couch watching tv. I followed my brother into the house as I shut the door. I looked at Haruhi as he cracked a smile. "Don't leave," he said as I huffed. "Go get Yuzuki," I said as I walked more into the room. Haruhi cracked the biggest smile as he started to walk down the hall. "I'll be back," he said, happily. I shook my head at the comment. Momo turned to me. "How was your walk?" he asked, as I turned to him. "The walk was great. Your neighbor was really nice," I said, as he got cheerful. "Oh, you met Mrs.Cassidy?" he asked as I nodded. "Yeah, she's such a sweet woman. You guys also have a nice neighborhood," I said, as I looked at the hallway again. I crossed my arms as I huffed. Moons studied me silently. "Did you and Haruhi get into a fight?" Kazuna asked as I shook my head. "No. The walk was perfect and we talked about a lot," I said as looked down the hall to where my brother's room was. I studied the hallway in silence. "Um Iris?" Momo asked as I looked at him. "You ok?" he asked, as I looked at the hallway again. I watched as Haruhi walked out of the room with a blanket under his arm. "They're really going to do it," I said, with a huff. Moons looked at me curiously. "Do what?" Kazuna asked as my brother's walked into the room.
"Ok, where are we doing this?" I asked, as Yukuzki got in behind me. They swatted the blanket around me like when they were little. I stayed still, seeing how I told them they could. I looked over to Moons as they watched with wide eyes. I turned to my brothers, as they finished and set me on the couch. I looked up at Haruhi, feeling the blanket comfortable around me. "Was this fun?" I asked, as he cracked a smile. "Still can't escape, can you?" he asked, as I tried to. "I can't. Good job," I said, as I tried to get comfortable. The twins cracked a big smile, proud of their team work. I turned to Moons, who was studying me in shock. "What?" I asked, as the room became silent, then Kazuna was the one that spoke. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" he asked, as if he was going to start panicking. "The baby swaddle," my twin brothers said together. I looked back at Moons as they just watched me. Some in shock, others in confusion. Momo studied me with a disturbed expression on his face. "Iris, can you move?" he asked, as I shook myself. "A little. It's tight, but it won't do anything to me," I said, as the air went silent. Moons turned to me, then to the boys and finally themselves.
Kazuna stood up first. "Momo, go get another one," he said as he walked over to me. He carefully lifted me to my feet as he started to unwrap the blanket that my brothers trapped me in. Haruhi walked over to the front of me and got ready to catch me if I fell. "You do know that I was going to free her soon," he said, as Kazuna nodded. "I know. But we're going to need it in a minute," he explained, as he started to free me from the blanket. I stepped out of the blanket and fell onto the couch behind me. "Are you alright, Iris?" Kazuna asked as I nodded. "I'm fine. It wasn't tight and I wasn't going to be in it for long," I explained. Kazuna walked towards the twins as Momo came in with another blanket. The other members of Moons got up to join. I got comfortable on the couch as I watched Moons surround the twins. Next thing I knew, Moons was putting Haruhi and Yuzuki in a baby swaddle of their own. I covered my mouth to hide the fact that I wanted to burst out laughing. I sat there chuckling to myself as a phone started to ring. I looked next to me at the caller to see that it was Tsubasa.
"Iris, can you get that?"Haruhi asked as I looked at the phone again. I picked it up as I answered it. "Hello?" I asked. "Hey Haruhi, I was just call... Iris?" she asked, as if she didn't realize that I was going to answer it. I chuckled as I looked at the boys. "Yeah, it's me. What's up?" I asked as the phone went dead. "Where's Haruhi," Tsubasa finally asked. I looked at the group of boys. I studied them for a few minutes. "Um, he's a little busy," I said, hoping that I didn't have to explain it. Tsubasa huffed. "Are the boys bothering you? I told Kazuna to keep everyone," she said as I cut her off. "Everything's fine. We're all just chilling in the living room," I said, trying not to burst into laughter again. The phone went silent again. "Iris? Should I come home? I know Thrives has a lot today, but if I need to," she said, as I cut her off. "No, you need to be with them. I can handle the boys here," I said, as Kitakore walked in and saw the scene. The pair's jaw dropped. I bursted out in an uncontrollable laughter and almost dropped my phone. "Iris? Iris, what's going on over there?" Tsubasa asked as I tried to control myself. "Oh nothing. The boys are just playing around," I explained.
