Chapter 16: BAD DECISION

The sky is painted in crimson red, with hues of pink and purple highlighting it. The streetlights are slowly lighting up, giving the surrounding a lovely and pleasant vibe.

It is the last day before their summer break starts. Jungkook decides to spend a sweet and romantic moment with his love, Sewon. They take a walk around their University, chattering and giggling, sharing some small and brief kisses in between. They sit on a bench, by the lake nearby their University, and watch the sunset. Sewon taps her feet onto the ground and lays her head on Jungkook's shoulder, mumbling, "I love you, my bunny"

Jungkook chuckles, "I love you too, my mochi." and kisses the top of her head.

After a while of spending time in each other's embrace, Jungkook bids her goodbye, "I guess I should go now, baby."

"Won't you stay a little longer...?" Sewon pouts.

Jungkook chuckles and touches her pout, "Sorry mochi... But we've an important group discussion today... Will see yaa on the weekend, hmm?"

Sewon nods and gets on her toes, wrapping her arms around his neck, pulling him for a kiss as they both giggle into it.

Jungkook walks to the exit gate while smiling like a fool, remembering their little date. Jungkook has never dated a girl. All others were playdates but this one is for real. He likes her. Yes, he does.

When he reaches the gate, he notices Soojin standing there, looking at him blankly and giving him a hesitant smile. Jungkook feels twinge of happiness when he sees her. He waves at her, "Suju!!" and runs up to her.

"What are you doing here, Suju??" He asks her, huffing, trying to catch a breath.

Soojin gives a small smile and says, a hesitation lingering in her voice, "Nothing much... Just wanted to see you... And spend some time with you..."

Jungkook gives her a warm smile but feels guilty for not giving her much time. Did i get too engrossed with Mochi that i forgot my Suju? F*ck you Jungkook!

He pulls her close to him, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. They walk by, giggling and sharing about their day. Soojin feels momentarily jealous, hearing about the lovey- dovey moments of Jungkook and Sewon. She doesn't know why but it's hurting. Maybe it's not the fact that Jungkook is dating now. What hurts her is the lack of time she's getting to spend with him.

They walk to the bus stop, stopping at the CVS while Jungkook pays for their snacks. They reach the Nonhyeon-dong bus stop soon and start walking through the dark, narrow alley that leads to their dorm.

Jungkook, now with his hands in his pockets, glances at Soojin with a pout. She's not okay. She's hiding something from me. He knows her too well that just by observing odd behaviour, he sensed something is wrong. He decides to voice out his confusion, "You want to tell me something, don't you?"

"Huh?"

"C'mon...," Jungkook scoffs, "I can clearly tell it by looking at you!"

Soojin looks away for a moment, sucking in some breath. Should I tell him? Will he go with me? "Uhm... It's about...," she stutters.

"What is it? Tell me... You can trust me, you know that right?" He assures her in his most comforting voice, something that she has been missing lately. So much that she can't express.

Soojin sighs before speaking, "Dad... You know right dad and me, we've never gone on a trip before... Except for Daegu," she says, fidgeting with her fingers, "But this time... He has decided to take me to Jeju--"

"WOAHHHH!!!!" Jungkook exclaims, startling her, "Jeju?!! I mean... OMG!!! Damn Sujuu!!! You're so lucky gurl!! Go and have fun with uncle!!" He pats her back.

His reactions and expressions make her giggle. "There's more to it," she says, "We're going on this coming Monday and will return on next weekend. Dad asked me if I want to take any of you with me... And... Jeju is your dreamplace too... So...," she hesitates for a moment, "Will you... Join us?"

Jungkook's eyes widen as he stares at her with those big doe eyes, carrying several unexplainable emotions. He feels happy, so much happy that he just wants to jump up and down and pull her tightly in his arms. He doesn't know. Is it because they're going to Jeju, his dreamplace? Or is it because she wants to take ONLY him with her? He just wants to scream 'YESS!! why not?! Anything for you Suju' but just then.... An event stirs up in his mind.

"Bunny...," Sewon calls him by his nickname as she clings onto his arm. Jungkook hums.

"I've a wish... Will you fulfill it?" She asks him with a pout.

"What is it, baby?" Jungkook pinches her cheeks.

"Will you spend this weekend at my house? You know...we can do many things that couples do..."

"I'm busy this weekend...," he tells her but he pout grows larger as she pulls away from him. Jungkook chuckles, "Um... What about next week? Is it okay?" Sewon grins and nods.

Jungkook's smile fades away and his expression turns into a guilty one. Soojin frowns and calls his name, "Kookie...?"

Jungkook bites onto his inner cheek as he tells her, his voice laced with guilt, "Sorry Suju... But I can't..." Jungkook notices her smile drop and her face replaced with a pout, that pout of hers that he wants to kiss so bad. He sighs, "Sewon...you know, she asked me to spend the weekend with her... So--"

"It's okay... It's okay...," Soojin says, as she looks away, unable to maintain the eye contact.

She feels her heart shattering at his statement. She wants to cry at it, so bad and she wishes if she could cry in his arms, from where she gets the most comfort. Can't he even do this for me? She starts to feel angry. She bites on her inner cheeks, stopping her tears from dripping because she doesn't want to show them to him.

