The Epic Preperations and the First Encounter

"Stop, you can't do that it's just too funny." Danyelle was currently rolling around on the ground laughing at me. I was in a dress, walking around the store modeling the thing. I should explain, as we were going through the stores Danyelle still a little detached. I believe that she was still thinking about the fight with Sues, so I decided to cheer her up by putting on the ugliest dress in the store. The dress itself was a mix between something a fairy and a ballerina would wear but the biggest problem with it was that something threw up a hot pink and blue mess all over it. "Danyelle I wasn't joking I really think this is the perfect dress for me."

"Ha, that thing looks ha so funny on you. You can't wear that in public." Danyelle was now trying desperately to stifle her laughter with her hands.

The things I do for my friends…Friend.

I walked into the one of the dressing rooms and caught a glimpse of my reflection,

Wow! Remind me to never look in the mirror again.

"Well, I think I might just have to buy this dress for Halloween."

After three hours of shopping to with no luck, we decided to go into this new store called Black and Tight to look for something suitable. As we walked into the store I heard Danyelle yelp in excitement, as she started running up and down ales before vanishing from my view. I directed my eyes to an area I thought she might be when I caught sight of the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. It wasn't really shown off but just stuffed off in a far away corner on a rack. It was a tight fitted, sparkling dark blue (maybe black) dress, and it had a slit up the side like one of the dresses you see in old movies. I grabbed the dress and rushed off to go show Danyelle. After a very difficult search I finally found her at the rear end of the store going through all the shoes as if she was on a mission.

"Boy, what came over you? I leave you alone for five minutes and you go off and demolish half the store."

She tossed a pair of shoes at me and dragged out another pair.

"I'm sorry I saw this dress and got inspired." Danyelle replied sheepishly holding up a seemingly homely black and red dress. She yelped again and reached for a pair of boots that almost looked like riding boots from the 1900's. When she picked them up I saw that in her search for her outfit she had destroyed more than just half the store.

"Crap Dee when you get inspired it's scary." I said indicating the mess.

"No time for apologies I have to go and try this stuff on." As she was gathering her belonging I noticed she not only had picked out shoes and a dress but also jewelry and hair accessories.

Well, I better get going before Danyelle finishes up.

"What's that?" asked this random Goth girl, pointing one of her fingers towards my dress.

"Oh this," I lifted it up "is my dress. Do you like it?"

She dropped her purse and hurdled herself at me.

"Come on I …just…want ...to see it." She whined.

"Get your own dress-

"No! I want this one-

Suddenly she was hit in the head by an on-coming purse and fell to the floor.

Attack of the flying purses dunk and cover!

That's when I saw Danyelle coming out of the dressing room looking fantastic in a dress that had transformed on her entire body. I could see now that it had dark red ribbons coming out of the waist line that went to her mid shin along with the rest of the black netting mesh that made up the lower half of the gown. The top was spaghetti strapped had a v cut top. It was beautiful she looked like a gothic fairy princess, but in a good way.

"Hey Vanessa, grab my purse will yeah? It's time to go." She walked towards the cash register and jumped onto the scanner.

Okay, shopping Danyelle and normal Danyelle are two completely different people.

You can say that again.

The Crazy Girl on the floor started to stir, so I quickly paid for the dress and got the heck out of there.

"So are you going to get ready for the dance at my house?" I asked Danyelle as we were leaving the mall. "My parents aren't home so they wouldn't care anyway."

I hope .

"Actually I need to go home, but you can get ready at my place if you like." She suggested.

"Are you sure? I mean I have everything we'll ever need at my place.” I glanced at my back seats that were hidden under Danyelle’s mountains of bags. “You know, just in case you forgot to buy something."

She cocked her eyebrow and followed my gaze, then laughed. "No, I'd love to but I really can't. You see I have to make sure my brother Vic actually

goes to the dance. I won a bet with him a little while ago. The loser had to do one thing the winner said no matter what it was; I told him that he has to come to the next school dance. Now I need to make sure he actually goes otherwise I'm out on my investment."

I finally know her brother’s name!

We were half way to Danyelle's house when she turned on the radio; Misery Business by Paramore was playing. She nudged my side and started to sing along with the song, eventually we arrived at Danyelle's house and we were singing at the top of our lungs, even when the music had stopped playing. We were actually pretty bad at singing. Both of us were way off pitch and beat with the song. The only thing we did right was probably the words and only when we would stop laughing at each other’s voices. We finished our song and Danyelle jumped out of the car. She was on her porch before she turned back around.