"What in the world are you doing?" Ryuji asked as Kazuna turned to them. "Payback," he yelled in excitement. I shook my head as I sighed. "Iris? I think I need to stop at the house," Tsubasa said, as I brought the phone to my ear again. "We're just joking around. It's what my brother's and I do all the time. Moons just wanted to join in," I explained. A heavy breath was heard over the phone. "Iris, if the boys get hurt," she started as I huffed. "It's not that dangerous. Plus, we told you the other night we do it," I said, as a voice cut me off. "Done," Kazuna said, as I looked up and saw the scene. I chuckled. "Good job Moons," I said, as a panicked Tsubasa cut me off. "I'm coming home for lunch," she said, as I put the phone up to my ear again. "Tsubasa, we're fine. You don't have to worry about anyone," I explained. I leaned my head back as Tsubasa went back to panicking.
Mikado sat next to me as he held out his hand. I handed him the phone as I mouthed an apology. He waved as he pressed the phone to his ear. "Mikado speaking," he said, as the air went silent. I looked at the boys as they studied me in confusion. "What's going on?" Haruhi asked as I looked at him. "Tsubasa thinks we're doing something dangerous," I explained. I turned to Mikado as he nodded. "We can take a picture if you like," he explained as Ryuji huffed. "She's freaking out again," he said, as he joined me on the couch. I turned to him. "Are we going to get in trouble," I asked, as he shook his head. "No. She just probably forgot that this is your way of playing around," he explained. I looked back at the scene as I watched Mikado take a picture of the boys. He pressed the phone up to his ear again. "I just sent what we done," he said, as he went back to his conversation. I huffed as I slouched on the couch again. Haruhi turned to Moons. "You should let us out now," he said, as Kazuna nodded and started to free the boys. I looked at Mikado as he nodded. "Alright, you just focus on work. Everything's fine. See you later," he said as he hung up and put the phone on the table.
"Thank you for handling her," I said, as Mikado nodded. "You're welcome. She gets that way sometimes," he explained. I turned to him. "We're not in trouble, are we?" I asked, as Mikado shook his head. "No, she just got confused. That's all," he explained. I sighed as I settled myself down. Yuzuki plopped down next to me as he huffed. "Well, that was fun," he said, as I chuckled. "Yeah. It's fun messing your baby sister," I teased. Yuzuki turned to me as he studied me. "We can do it again," he said, as I shot him a worried look. "No, I'm good," I said, as he chuckled. Ryuuji watched us quietly. "Remind me, that used to be a punishment?" he asked, as Haruhi plopped down next to Yuzuki. "Yep. Mom did it to us all the time, until we got older," he explained. "What did your dad do when your mom did the swaddling?" Momo asked as he leaned up against the wall. I shook my head. "Nothing," I said, as Haruhi cut me off. "You wanted mom's punishment. Our dad got worse. I don't want to talk about it," he said as I huffed. "We're not going there," I reminded him.
Yuzuki turned to Haruhi. "Remember the shirt?" he asked. Haruhi tilted his head back. "Ok, that was a fun punishment," he said, as I turned to him. "Why don't I remember that?" I asked, as Yuzuki turned to me. "Mom never did it on you. Plus, you were too small when she was doing it," he explained. "It was more of a twin thing," Haruhi finished. I nodded in understanding. "That's why," I said, as I leaned my head back. "Explain the shirt," Kazuna said as I turned to my brothers, seeing that I knew nothing about it. Yuzuki shook his head. "Nothing to it. Our mom put a giant shirt over Haruhi and I. We had to work together to do things until our mom pulled it off." Haruhi sighed. "It took hours sometimes," he pointed out. Yuzuki chuckled. "When mom wasn't looking, we used to pull away so the shirt stretched out," he said, as I tilted my head down. "Why can I picture that?" I said, as Yuzuki chucked. "Cause it's us," he said, as I looked up. "Yeah, that's about right," I replied.
I took a deep breath as I slouched on the couch. "We had a lot of fun back then," I said, thinking my thoughts out loud. Yuzuki sighed. "It was. We're also going to have a lot of fun with B-Project too. Once the work is done," he said, as I turned to him. "You do know I need to look for a job. I'll probably start that soon," I said, as Haruhi huffed. "And she's at it again." I turned to my brother. "It's called the way of life," I said, as Haruhi looked at me. "Yeah, but you need to get a life at home going first," he explained. I huffed. "I moved in and relaxed. Now it's job time," I said, as Haruhi sighed. "But you haven't been here for that long. Plus, you got to find the job first and that might take a while," he said, as I looked at him. "I know, that's why I got to look for it first," I replied. Yuzuki turned to us. "Don't make me get a shirt," he said. Haruhi and I both looked at Yuzuki and the three of us started to laugh.
I sighed. "It does feel great to be back in a house though," I said, feeling eyes on me. I turned to the twins. "No comment," I said, which didn't stop them. Haruhi sighed. "Again, one phone call," he said, as I huffed. "Could've avoided the situation. Got it," I said, as I turned to him. He looked at me in aggravation. I got up from my seat. "Love you," I said, as I ran out of the room, hoping that he wasn't following me.