But can she actually hide it from him? From Jungkook who knows her the best? Jungkook feels a pang at his chest seeing her on the verge of tears. Guilt takes over him. He stutters, "Hey...S-Suju...I can...I can talk with Sew--"

"No!" Soojin snaps, "No! You... You be with her! She needs you! You're a loyal boyfriend... You need to be with your girlfriend...," saying that, she rushes into the dorm, leaving Jungkook alone and unable to utter a single word to stop her. He knows very well that she would probably lock herself in the bathroom and cry her heart out, which he doesn't want at all.

But what can he do? Nothing.

"You messed up... Seriously this time... She'll cry because of you, Jungkook...," he mumbled to himself as he wiped his own dripping tears.

A few days later~

It's the day for Soojin to start her trip with her father. The boys are a bit upset, having to spend a week without their little sister. They've planned to visit their hometowns after she returns from Jeju.

"Sujuuu don't gooo!!!" Taehyung wails, holding her wrist.

The others laugh while Yoongi scoffs, "She's not going to live in Jeju forever! Stop being a child! You're 19 now!"

Taehyung sniffles and then clings onto Jimin, "Jiminaahhh, you've to dress up as Suju for the next 7 days, so that I don't miss her."

Jimin's face contorts as he looks at Taehyung with a disgusted look, "Are you crazy?! Get off me!!" He looks at Soojin with a helpless expression, "Sujuu!! Take your annoying brother with you!"

"Yeah, he'll be a pain in ass," Yoongi adds.

Namjoon laughs, "Stop y'all! Let Suju go!!"

They all laugh and giggle as they pull her in between their arms, giving her a tight hug, full of love. They are so lost in their fun that they don't notice Jungkook, who was standing away from them, with a pout and a sad expression. He still feels guilty thinking of what happened that day.

Soojin, after breaking away from the hug, goes towards Jungkook. She hesitates for a moment before suddenly pulling him in her arms. It leaves him shocked for a moment before he lets out a shaky breath and wraps his arms around her too, much tighter.

"Bye... Kookie...," she mumbles.

"I-I'm sorry...," he whispers in her left ear, his voice heavy as if he's about to cry. Soojin pats his back, whispering back, "it's alright"

She then breaks the hug and runs to her father, while Jungkook gives her a weak smile.

"Alright boys, take care!!" Haru smiles and bids them goodbye.

"Yaa, you rascal!! Take care of yourself, okay??" Seokjin calls her as she gets into the taxi, "Don't catch a cold, don't play with water much, eat your food at your time, eat healthy food, or else you'll have food poisoning! What else again...Ah! Wear mask! You've dust allergy... Always carry your inhaler, you've asthma... Again..." He raps all the instruction in one go, Soojin shakes her head and Haru breaks out laughing.

"Okay okay Mr. Seokjin! I know it!" Soojin clasps her hands and bows to him.

"Seokjin?!!! Yaaa!!! You--" Seokjin widens his eyes and is about to pull her ears for fun, "I'm 7 years older than you!! Call me Oppaa!!!"

Haru just stares at them lovingly and grins. How much do they care for my baby... At least someone does. At least she's happy. At least I can see her smile from her heart again.

Weekend ~

Jungkook comes over to his girlfriend, Sewon's house, as he has promised her to. Jungkook didn't want to come but what could be do? He has promised her. Nevertheless, it helped Jungkook get a bit of relief from the guilt and the stress he was taking for Soojin.

He talks with Soojin at late nights, her sharing her experiences with him and also that how much she misses him, but still... There is a hint of uneasiness between them. Jungkook waits the whole Saturday, checking his phone every now and then, for her to call him but.... No calls.

He is disappointed. Is it because I'm with Sewon? Is she not comfortable? He wants to call her and tell her that it's okay and she can call him even if he's with his girlfriend. But he doesn't have the guts.

The Saturday is spent with Jungkook and Sewon going to shopping, Sewon buying tons of things with his money and then a lovely dinner date in a restaurant.

Jungkook won't lie. He did enjoy his lovely moments with her, though his mind often drifted away to the thoughts of Soojin. He would shrug them, and get distracted with Sewon again.

Now comes Sunday. The young couple decides to keep it simple yet sweet. They just go on a small cafe date for lunch and then, a romantic movie date in the evening, at Sewon's house.

The couple got too engrossed in the romantic scenes that they didn't realise how it all started. It started naturally, with Sewon getting onto his lap, both having a steamy kissing session until Jungkook picked her up and took her to her bedroom and.... The night went on.

The night was filled with their love and pleasure, making both of them forget every problem and misery in each other's embrace. The ecstatic feeling made them forget time, as they continued loving each other.

It is about 3a.m. and Jungkook's phone suddenly lights up, buzzing. Jungkook, who's too engrossed in his pleasure, groans in frustration. Who tf is it at fvckin 3 in the morning?! He stops and slowly lifts up his head from the crook of Sewon's neck to check the caller ID.

'Suju💜'

Ah... She's coming back today. She must be bored right now so she wants to talk.

A smile decorates Jungkook's lips at that. He wants to pick it up but... His pleasure matters to him more at the moment. So, he just silences his phone and gets back to what he was doing.

A few more minutes and both Jungkook and Sewon both are totally spent, as they lie on the bed, breathing heavily. Jungkook glances at her, who fell asleep due to exhaustion. He chuckles and covers her and himself with a duvet.

Before drifting to his slumber, he checks his phone one last time to see if Soojin has called him again. Yes, she has. 2 missed calls.

Jungkook chuckles. She must be missing me. Just wait till the morning. I'll surely call you and talk for hours.

But little did Jungkook know... That this little, unintentional mistake of his would cost him a great price? That it would turn his world upside down, making his life miserable forever?
