Chapter 14 - "New York..."

Chapter 14 - "New York..."

Jenna's PoV

'Do you have to go to New York?' I complained pouting.

'Unfortunately it comes with the job' he laughed and smiled, kissing my forehead.

Jane had driven him to the airport with me. Why wasn't I going with him? Well my last exam is in two days so I've got to stay in London sadly.

'I'll only be gone for three days and then we're going to comic con. I can't wait for you to come to comic con with me. You can sit in the audience and it will be great' he said excited.

'Have fun' I suppose. I said leaning up to kiss him.

'Ugh. Save it for later love birds... We've got a plane to catch' Karen said to him and pulled him away. 'Love you' he shouted across the airport.

'Love you too' I shouted back and went back with Jane sadly.

Matt's PoV

The screening was this afternoon, the day after we landed in New York and we had an interview with Good Morning America early that morning.

'Good Morning, welcoming our latest guests Matt Smith the New Doctor and Karen Gillan who plays latest companion Amy Pond. So nice to see you both'

'It's really exciting to be here in New York actually' I commented. 'It's great to have you here. So we have a few general questions about the new Season' she said to us.

'Shoot' Karen said crossing her legs.

'What is the difference between this Doctor and the previous incarnation of Doctor?' She asked me in her strong New York accent.

'He's a bumbling idiot who doesn't really know how to behave' I smirked.

'He's kind of like a 7 year old, trapped in the body of a 17 year old, who's really 1000 years old' Karen joked.

'That's right because your actually 17 correct?' She asked. 'No. 18 now. Back in January'

'So what's Amy Pond like... Is she different to other companions?'

'I think all companions are different, especially Pond because Karen makes her indifferent. The whole story line of Amy which you'll find it is a beautiful one and one I've loved getting to watch. You'll find out in episode one, be the Doctor had a very special connection to Amy that he doesn't have in any of his other companions'

'And do you think this is a good thing?'

'Yeah.' Karen answered. 'She's not your typical jump in the time machine and off you go... There's far more of a story line to her before she gets there' Kaz said explaining it well.

'And for viewers out there who will watch tonight... How would you describe episode 1?'

'Without spoilers?' I asked making it an impossible task now.

'Without spoilers yeah'

'Okay well I would say that it's the beginning of a new friendship while he is trying to find himself and who he wants to be'

'Yeah. You'll see many different sides of his doctor in just episode 1 which is good because it gives people a chance to judge home straight away'

'Well good luck. I mean it was very well received in Britain and I'm sure it will do just as well over here'

'Wow is that interview over already?' I said to Moffat as we left there and headed towards BBC America.

'See it's amazing how fast time flys' he said smirking.

'Did you sign the contract Karen?' I asked her as we hoped in the taxi. 'Yeah. Series 6 but I haven't signed any further than that. If just depends where the character goes' she said.

'Well I signed for Series 6 as well, but not any more.'

'Why. Your so young? You could be the Doctor for 5 years yet'

'I know but I want to go into film eventually, that's the industry I want to set up' I admitted.

'Another Interview done and dusted' I said on the phone. 'It's funny the same questions keep coming up' I complained.

'Like?' Jenna asked.

'Well all about Doctor who'

'Well obviously you moron' she said probably smirking.

'Listen I need to speak to you' she said and I was listening. 'Go ahead' I encouraged.

'You said maybe I should go into acting?' She said.

'Yeah. Why?'

'Well I hope you don't mind but I spoke to your agent...'

'Okay'

'And she set me an audition up at a couple of theatre companies in London. Just to get some audition experience and some acting experience' she said.

'That's amazing Jenna. See I told you we would work out a plan for you' I said to her and I know she liked have been smiling at the other end of the phone.

'I've got to go. Got this bloody premiere and Q&A. You know someone said that people have been queuing for this for over 72 hours. I can't believe how popular it is'

- - -

'Wow that's a lot of people' Kaz said as we pulled up.

There's so much enthusiasm from these guys as we pulled up and both Kaz and I signed some autographs and took some pics then headed on in.

'Evening' someone British from Good morning Britain said. 'Oh my god. My Aunt will go mad if she finds out I'm on this programme she loves it' I said.

It was brilliant watching all the fans settling into the room, and it filled up really quickly. And you could hear the eruption of cheers come directly from the audience.

'Kissogram?'

'Yes, a kissogram. Work through it.'

'Why'd you pretend to be a policewoman?' I asked and I still can't take it when I watch some of the beginning stuff that has some terrible acting.

'You broke into my house. It was this or a French maid. What's going on? Tell me. Tell me!'

'An alien convict is hiding in your spare room disguised as a man and a dog, and some other aliens are about to incinerate your house. Any questions?'

'Yes'

Me too. No, no, no, no! Don't do that, not now! It's still rebuilding. Not letting us in.' I said stubbornly punching and kicking the Tardis. I still remember how much that hurt when we filmed it.

'Prisoner Zero will vacate the human residence or the human residence will be incinerated.'

'Come on.'

'No, wait, hang on. Wait, wait, wait, wait. The shed. I destroyed that shed last time I was here. Smashed it to pieces.' I think I licked that shed in one take.

'So there's a new one. Let's go.' Kaz Said putting on a great performance.

'Yeah, but the new one's got old. It's ten years old at least. Twelve years. I'm not six months late, I'm twelve years late.'

'He's coming.'

'You said six months. Why did you say six months?'

'We've got to go.'

'This matters. This is important. Why did you say six months?'

'WHY DID YOU SAY FIVE MINUTES?'!

'What?'

'Come on'

'What?'

'Prisoner Zero will vacate the human residence or the human residence will be incinerated'

There were a number of cheers as we came on the stage, even when Moffat came on stage he was appreciated.

'What is it that you love about this companionship?'

'Well I love the fact that she's not ordinary. He meets her as a little girl:.. And like I say, most 8 year old girls wouldn't talk to strange men... But this one does'

'Yeah. I like the fact that she meets him as a child, because it makes the relationship when he comes back 12 years later far more moving' Kaz added.

The Americans and there questions are a little more bold than the Brits. They just are more upfront about things. It can be a good thing... And a bad thing.

'Did you finish school before landing this role? Because your the youngest doctor ever?' One man asked.

'I finished my A levels last week, which in the UK is what you do after you've finished school at 16. And I've been studying them whilst filming... So I'll probably fail them all' I laughed.

'My questions for Karen? Why did you audition?'

'Well my agent suggested it, and I watched it before and decided if there reinventing it it might be a laugh, not thinking in a million years if get the part'

'Hi there' I said as a girl who looked about 15 stood up. 'Hi. My questions for all of you. Are you in a relationship?'

Oh crap. Deal with this one carefully Matt.

'Well I'm incredibly much older than these two, and so marriage is kind of the obvious thing' Steven joked.

'No. I'm single at the moment. Not all guys are interested in ginger Scott's who run around Tardis's' Karen laughed.

'Matt?' She said turning to me and I knew every teenage girl in this room was looking for an answer. I knew deep down in couldn't hide it, the evidence is on the Internet.

'I have a lot of friends that are girls. And maybe I am and maybe I'm not in a relationship. I will try not to talk about it in this kind of area because otherwise the relationship might break down... Just from misunderstandings, but to clear up any confusion. Yes I am seeing someone at the moment' I confined earning a bunch of 'Ahs' from the audience,
