Burn
Chapter 7 Burn
America loves to admit that his brother is one of the strongest in the world. The war the two are currently in shows that. The young nation warns his government many time to not demand so much. Yes, the blockade is really hurting him but there is a better method.
Alfred really wishes the camera get invented sooner. Perhaps he could give a little push. Maybe he can also push some common sense in his government too. They are repeating actions. He fears the effect will be the same too. Alfred has been twitching non-stop and has been unable to sleep in the past few days. He wrote thousands of letters to his brother and England but in the end, his President forced him to throw it all in the garbage.
What a waste. He was even put on house arrest too. He was in a room in the white house with no window. The only door can be lock from the outside and one of the staff carries the key. He felt trapped and alone. Maybe he can write a letter to France and ask him to send it to Canada.
Is it just him or is the room starting to get hotter?
Dear France.
How are you?
Only five words and the letter is already awkward. Maybe he should just go straight to the point.
Dear Francis.
I'm sorry to bother you. May I ask you a favor?
Now that he thought about it Canada would probably throw out his letter as soon as he sees Alfred's name. This is useless.
Alfred takes off his shirt. His head was spinning. What day is it? If history was heading the way it originally was then he's in for a...
The first time America was Naive, he thought his brother wanted to be with him, but he should have known that his brother is his own country and America now know to be cautious especially once his country starts to expand beyond North America. America blink as he pinches his cheeks. He felt numb. It must be time. At least this time he didn't kill anyone.

Matthew found this whole war to be strange. He once joked around with Alfred when the younger nation snuck in his home for a chat. The other nation said that his government sometimes like to do things without asking their nation for his opinion. Alfred told him that the sudden change often did more harm to his people (and sometimes to the Natives which Canada also had the same problem ) and his land.
"If you don't see me on the battlefield, assume I was either kidnapped or refuse to fight because the war is stupid."
America is neither Kidnapped nor is on the battlefield so he must not see this war to be necessary. It gave some hope to Canada that America can stop this war. The pre-teen nation look back at the burning building, he can't be far.
England was also looking for America but for a different intention.
Canada was walking around the burning city hearing people panic and move out of the way as he passes through with his uniform.
"Mr.Jones is long gone." Someone whispered. Canada turned around to be two servants talking to each other.
"Of course everyone was too busy escaping they forgot to unlock the door. " The other said shaking her head. "The poor child. I believe he has a brother. Perhaps we should write to the brother once it's all over."
Matthew can't take it anymore, he spun around and grab the man's collar. "Where is he?" He demanded. "Where is my brother!"
"At the white house. But it's long gone now." Canada tossed the man to the side and rush over to where the flames are the brightest.
"Alfred! Can you hear me?" He shouted. The fire started to die down, pile of ashes is spread all over the ground. "Al?"
From the side, he could hear his fellow men sneering at him. As well as Alfred's people doing the same as well.
"Kirkland!" One shouted. "what are you doing here, the general is looking for you." Matthew ignored this as he notices a hand sticking out from the rubble. "Al !" Matthew threw the broken cement to the floor in order to clean up the mess that was crushing his brother.
"H-Hey Matt. My other hand... please." His brother asked his hand and the rest of his body was badly burned and he was twitching as well, he's slowly calming down. Canada looked over to see America's other hand buried. He ran over and picked up the rock. He gasped. "Al.."
"They ran out too quickly they forgot about him. I had to break down the door and tear off the frame but it burned my hand..it's his only portrait. My history."
Canada can tell that his brother was trying to stay strong. If he was in his situation he would have been bawling. "England is looking for you. I'll try to find you a place to hide."
America smiled and closed his eyes. "Thank you for everything Mattie."
