Chapter 21 - "Expect the unexpected..."

Chapter 21 - "Expect the unexpected..."

Johns PoV

I looked straight at her, and how peaceful she was sleeping. She was laying, but had her head on my chest while I played with a strand of her hair.

I wasn't sure if anyone had told her. I wasn't even sure how many weeks she was gone. Or if she had shown any symptoms at all.

She stirred after a while and looked up smiling. 'You look a bit tense' she said. I continued stroking her hair.

'Do you remember what happened?' I asked her. 'We were hit by a car?' She asked scared.

'Yeah' I said.

'John' she said after a few silent moments between us. 'They think I'm pregnant' she said in an almost whisper.

'I know' I said back.

She looked at me with pleading but scared eyes.

'I know' I said and took her hands in mine.

'What do we do?' She asked letting a few tears escape. 'That's up to you'

'I don't even know for sure yet' She said but a nurse had already briefed me. 'Clara they ran a scan yesterday. You are most definitely pregnant' I said and slipped her a piece of paper.

'9 weeks' I said and her eyes literally widened. 'How is that even possible?' She gasped.

'I don't know... Because 9 weeks ago would have been when we were at Comic Con... And we only had - You know - there one night' I pointed out.

'Holy shit this is not good' she cried.

'We'll deal with this Clara' I said and she snapped her head up.

'Deal with it? What does that mean? I'm having this baby whether you like it or not. There's no other option, I won't rid of a human being. If you don't want to be involved because your life is too important then that's fine because I don't need you or your money. But I'm having this baby no matter wha--' I cut her up.

The speech was nice and she made a good point but that wasn't at all what I meant.

I pulled back and looked at her. She was crying and I had made her lip a lot worse. 'Oops' I said wiping her blood off my mouth.

'Oops? You've just made it worse' she cried. 'Clara calm down: I didn't mean it like that. Of course you can have the baby, and if you think for 10 seconds that I won't be there for you and our child then your on drugs'

'Technically I am'

'Not helping'

'I know'

'Look. Your amazing and a stubborn little thing, but I will be there every step of the way and will do everything in my power to make sure that, that child has everything and as much of a regular life that I can give it' I said rather proud of my speech.

I had to make sure that she understood that.

'So do we announce it?'

'No. Not until we have too... Until then, we act like everything is normal. We say nothing. Only tell people we have too, and keep off social media'

'Surely well have to do a public announcement at some point?'

'Yes. But not yet. Anyway... I have a question' I said to her.

She looked frightened and scared. 'Don't worry this is a good one. I've been invited to a film premiere on Friday night. I've been getting loads of gifts from companies from the accident so we're going to leister square on Friday night' I said.

'But I haven't been discharged?'

'You will have been by then'

Clara's PoV

I wasn't really at all sure how long I had been in hospital. No one was really giving me many answers.

All I knew was that I am pregnant with Johns child and that my whole life is literally going to change forever... And not all for the good.

'We'll take you home as soon as your discharged' my Dad said handing me a bottle of water. I'm sort of without my right arm at the moment.

'Dad I'm staying here, with John. I have a job. I told you that I'm going to be doing a play... Well that's if it's possible with a broken arm... And when I'm pregnant' I mumbled.

'Clara you don't just have a broken arm... You've broken three bones and had to have two of them reset. You can't stay here you need to come home.
Not just that your on a lot of medication to handle that bleed'

'Dad. I know your only trying to help... But I'm staying here. I don't get to see him very often as it is, so I'm staying' I said stubbornly as John hobbled in.

'Plus things have got a whole lot more complicated' I muttered.

John had already said he'd do whatever I asked him. We're already looking for a flat. Not that I can afford a flat for myself but I sure as well will try.

'Morning' he smiled approaching the bed. I was nearly ready to go, all dressed and packed.

'Ready to go? The car is waiting round the back for us' he John said as my Dad helped me out of bed. 'The press found you then? I've seen all the news' I admitted.

'Yeah. Twitters been going crazy' he said and I could see he was running through his head or current situation. 'Don't over think it' he said.

'You just can't make a cast look attractive. At what point does this cast go with a dress' I said holding my arm up to show him as I had my head hunched over the toilet.

'Hey it's not that bad' he comforted rubbing my back as he stood on one leg behind me. At least he had a boot cast on, so showering for him was a lot easier than for me.

I groaned a lot as I leant away from the toilet and tried to stand. Not so easy with one arm.

The morning sickness had really started since leaving the hospital. In fact only in the last few days had it picked up. Try vomiting when you've got three broken ribs.

It doesn't help.

'No matter what you'll look beautiful so it won't matter anyway' he said and I groaned. His opinion is biased... He has to say that.

'You look fine. I promise' he assured me as I had tried my best to cover up the bruising, and cuts but there is nothing I can do about the cast, and a blue sling is not very flattering.

Thankfully however to this event, Lilly decided to drive us there because she was the only one that wasn't injured that much.

'Okay, we'll see you later' Lilly said as she turned to me. 'Are you sure about this Clara?' She asked.

'Positive' I said still feeling sick, but swallowed it away and waited for him to climb out.

He leant against the car and someone handed him his crutches, to which I climbed out and we wandered towards the red carpet.

We stopped for a few pictures and he wrapped his arm around my waist smiling for the camera as if this accident had never happened.

'Come on' he whispered as we headed up the red carpet, which in itself was an amazing thing. How many 18 year old girls in the world can say they've been to a movie premiere and walked the red carpet.

'How you feeling John?' Someone asked him and I recognised them from the BBC. 'Tip top shape' he said looking down motioning to his leg.

'How is this going to complicate filming?'

'It shouldn't do. We've already got out air dates for next year, so no complications' he said and wrapped his right arm around my neck.

'And your okay as well?' She asked looking over at me. 'Yeah. Just a broken arm to keep me going' I said.