"Hey if you don't hurry it up, you're going to be late for the dance." She shouted

"Not in this life time." I laughed and threw my car in reverse. I had just started backing up when I a sudden chill rolled up my spine. I looked at the widow where the figure had stood last night and sure enough there it was again. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that shadow. Was he waiting for Danyelle to come home or looking to see who was bringing her? I shook the feeling once I was on the road. I gunned the gas until I was going at least 80 on a 20 mph road. Thank the lord there weren't any other cars on the road at the moment or else… well I would be in big trouble. I franticly looked down at the dash board just because I was being really paranoid. It was already 6:05 and the dance started at 6:30. I tried to calm my nerves by telling myself that it was plenty of time. I mean all I had to do was get to my house, get ready, and get to the dance. That seemed simple enough.

As soon as I pulled into my driveway however I ran as fast as possible. I grabbed my dress and shoes out of the car and used quick step to get into my room. I changed and ran for my purse. I put on mascara, eye liner, eye shadow and sprayed my hair into a cute due on the top of my head, where it curled quit nicely. I put on a small necklace and a pair of studs. I threw on my new shoes and as I ran towards my bedroom door I took a quick look at myself in the mirror.

If looks could kill,

Again I used quick step but this time I took a bigger leap to the front door where I froze. My hand was only a couple of inches away from the door knob but something upsetting my stomach. The hairs on the back of my neck stood tall and goose bumps sprouted on my arms and legs. I took a deep sniff of the air around to confirm what my other senses were trying to tell me. Both brought me to the same conclusion. Someone was in my house.

My brain went into shock. What was I suppose to do? I couldn't use my vampire powers, because what if it was a human. I couldn’t kill him but there was no way in hell that I was going to go easy on him. I looked down at my hands, I smiled at the fact that they were long.

I felt the air behind me shift. I dropped my purse as I spun around with my fingers fully extended aiming for the person's neck when that certain person grabbed my hand and lightly pushed his lips against it.

"Where do you think you’re going My Love?" said a deep voice.

No! It can’t be!

His head rose dramatically slow from my hand and I saw his face. Everything about this man made my body screamed with terror, I could feel my fangs extend in defense. He had sandy blonde hair, skin sickly pale even for a vampire, and eyes that were darker than black. His choice of clothing wasn’t out of the ordinary either, black dress pants paired with a dress shirt and silk tie. He looked like a normal guy just getting out of a business meeting or something. God was that a joke.

"Good evening my Lord." I said in an emotionless tone while I pushed my fangs back. I then bowed slightly and kept my gaze low so that I would not disrespect him in anyway.

A strange laugh escaped his thin lips.

"I've told you before love to call me by my name, without the title."

Blah, blah, blah, go fall off a cliff.

Or I can push you.

"Of course sire, yet I have also informed you that I would prefer you call me by my first name as well."

I really didn’t care to much for this ‘love’ shit

"Yes, you have my dear, but I find this name more suiting for you." He said with a smile "If you'd be so kind as to address me from now on as my given name, I'd be very pleased."

"Of course Winden." I said flatly.

"Thank you my dear, now where are your lovely parents?"

I tried really hard to keep my facial expression emotionless but my eyebrow twitched. Winden grimaced expression told me that he was not pleased with the slight mistake.

"Mama is off flying with her friends, and Papa is at the Moron's mansion three doors down. You can't miss their house." I informed him. I could feel my pulse racing through my body. What did he want with the parents? Somehow I must have betrayed what I was thinking.

"Don't worry my sweet they are not in any danger, I just have very important business with them.” He picked up my purse and handed it to me, then escorted me over to the door. "Oh my dear, don't let any humans touch you at your little dance. It would destroy your beautiful aroma." He walked out the door and swung it shut, leaving me shaking and confused.

I didn't tell him I was going to a human dance.

My nerves were still buzzing when I flung the door open and ran to my car. I tossed my purse over the passenger’s seat with the satisfaction that I was alone again. I pulled my phone off of the dash and tried calling my parents to give them a little warning about Winden. I didn’t even get put through to voicemail meaning that they changed their numbers again without telling me. I felt bad for leaving them unprepared like this but it wasn’t my fault that they had changed their numbers, and I sure as hell wasn’t about to face Winden again. With it all being completely out of my hands I jammed the keys into the ignition and started the car. The dash board read 6:45. Frustrated for already being late, I backed the car out of the drive way and sped to the dance.

Danyelle must be there all alone.

She has her brother with her.

If she even got him to GO!

Good point. Yeah, plus Trevor might be there.

….Shit!

Knowing he might be there made me push down on the gas petal. It took me only a few minutes to get to the dance after that.

Speeding as fast asI was that is.
