Epilogue : The End
Queen Amalia Channels Her Inner Disney Princess at a Baby2Baby Mother's Day Party Hosted by Shutterfly
Two days after turning heads on the red carpet of the Met Gala in a gold Versace gown, complete with a flower headpiece that made her look like an actual angel, and three days before Mother's Day, Queen Amalia landed at The Wing Dumbo to host a charity event for Baby2Baby, the philanthropy started by Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein that provides low-income children with basic needs like diapers and clothing.
"I was seeing from afar what Baby2Baby was doing, and I heard a This American Life story about a woman who after Hurricane Katrina was displaced," explains Amalia of how she became involved with the organization. "Before, the woman was upper-middle class; she had a Mercedes; she thought that her life was solid. She didn't have savings, but she was doing all right in her situation, and then Katrina happened and she was displaced and moved to Texas, and she didn't have any support, and she had a young baby and a toddler, and was suddenly begging. She had to keep the same diaper on her baby. Hearing this woman's story stuck with me." That was six or seven years ago, and in searching for a charity that would have a real impact on families in need, Amalia came across Baby2Baby and signed on to be an ambassador. She has since lent her name and time to events that it hosts.
This particular Mother's Day celebration brought moms and kids that Baby2Baby serves in New York to the women's club for an afternoon with Mickey Mouse, the Disney Princess Tiana, and live music by Little Maestros. There were flowerpot-making stations, a card craft area, lots of snacks, and much, much more. The fun wasn't just for kids, though. While the children were dancing away, the moms got to partake in a moment of me-time, with blowouts provided by Glamsquad and manicures by Tenoverten.
"All the kids here are living below the poverty line, so to be able to have an event where not only they get to celebrate but the moms also get to have a minute of peace [is really wonderful]," Amalia notes. "They're not given the opportunity that they should be given."
The Queen has two daughters, ages 3 and 1, of her own and is trying to instill in them a sense of gratefulness from an early age. "I always want to make sure they're present and they're appreciative," she says. "In order to be appreciative for what you have, you have to realize that it isn't a given. We talk about how we're very lucky-and even though we work hard, we need to be thankful we're given the opportunity to work hard because a lot of people work hard but aren't given this opportunity. I don't know if I'm doing it right, I'm sure I'll take plenty of missteps, but I think it's about being aware and being present."
And with that, Amalia's kids bound in to join the party. As soon as she sees them, the actress jumps up in her bubblegum pink Jenny Packham fit-and-flare dress and festive Lucite earrings to give them bear hugs. "I think that if I weren't doing what I'm doing for a living, there's nothing I'd love more than going to kids' parties and dressing up and making them happy. Maybe I just secretly want to dress up as a Disney Princess. [Actually,] maybe it's not so secret!"

Happy Anniversary to their Majesties King Miguel and Queen Amalia as today marks twelve years of marriage.

"Happy 12th wedding anniversary." Antonia said waking up me.
"Antonia, why are you so dressed up?" I asked sitting up.
"Because today is a special day." She replied.
"Special day?" I asked.
"Amalia, get up so we can get you ready." She said.
I got out of bed and went to take a shower and brush my teeth. I walked back out to find Camila, Kate, Meghan, Kristen, Kimberly, Gabrielle, April, Serena, Robyn, Onika, Rose, Sophie, Sarah, Beatrice, Eugenie, Leighton, and Antonia standing there all dressed up.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"It's a special day." Kate said pulling me to a make up chair.
"You guys are scaring me." I said.
"Just close your eyes and let us work our magic." Kimberly said.
"Okay, but if you guys are secretly planning to kill me, I'll hunt you all in the afterlife." I said closing my eyes.
"She's so dramatic." Serena said.
"Very." April said.
"Okay ladies let's get her ready." Sarah said.

"Oh my God!" I said as I look at myself in the mirror.
"You look so much like your mother." Sarah said.
"Why am I wearing a wedding dress?" I asked.
"Because Miguel is giving you the real royal wedding that you deserved." Antonia replied.
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes, we've been planning this wedding for months." Kate said.
"Oh my goodness! I need to sit." I said.
"There's no time, we have to go." Antonia said.

They arrived at Wilmington Abbey a few minutes later, the entire road being cleared up for them and all. The car slowed down to a stop in front of the huge double doors. Charles got out first and so did Antonia from her front seat. Leighton and bridal party, whose car arrived also, went into the church first in order to take their seats, but not before waving to the crowds and wishing Amalia luck.
Amalia took a deep breathe and then slowly climbed out.
Please God, don't let me trip!
That was all she could think about.
She held on to her father's arm and waved with her other hand to the crowds gathered all around the Abbey.
They cheered so loud and Amalia smiled widely at them while waving as Antonia was fixing the train of her wedding gown behind her. Once Antonia was done, it was time to walk into the Abbey.
"Are you ready?" Charles asked.
Amalia took a shaky breath, "Yeah, I am. Just...don't let me fall."
"Never." Charles replied, tightening his hold on her arm just in case.
The wedding march began and Charles and Amalia began their walk up the aisle. As soon as they stepped inside Amalia gasped softly. It was huge! Seeing the Abbey in paintings and actually being inside it were two completely different things. That and the fact that there were so many people staring at her almost caused Amalia to trip if it weren't for her father being there.
How many guests had they invited anyway?
She continued to take small steps, her father matching her pace and Leighton following behind.
They took a final turn and finally they were able to see the alter.
She saw William. Yes, her brother standing right next to her husband.
As soon as Amalia caught sight of Miguel, everything else seemed to disappear.
He was standing there waiting patiently for her to come to him, with the biggest smile ever on his face. Amalia calmed down immediately. Miguel was there; waiting for her. She had to hold back the sudden urge to start racing up the aisle towards him.
He looked so handsome in his official military suit complete with medals of Honor.
It's definitely true what they say about a man in a uniform, she decided.
As Prince Charles walks Amalia down the aisle, Miguel's jaw drops as he stares out towards his wife. His heart was beating faster and faster, she was stunning. His eyes could not, would not leave her gaze. He watched as Amalia's long blonde curled hair billowed in the breeze; her bright, beautiful smile warming his heart. Prince Charles squeezes her arm gently before bowing to her, "It's been an honour raising you, Amalia, and no matter what you will always be my daughter, my queen." He said.
Amalia smiles at her father.
Amalia walks up the steps of the pagoda gracefully and takes her place beside Miguel. "You look beautiful." Miguel says. Amalia laughs as she takes his hand in hers, "You look handsome!" He grins as he squeezes her hand, He raises an eyebrow as she winks at him.
"Are you now both ready?" The Archbishop asks them both. Nodding he begins the ceremony.
The Archbishop indicated that the guests could sit down and he began the ceremony. Everything after that was a blur to Amalia; all she could focus on was the feel of Miguel's hand as it touched hers.
"I love you." I said looking at him.
"I love you too, always and forever." He said.
The End.
