Chapter 12- "Separation..."

Chapter 12 - "Separation..."

Matt's PoV

The separation was the worst. We had already spoken and she agreed that once school finishes she's going to move here for a bit. But she's still got until the end of May.

Leaving me 5 months on my own.

She's coming on the press tour with me though. I'm looking forward to seeing her for that.

Then I'm going back in May to finish my exams, before we go to America in July.

We're crashing comic con this year as long as all goes well.

'Evening Matt' Steven said. It was a bloody night shoot. I wouldn't mind but I'd been on set all day until 9 o'clock last night, filming for episode 10.

'Well you'll be glad to know that you get a whole week off of filming next week because of the first air of episode 1'

We're all invited to Stevens house for that, and it's the Easter holidays so Jenna, Richard and Lilly are coming down next Friday night, so we can all watch the premiere together.

I was exhausted now and wasn't really in the mood to film but like any good actor powered through, plus Arthur was back.

'They're still out there. What do we do now?' He said.

'If I can stop whatever's in this box getting out, then they'll go home. Rory, I'm sorry. You're going to have to be very brave now' I say.

I watch as Karen walks past Arthur and completely ignores him. 'Oh, my head.'

'Ah'

'Ah'

'Just your basic knock-out drops. Get some fresh air, you'll be fine.'

'Is it safe up there?'

'Not remotely, but it's fresh'

'Fine. Oh, you're the guy, yeah? The one who did the swordy thing'

'Yeah'

'Well, thanks for the swording. Nice swording'

'No problem. My men are up there. They'll look after you.'

'Good. Love a Roman'

'She doesn't remember me. How can she not remember me?'

'Because you never existed' I said.

'Cut'

'Oh thank god. Someone find me a bloody coat' I complained.

It was 2 in the morning. The only time we could legally use Stonehenge and it was bloody freezing for March.

'Hey Matt. Good seeing ya mate' Arthur said as we attempted to warm up with tea, waiting for the next scene.

'Nice Roman costume' I complimented smirking.

'Yeah whatever dude'

'I think it suits him' Karen laughed.

'Hey dude. It's been ages' Richard said when he came in my flat and hugged me like a child.

'Yes it has. Where's Jenna?' I asked looking desperately for her.

'She's talking to Karen' Richard said insulted. 'We need to go'

'Wait where are you going?' Richard asked.

'The premiere in London' I said. He knew this but I couldn't take him because I was already taking Jenna.

'Fine. See you later then' Richard sulked.

'Come on Jenna' I said swiping her hand as she walked up the corridor.

'Wait what?' She asked.

'We need to go else we'll be late' I said ushering her into the car.

'No plus one?' I joke asked Karen. 'No. I don't need a plus one' she said so smugly.

'Remember what I told you about press?' I asked her. She nodded. 'Good'

I had pre warned her about how crazy these interviewers could be and how mad things can get, plus all the cramp that people will ask or try to get out of you.

'Evening' I said to the cameras and started waving. I pulled Jenna with me, and went to sign a few books like I was instructed to do, and then was ushered into the hall.

'I've got to watch from back stage because I'm doing a Q&A... Arthur will you watch Jenna?'

'She's not two dude'

'I know but she hates the press and isn't very good at handling awkward questions. She knows a lot so I don't want her to blurt anything out' I admitted. 'Cause then I would get the sack'

'Yeah. Okay dude'

I followed a couple of guys with Kaz back stage and we were directed to where well be watching it from up in a box away from the rest of the audience.

It was really empowering to be a part of all this with the audience and to see there reaction on the show and how it's been remade.

Then the first scene with me and Karen came up. Basically the biggest scene setting up chemistry of these two characters. I just hope it works and the audience likes it.

'I need to speak to whoever lives in this house right now.'

'I live here'

'But you're the police.' I say.

'Yes, and this is where I live. Have you got a problem with that?'

'How many rooms?'

'I'm sorry, what?' All I could think about was how awful and raggedy I looked in that outfit. It literally was the raggedy man.

'On this floor. How many rooms on this floor? Count them for me now.'

Why?

'Because it will change your life.'

'Five. One, two, three, four, five.'

'Six.'

'Six?'

'Look.'

'Look where?'

'Exactly where you don't want to look. Where you never want to look. The corner of your eye. Look behind you.'

'That's, that is not possible. How's that possible?'

'There's a perception filter all round the door. Sensed it the last time I was here. Should've seen it.'

'But that's a whole room. That's a whole room I've never even noticed.'

'The filter stops you noticing. Something came a while ago to hide. It's still hiding, and you need to uncuff me now.'

'I don't have the key. I lost it'

'How can you have lost it? Stay away from that door! Do not touch that door! Listen to me, do not open that. Why does no-one ever listen to me? Do I just have a face that nobody listens to?'

'Again. My screwdriver, where is it?'

'Ugh' I put my head in my hands. 'Hey John, the audience are liking it so don't beat yourself up. I think your a great Doctor' Karen commented.

I was the most nervous about this scene. Had I delivered it right? It doesn't really help that I'm strolling through Twitter as we speak, seeing what people think.

A text from Richard popped up. 'Dude your amazing'

I was panicking about the outfit now... Have I made the right choice?

'So this was a good idea, was it? They were leaving.' Kaz announced. She seemed to be enjoying watching herself.

'Leaving is good. Never coming back is better. Come on, then! The Doctor will see you now.'

You are not of this world.

'No, but I've put a lot of work into it.'

'Oh, hmm, I don't know. What do you think?'

'Is this world important?'

'Important? What's that mean, important? Six billion people live here. Is that important? Here's a better question. Is this world a threat to the Atraxi? Well, come on. You're monitoring the whole planet. Is this world a threat?'

'No.'

'Are the peoples of this world guilty of any crime by the laws of the Atraxi?'

'No.'

'Okay. One more. Just one. Is this world protected? Because you're not the first lot to come here. Oh, there have been so many. And what you've got to ask is, what happened to them?'

The there is a run through of all the previous Doctors, then I step through the projection with a jacket and bow tie. There was a massive cheer and explosion of laughter from the audience.

'Hello. I'm the Doctor. Basically, run.' I said and it was pretty much over.

I was nervous now about the Q&A. I've never really done one before.

'How did you feel taking David Tennant's shoes?' One girl asked.

'Well I literally did. His feet are two sizes smaller than mine and I had to actually wear them for the whole episode.' I said, causing the entire audience to laugh.

All I could see though was Jenna and how she was smiling so much down in the audience.

'You were so good' she said wrapping her arms around my neck and kissed me while we were in the back.

'You really think?'

'You were amazing. You could be like the next 007' she smirked. 'Well thanks for that but I just stick to time and space.' I Laughed,
